Book excerpt: The Sacred Feminine archetypes within astrology, mainly found within the frequencies of asteroids and dwarf planets, are a deep rich source of wisdom for our lives now. For centuries Feminine wisdom has been suppressed, dishonoured and denied, contributing to crisis in every aspect of our lives and especially to our disconnection from each other and our Earth. At this time the voice of the Sacred Feminine is calling to be acknowledged, expressed and heard as a potent guide to a new way of being here on Planet Earth that honours, nurtures and upholds the sanctity of all life. In Sacred Pathways Cassandra presents seven Feminine archetypes - Venus as Creatrix, Psyche as Soul Child, Vesta as Priestess, Ceres as Earth Mother, Artemis as Moon Maiden, Juno as Queen of Heaven & Pallas Athena as Wisdom Warrior in their both their light and shadows as guides to women's unique journey of evolution. Exploring these archetypes through astrology, mythology, personal story and an evolutionary perspective, this book opens doors into woman's psyche and beyond it. It presents a series of pathways for women to connect deeper with the creative power they innately are, to be present within their heart's calling, to embody their unique cyclical and rhythmic nature, and to honour the deep wisdom of their knowing in relationships and the wider world.

Book The Re Emergence of the Divine Feminine and Its Significance for Spiritual Psychological and Evolutionary Growth

Download or read book The Re Emergence of the Divine Feminine and Its Significance for Spiritual Psychological and Evolutionary Growth written by Franceska Perot and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2008-02 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For millennia a patriarchal society has ruled to the exclusion of the feminine or the Goddess who was peacefully worshipped before being completely replaced by a warrior Father God. The Goddess and hence women have been relegated to second-class citizens. The concept of woman as defined by traditional patriarchal society has disempowered the female sex and deemed them inferior. This exclusion and denigration of the divine feminine has done serious damage to women and men both individually and collectively, not to mention the damage this masculine mindset has caused to the environment through wars and other aggressive acts. In this dissertation, the history of the Goddess from the Paleolithic to the present is discussed and causes for the rise of patriarchy, such as invasions by warrior cults, the advent of language and the development of the ego are explored. Then the re-emergence of the divine feminine and its psychological, spiritual and evolutionary effects are discussed. This negative perception of the self by women is challenged by re-imaging women after the Greek Goddess archetypes: Athena, Hera, Demeter, Artemis, Aphrodite and Persephone. The Goddess archetypes are discussed in a therapeutical context as well as other therapeutical techniques such as aspecting, visualizations and women's' groups and circles. The author proposes the re-introduction of the "Sacred Marriage," a sacred ritual performed in temples since Neolithic times and in certain sects today, as a technique for therapy. This sexual ritual along with an understanding of the history of the divine feminine will have individual, collective and evolutionary effects with its use.

Book Discovering the Inner Mother

Download or read book Discovering the Inner Mother written by Bethany Webster and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2021-01-05 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sure to become a classic on female empowerment, a groundbreaking exploration of the personal, cultural, and global implications of intergenerational trauma created by patriarchy, how it is passed down from mothers to daughters, and how we can break this destructive cycle. Why do women keep themselves small and quiet? Why do they hold back professionally and personally? What fuels the uncertainty and lack of confidence so many women often feel? In this paradigm-shifting book, leading feminist thinker Bethany Webster identifies the source of women’s trauma. She calls it the Mother Wound—the systemic disenfranchisement of women by the patriarchy—and reveals how this cycle is perpetuated by wounded mothers who unconsciously pass on damaging beliefs and behaviors to their daughters. In her workshops, online courses, and talks, Webster has helped countless women re-examine their lives and their relationships with their mothers, giving them the vocabulary to voice their pain, and encouraging them to share their experiences. In this manifesto and self-help guide, she offers practical tools for identifying the manifestations of the Mother Wound in our daily life and strategies we can use to heal ourselves and prevent our daughters from enduring the same pain. In addition, she offers step-by-step advice on how to reconnect with our inner child, grieve the mother we didn’t have, stop people-pleasing, and, ultimately, transform our heartache and anger into healing and self-love. Revealing how women are affected by the Mother Wound, even if they don’t personally identify as survivors, Discovering the Inner Mother revolutionizes how we view mother-daughter relationships and gives us the inspiration and guidance we need to improve our lives and ultimately create a more equitable society for all.

Book The Feminine Connection

Download or read book The Feminine Connection written by Gayle Owens and published by Turnkey Press. This book was released on 2004-08-01 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. Owens' experience as a clinician, researcher and woman convinced her that most women struggle with their self-esteem, and she believes a root cause is that women don't like and accept themselves as women. The patriarchy has deprived women of the knowledge that hidden within their psyche is a treasure trove - the feminine archetype. Women reject the feminine, harming themselves over and over again without even knowing it, because this injury has become the norm. But such feminine qualities as passion, "letting go," gentleness and intuition are essential to healthy human functioning and offer an essential contrast and balance to the masculine. On a physical level, her body -- both the earth and the human -- carries and nourishes new life. On a psychological level, she is the unconscious, giving birth to consciousness. Consequently, a continuing interplay between consciousness and the unconscious is crucial to having vibrant, developing minds. In The Feminine Connection, Dr. Owens inspires women in every walk of life to rediscover the value of the feminine. She delves into the psychological theories of Carl Jung and relies on historical perspectives of societies and religions from the dawn of time. By understanding their feminine side, she believes women can assuage problems like midlife crises, codependency and other emotional problems. Only when women recognize and honor the feminine will they be able to honor themselves.

Book The Wedding of Sophia

Download or read book The Wedding of Sophia written by Jeffrey Raff and published by Nicolas-Hays, Inc.. This book was released on 2003-11-01 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Author of the acclaimed Jung and the Alchemical Imagination, Jeffrey Raff continues his teachings in psychoidal alchemy with an in-depth look at the feminine aspect of the divine. Sophia is, in the esoteric teachings, the embodiment of Wisdom, the matrix from which God arose, and God's heavenly consort and mirror. But, as Raff explains, she suffered a fall from this exalted state, corresponding to the obscuration of the feminine archetype in the patriarchal world. Without Sophia, God is not whole. It is our task to work with imagination to reunite Sophia and God. Raff explains the difference between fantasy, a product of the ego, and imagination, which comes from the soul. More importantly, he brings Sophia to life through a vivid analysis of an 800-year-old text, The Aurora Consurgens, as well as his personal experience with Sophia and active imagination. This process empowers us to become whole and realize our innate drive to unite with the divine.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I was amazed to find that I had no idea how to unfold my spiritual life in a feminine way. I was surprised, and, in fact, a little terrified, when I found myself in the middle of a feminist spiritual reawakening." ––Sue Monk Kidd For years, Sue Monk Kidd was a conventionally religious woman. Then, in the late 1980s, Kidd experienced an unexpected awakening, and began a journey toward a feminine spirituality. With the exceptional storytelling skills that have helped make her name, author of When the Heart Waits tells her very personal story of the fear, anger, healing, and freedom she experienced on the path toward the wholeness that many women have lost in the church. From a jarring encounter with sexism in a suburban drugstore, to monastery retreats and to rituals in the caves of Crete, she reveals a new level of feminine spiritual consciousness for all women– one that retains a meaningful connection with the "deep song of Christianity," embraces the sacredness of ordinary women's experience, and has the power to transform in the most positive ways every fundamental relationship in a woman's life– her marriage, her career, and her religion. This Plus edition paperback includes a recent interview with the author conducted by the book's editor Michael Maudlin.

Book Jung on Mythology

  • Author : C. G. Jung
  • Publisher : Princeton University Press

  • Pages : 289 pages

Download or read book Jung on Mythology written by C. G. Jung and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2020-06-16 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At least three major questions can be asked of myth: what is its subject matter? what is its origin? and what is its function? Theories of myth may differ on the answers they give to any of these questions, but more basically they may also differ on which of the questions they ask. C. G. Jung's theory is one of the few that purports to answer fully all three questions. This volume collects and organizes the key passages on myth by Jung himself and by some of the most prominent Jungian writers after him: Erich Neumann, Marie-Louise von Franz, and James Hillman. The book synthesizes the discovery of myth as a way of thinking, where it becomes a therapeutic tool providing an entrance to the unconscious. In the first selections, Jung begins to differentiate his theory from Freud's by asserting that there are fantasies and dreams of an "impersonal" nature that cannot be reduced to experiences in a person's past. Jung then asserts that the similarities among myths are the result of the projection of the collective rather than the personal unconscious onto the external world. Finally, he comes to the conclusion that myth originates and functions to satisfy the psychological need for contact with the unconscious--not merely to announce the existence of the unconscious, but to let us experience it.
