Download or read book The Qur an written by Muhammad Abdullah Draz and published by Kube Publishing Ltd. This book was released on 2017-10-10 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is unique in its approach to the Qur'an. It argues the point that only God could author such a book, and that Muhammad could have never produced anything like it. While this objective has been attempted by several Muslim scholars who highlighted one aspect or another of the topics highlighted in the Qur'an, Dr. Draz's works is perhaps the first that relies totally on the merits of the Qur'anic text for an irrefutable proof. Dr. Draz discusses the arguments made at the time of the Prophet and later on which suggested that the Qur'an was taught to Muhammad by various teachers, and shows how they all collapse at the first test. When he has irrefutably established the fact that the Qur'an could only be a divine revelation, Dr. Draz goes on to analyze the Qur'anic style, showing how it combines merits that could never be found together in any human writing. Equipped with a profound literary sense and a powerful Arabic style, Dr. Draz discusses the main characteristics of the Qur'anic style, as well as the unity of theme that runs through each chapter , or surah. The work is now presented to English readers as it gives students of the Qur'an valuable insight, enabling them to understand the Qur'an better.

Book The Millennium Dawn

Download or read book The Millennium Dawn written by James Fross and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2015-05-19 with total page 614 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout the vast reaches of Shirania there are many places that uplift the spirit of mankind, but the Ozzrin mountains are not among their number. They straddle the southeastern edge of the landmass, forming an element of the various geographical boundaries separating the holdings of the Cyroxiandalusianopherosites from the rest of the peoples who call Shirania home. The worn, gray mountains are far older than any other range in the land, unchanging monoliths that have seen more than one rising and falling of our race. Though the foggy, mossy highlands are quite beautiful in a melancholy sort of way, there is a sadness about them that cannot be solely attibuted to the climate. It's a resonant quality of the crumbling peaks, an unspoken tale of a memory that belongs to us, but escapes our capacity to recall it. For centuries, millennial, the mountains have slept, but on the final day of the year 999 A.F.C., the ancient landscape stirred, and what was once asleep began to awaken... The Millennium Dawn, by James Fross, conveys a parodic take on epic fantasy in an attempt to produce both amusement and reflection in the heart and mind of the reader.

Book Punishment and Inclusion

Download or read book Punishment and Inclusion written by Andrew Dilts and published by Fordham Univ Press. This book was released on 2014-09-15 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the start of the twenty-first century, 1 percent of the U.S. population is behind bars. An additional 3 percent is on parole or probation. In all but two states, incarcerated felons cannot vote, and in three states felon disenfranchisement is for life. More than 5 million adult Americans cannot vote because of a felony-class criminal conviction, meaning that more than 2 percent of otherwise eligible voters are stripped of their political rights. Nationally, fully a third of the disenfranchised are African American, effectively disenfranchising 8 percent of all African Americans in the United States. In Alabama, Kentucky, and Florida, one in every five adult African Americans cannot vote. Punishment and Inclusion gives a theoretical and historical account of this pernicious practice of felon disenfranchisement, drawing widely on early modern political philosophy, continental and postcolonial political thought, critical race theory, feminist philosophy, disability theory, critical legal studies, and archival research into state constitutional conventions. It demonstrates that the history of felon disenfranchisement, rooted in postslavery restrictions on suffrage and the contemporaneous emergence of the modern “American” penal system, reveals the deep connections between two political institutions often thought to be separate, showing the work of membership done by the criminal punishment system and the work of punishment done by the electoral franchise. Felon disenfranchisement is a symptom of the tension that persists in democratic politics between membership and punishment. This book shows how this tension is managed via the persistence of white supremacy in contemporary regimes of punishment and governance.

Book excerpt: I will—God willing—shed light on some evidences for the validity of Islam. This book dives into the origin of religion in general and the history of monotheism in particular. Moreover, it highlights the proofs of the authenticity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his message of Islam, especially the prophecies about his advent in the Scriptures of the People of the Book (i.e. the Jews and the Christians). Additionally, it explores the scientific miraculousness of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). Furthermore, its final chapter presents some of the fulfilled prophecies of the messenger (PBUH). Finally, Atheistic Misconceptions and Insinuations, the third book in this series which will be published in the coming months—God willing—is a refutation of the most famous allegations against Islam and Sharia law. Also, this book presents guidelines on how to deal with creedal and faith suspicions and insinuations. In point of truth, this series aims to enhance the certainty of faith by urging atheist truth seekers to consider the arguments and proofs for the validity of Islam. Hence, it is not a mere presentation of information, but an attempt to build consolidated knowledge. I presented its contents in a question-and-answer system in order to facilitate focused attention and information retrieval. In addition to the links (URLs) to the resources that I used, the books of this series contain also pictorial illustrations from the research sources and the Scriptures (the original texts or the approved translations) so that my argumentation is well documented and readers can easily verify the authenticity and reliability of the data presented. I pray God, the Magnanimous and the Most Generous, to make this work beneficial and to reward us for it. Kindly remember me in your good prayers. May God reward you all.

Book The Leadership of Muhammad

Download or read book The Leadership of Muhammad written by Joel Hayward and published by Claritas Books . This book was released on 2022-03-10 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Given Prophet Muhammad’s (s) immense impact on history, there are surprisingly few books that specifically analyse his leadership. The few that exist maintain that Muhammad was a wonderful leader because he was a wonderful man; that is, he succeeded in his mission because of his superior morality and personal qualities. Although it is widely agreed that Muhammad was a moral and decent man, this explanation seems incomplete and almost inadequate. Joel Hayward approaches the Prophet’s leadership from a different vantage point by scrutinising ancient sources to ascertain whether Muhammad’s conscious actions, behaviour, and methods can provide any substantial and meaningful insights about the effectiveness of his strategic leadership. Through meticulous research and rigorous analysis, Hayward demonstrates that Muhammad was an uncommonly astute and self-reflective man with the ability to create and communicate a believable strategic vision of a necessary and desirable future. This engaging yet deeply scholarly book makes a major contribution to both leadership studies and the Prophet’s biography

Book Muhammad s 11 Leadership Qualities

Download or read book Muhammad s 11 Leadership Qualities written by Nabeel Al-Azami and published by Claritas Books . This book was released on 2022-03-07 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EACH OF YOU ARE A SHEPHERD AND EACH OF YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR FLOCK This profound statement by Prophet Muhammad (s) compels us to recognise that we are all leaders at some level. But what makes someone a good leader? And how does each and everyone of us measure up against the leadership standards set by the Prophet? This book presents a well researched leadership framework combined with extensively applied contemporary practitioner case studies for the first time to readers interested in a Sirah (prophetic life) based universal model for good leadership. Drawing upon scholarly findings from eastern and western sources, and having examined an extensive range of works on Sirah, an original framework of eleven prophetic leadership qualities are presented with an entire chapter devoted to each. Well known and lesser known events from the Sirah are explored and analysed like never before, and viewed with a specialist leadership lens, extracting insights on effective people management, authentic leadership and succeeding against the odds. Each chapter on leadership qualities offers not only what the quality means and where it can be found in the life of the Prophet, but how one can develop those qualities within themselves as well.

Book excerpt: Although Abraham Lincoln deeply opposed the institution of slavery, he saw the Civil War at its onset as being Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln had only three meetings, but their exchanges profoundly influenced the course of slavery and the outcome of the Civil War.primarily about preserving the Union. Frederick Douglass, himself a former slave, by contrast saw the War's mission to be the total and permanent abolition of slavery. And yet, these giants of the nineteenth century, despite their different outlooks, found common ground, in large part through their three historic meetings. In elegant prose and with unusual insights, Paul and Stephen Kendrick chronicle the parallel lives of Douglass and Lincoln as a means of presenting a fresh, unique picture of two men who, in their differences, eventually challenged each other to greatness and altered the course of the nation.
