Las posibles causas que producen infertilidad son múltiples, destacando la edad avanzada y el estilo de vida de la mujer como dos de las principales. Según la especificidad de la causa, será más eficaz un tratamiento que otro. Por ello, es muy importante la realización de un buen diagnóstico de infertilidad, mediante un estudio exhaustivo de la pareja o mujer que se va a someter a la intervención. Existen numerosos tratamientos eficaces para la infertilidad, entre los que destacan la Fecundación In Vitro, la Microinyección Espermáticao, la Inseminación Artificial. Además de estas técnicas más tradicionales, podemos añadir otras como la donación de gametos, siendo una alternativa muy útil y beneficiosa, ya que permite que ciertas parejas con problemas puedan alcanzar el deseo de paternidad. El papel de Enfermería es muy importante en esta área, ya que atiende tanto a la salud física, como a la psicológica, impartiendo recomendaciones para aumentar el incremento de posibilidades de embarazo y ofreciendo el apoyo necesario para ayudar al paciente a recuperar su estabilidad emocional en relación con los sentimientos negativos. Este trabajo se centra en el estudio de las diferentes causas de infertilidad, los posibles tratamientos, las TRHA existentes en la actualidad y las alternativas en caso de no poder llevar a cabo un tratamiento de reproducción humana asistida específico.

España cuenta con una legislación más permisiva que otros países y una excelente calidad técnica y asistencial de los profesionales en los centros de reproducción, lo que la sitúa a la cabeza como uno de los países líderes en reproducción humana asistida en el mundo.Ahora bien, sin dejar un abismo de duda sobre la necesidad y reclamo en nuestra sociedad de estas técnicas, la presente monografía centra su estudio en el Informe emitido el pasado año por el Comité de Bioética Español en aras a levantar el velo y, permitir a todos aquellos concebidos mediante técnicas de reproducción asistida con material genético de donante, conocer quién o quiénes son los portadores de su carga genética.La actual regulación jurídica del acceso a la identidad del donante nos lleva a plantearnos el debate social, ético y moral sobre el choque frontal que puede propiciar con distintos derechos fundamentales reconocidos por nuestro ordenamiento y, especialmente, con el derecho a la identidad y libre desarrollo de la personalidad reconocido constitucionalmente.¿Debe preservarse entonces el anonimato de los donantes de gametos en las TRHA?, ¿de qué modo se hace?, ¿qué intereses, y de quiénes, se protegen con ello?, ¿cómo se justifican?, ¿qué piensan los donantes de gametos sobre este anonimato y sobre las “compensaciones” que reciben?, ¿y los hijos nacidos mediante estas técnicas respecto al derecho a su identidad? ¿habría un descenso inminente de las donaciones tras el levantamiento del anonimato? Estas y otras cuestiones quedan por ahora sin poder ser resueltas con suficientes evidencias científicas, precisamente por la mencionada escasez de estudios empíricos sobre el tema.Profundicemos, pues, en su estudio, no sólo desde un punto de vista jurídico sino también sociológico, aportando entrevistas de las partes implicadas muy convenientes para facilitar la argumentación y, suscitando así, un profundo debate sobre un tema tan apasionante como controvertido con el propósito de ofrecer claridad a muchas cuestiones hasta ahora no resueltas pero que, sin duda, subyacen y están presentes en los tiempos que vivimos.

Rather than attempting to recover the original meaning of biblical texts, reception history focuses on exploring the history of interpretation. In doing so it locates the dominant historical-critical scholarly paradigm within the history of interpretation, rather than over and above it. At the same time, the breadth of material and hermeneutical issues that reception history engages with questions any narrow understanding of the history of the Bible and its effects on faith communities. The challenge that reception history faces is to explore tradition without either reducing its meaning to what faith communities think is important, or merely offering anthologies of interesting historical interpretations. This major new handbook addresses these matters by presenting reception history as an enterprise (not a method) that questions and understands tradition afresh. The Oxford Handbook of the Reception History of the Bible consciously allows for the interplay of the traditional and the new through a two-part structure. Part I comprises a set of essays surveying the outline, form, and content of twelve key biblical books that have been influential in the history of interpretation. Part II offers a series of in-depth case studies of the interpretation of particular key biblical passages or books with due regard for the specificity of their social, cultural or aesthetic context. These case studies span two millennia of interpretation by readers with widely differing perspectives. Some are at the level of a group response (from Gnostic readings of Genesis, to Post-Holocaust Jewish interpretations of Job); others examine individual approaches to texts (such as Augustine and Pelagius on Romans, or Gandhi on the Sermon on the Mount). Several chapters examine historical moments, such as the 1860 debate over Genesis and evolution, while others look to wider themes such as non-violence or millenarianism. In our modern age, however, the advent and accessibility of assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) and the ease with which they have traversed global borders, has fundamentally altered the meaning of childbearing and parenting. In thetwenty-first century, parenthood is no longer achieved only through gestation, adoption, or traditional surrogacy, but also via assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs), where science and technology play lead roles. Furthermore, in a globalized world economy, where the movement and transfer of people and commodities are increasing to serve the interests of capitalism, gamete donation and surrogate birth can traverse innumerable geographic, socio-economic, racialized, and political borderlands. Thus, reproduction itself can be outsourced. This edited volume explores one specific aspect of the new assisted reproductive technologies: gestational surrogacy and how its practice is changing the traditional concept of parenthood across the globe. The phenomenon of transnational surrogacy has given rise to a thriving international industry where money is being ‘legally’ exchanged for babies and ‘reproductive labor’ has taken on a lucrative commercial tone. Yet, law, research, and activism are barely aware of this experience and are still playing catch-up with rapidly changing on-the-ground realities. This interdisciplinary collection of essays assuages the dearth of knowledge and addresses significant issues in transnational commercial gestational surrogacy as it takes shape in a peculiar relation between the West (primarily the United States) and India.
