Book excerpt: A SUPERMODEL After candidly admitting her virginal state, Jordana Almueda, the world's top supermodel, finds herself in the crosshairs of the tabloid media. Worse, she becomes a challenge for men - receiving a record number of proposals (most of them indecent) since her faux pas. Needing a break, she goes off to Italy to play maid of honor to her best friend. Finally, some downtime at last. Or so she thinks. A BILLIONAIRE Lonzo Vitale's name exudes power. A billionaire by his early thirties, his undeniable good looks and dynamism inspire awe and grabs headlines. The European business sector follows his boardroom moves, usually a step or two behind, while his bedroom conquests provide fodder for gossip pages. He is a man who vows never to settle - a true serial polygamist. When his best friend suddenly decides to tie the knot, Lonzo agrees to be his best man, in hopes of changing the groom's mind about the pitfalls of matrimony. A STORY MADE IN TABLOID HEAVEN. On the eve of the wedding, they find themselves entwined on a bed, naked and with no recollection of how they ended there in the first place. Or that their naked pictures will be selling tabloids weeks later.

Book excerpt: My name's Veronique 'Vee" Sevin and I'm a unicorn sans the horn... a 25-year-old-never-been-in-a- relationship-virgin. It doesn't help if you have an overprotective dad who used to be a heavyweight boxing champion. It can be a little intimidating for guys, especially when Dad starts flexing his muscles and casually invites them to train in the ring. It sucks. Believe me, I know. But these are desperate times. This pesky anomaly must go, not because I want to be sexually liberated from the shackles of virgindom, but because of a health scare. I really have to go out of my way to make it happen. I did my research and have seen a lot of YouTube videos on the subject. In my mind it's going to be one of those straightforward things. And then came Jared Braxton. I never met someone who radiates so much sex and power in one explosive package. Tall, sexy, with a face and body chiseled by gods. Just looking at him makes my body parts react and melt into goo.I never thought I'll catch his eye.Or that he'll be my first. We're supposed to be two ships passing in the heat of the night. But it turns out he is not what I initially thought he is.To say that I got more than I bargained for is the understatement of the century. For Jared Braxton, billionaire playboy, has made it known he is not someone I could easily brush aside.

Book Creating Greater Malaysia

Download or read book Creating Greater Malaysia written by Tai Yong Tan and published by Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. This book was released on 2008 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Malaysia came into existence on 9/16/63 as a federation of Malaya, Singapore, Sabah (North Borneo), and Sarawak; in 1965 Singapore withdrew from the federation. Offers an in-depth and detailed analysis of the political processes that led to formation of the Federation of Malaysia in 1963. It argues that the Malaysia that came into being following the amalgamation of Malaya, Singapore, Sarawak and North Borneo was a political creation whose only rationale was that it served a convergence of political and economic expediency for the departing colonial power, the Malayan leadership and the ruling party of self-governing Singapore. 'Greater Malaysia' was thus an artificial political entity, the outcome of a concatenation of interests and motives of a number of political actors in London and Southeast Asia from the 1950s to the early 1960s. This led to a number of unresolved compromises between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and did not obviate the possibility of future difficulties, and the seeds of dissension sown by the disagreements between the two governments were to sprout into major crises during Singapore's brief history in the Federation of Malaysia.

More than 200 annotated games are included, along with personal details--many for the first time in English. Mikhail Tal, the roguish, doomed Latvian who changed the way chess players think about attack and sacrifice; Tigran Petrosian, the brilliant, henpecked Armenian whose wife drove him to become the world's best player; Boris Spassky, the prodigy who survived near-starvation and later bouts of melancholia to succeed Petrosian--but is best remembered for losing to Bobby Fischer; and "Evil" Viktor Korchnoi, whose mixture of genius and jealousy helped him eventually surpass his three rivals (but fate denied him the title they achieved: world champion).

Book Opening Repertoire The French Defence

Download or read book Opening Repertoire The French Defence written by Cyrus Lakdawala and published by Everyman Chess. This book was released on 2019-03-24 with total page 605 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The French Defence provides a good choice for players who want to create a dynamic, unbalanced situation out of the opening but baulk at the level of study required to master the ferociously complex Sicilian Defence. The French is one of Black’s soundest defences to 1 e4 and is very popular at all levels. White often advances with the space-gaining e4-e5 which, in principle, will generate a small advantage. However, when this structure arises there are no clear points to attack in the black camp and Black has ready-made plans in the form of ...c7-c5 and ...f7-f6, moves that seek to undermine the white centre. In this book, renowned author Cyrus Lakdawala creates a repertoire for Black and navigates through the main lines of the French, providing the reader with well-researched, fresh and innovative analysis. Each annotated game has valuable lessons on how to play the opening, and contains instructive commentary on typical middle-game plans. Carefully selected questions and answers are designed to keep you actively involved and allow you to monitor your progress as you learn. * Presents a complete French Defence repertoire for Black. * Thorough explanations of typical pawn structures and piece manoeuvres. * Utilizes an ideal approach to chess study.
