Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book The Ethics of Nanotechnology Geoengineering and Clean Energy

Download or read book The Ethics of Nanotechnology Geoengineering and Clean Energy written by Andrew Maynard and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-07-26 with total page 622 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nanotechnology, clean technology, and geoengineering span the scale of human ingenuity, from the imperceptibly small to the unimaginably large. Yet they are united by a commonality of ethics that permeates how and why they are developed, and how the resulting consequences are managed. The articles in this volume provide a comprehensive account of current thinking around the ethics of development and use within each of the technological domains, and addresses challenges and opportunities that cut across all three. In particular, the collection provides unique insights into the ethics of ’noumenal’ technologies - technologies that are impossible to see or detect or conceive of with human senses or conventional tools. This collection will be of relevance to anyone who is actively involved with ensuring the responsible and sustainable development of nanotechnology, geoengineering or clean technology.

Book Des nanotechnologies aux technologies mergentes

Download or read book Des nanotechnologies aux technologies mergentes written by Stéphanie Lacour and published by Primento. This book was released on 2013-02-11 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Nanoethics and Nanotoxicology

Download or read book Nanoethics and Nanotoxicology written by Philippe Houdy and published by Springer. This book was released on 2011-09-13 with total page 620 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nanobiotechnology is a fast developing field of research and application in many domains such as in medicine, pharmacy, cosmetics and agro-industry. The book addresses the lastest fundamental results on nanotoxicology and nanoethics, and the enormous range of potential applications in the fields of medical diagnostics, nanomedicine, and food and water administration. Nanoscale objects have properties leading to specific kinds of behaviour, sometimes exacerbating their chemical reactivity, physical behaviour, or potential to penetrate deeply within living organisms. Hence it is important to ensure the responsible and safe development of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies. This fourth volume in the Nanoscience series should make its mark, by presenting the state of the art in the fields of nanotoxicology and nanoethics. This is the first book to combine both scientific knowledge and ethical and social recommendations. It also presents specific policies on nanotechnologies set up by national and international authorities. This book is of interest to engineers, researchers, and graduate students.

Download or read book La nanom decine written by Institut international de recherche en éthique biomédicale. Séminaire d'experts franco-québécois and published by Dalloz-Sirey. This book was released on 2007 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Impossibilia Moralia

  • Author : Ion Vezeanu

Download or read book Impossibilia Moralia written by Ion Vezeanu and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 2007 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Knowledge Production Modes between Science and Applications 2

Download or read book Knowledge Production Modes between Science and Applications 2 written by Jean-Claude Andre and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-05-21 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inventing isn’t easy! After identifying and presenting the 12 "valleys of death", the real obstacles limiting the transition from an original idea to an innovative one, including the notion of socially responsible research, Knowledge Production Modes between Science and Applications 2 applies the concepts introduced in Volume 1. The book starts off with 3D printing, which has essentially broken through all barriers by offering remarkable advantages over existing mechanical technology. The situation is different for 4D printing and bio-printing. First of all, we need to tackle the complexity inherent in these processes, and move away from disciplinarity to find robust, applicable solutions, despite the obstacles. This is possible in niche areas, but currently, low profitability still limits their general applicability and the willingness of researchers to embrace interdisciplinary convergence....

Book Philosophies of Technologies

Download or read book Philosophies of Technologies written by Valerie Charolles and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-04-09 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the space of a century, technologies have acquired unprecedented power. The result of these developments is a new form of the world. These transformations test our capacities and generate new crises with multiple issues at stake. Drawing on the lessons of a long history, Philosophies of Technologies examines the continuities and disruptions brought about by the power of contemporary technical systems, without reducing them to the digital age. It draws together 13 authors from different schools of thought and proposes tools that combine productive technology with sustainability, innovation and responsibility. This book wagers that, in the face of the sprawling and ever-changing deployment of technologies, philosophy is able to respond to the changes that offer so many opportunities to shape our future. Today, technologies need a philosophical moment.

Book Exploring the Boundaries of Bodiliness

Download or read book Exploring the Boundaries of Bodiliness written by Sigrid Müller and published by V&R Unipress. This book was released on 2013-12-11 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Industry 4 0

Download or read book Industry 4 0 written by Jean-Claude André and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-07-10 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital technology opens up extraordinary fields for applications that will deeply change the nature of jobs and trade, the very concept of work and the expectations of user–producers. The “masters of algorithms” have disrupted production and services, and this trend will continue for as long as electric energy and the elements of Industry 4.0 are in continued development. Beyond data control, a power struggle is working its way through the links in the value chain: intermediation, control of resources and command over human and physical networks, as well as partnerships, creativity and the political system. Industry 4.0: Paradoxes and Conflicts examines the need for a serious and technological review, as well as for research and training regarding citizenship and politics. This is a new situation in terms of relationships of competence and authority, which must be the subject of scientific as well as political reflections for the whole social body, which needs to be educated about choices. Throughout the book, the author poses the following question: instead of submitting to choices, would it not be better to exercise foresight?
