Download or read book Plain Truth written by Todd D. Utley and published by Author House. This book was released on 2012-06-04 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Plain Truth For many generations modern Christians have sat in church week after week while ministers pound the pulpits telling them what horrible sinners they are. In many cases doctrines have been handed down from parents to children, professor to student, and pastor to assistant, with little or no study of the scriptures on a personal basis. It should come as no surprise that we are missing some important pieces. If you are ready for real growth then you should read the Bible for yourself and fi nd out what it says to you fi rst hand. Reading this book you have in your hand is a good place to start. In this book we will explore provocative truths that you may not have heard of before. We will look at topics the average minister will rarely if ever speak of. We will discuss things that the protestant church simply cannot accept in spite of it being right in front of them in black and white and even in red and white. We will also look at a few scientifi c discoveries that support the word and spark our imaginations. Christ came to set us free from the bondage of the old law, yet many churches today are riddled with legalism, bickering, envy, hate, all the things that contradict what Christ came to promote, that being love and forgiveness. Christ himself said that he came into the world not to condemn it but instead to save it and to give each person eternal life. Plain Truth is a fresh look at some of the most interesting scriptures on the most controversial topics. I have shared it with the world in an effort to promote the Kingdom of God along with peace and personal growth for those that seek it. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I have enjoyed creating it. It may not be inspirational on every point to every reader, but if it helps each reader discover even one small truth for them, then my mission is accomplished. Author: Todd D. Utley

Download or read book Uncovering and Discovering the Key to Spiritual Growth written by Rich Kae and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2004-11-02 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written mostly in prose, "Uncovering and Discovering the KEY to Spiritual Growth" is sprinkled with some beautiful and transforming original poetry. It is a fascinating story of one man''s attempt to make sense out of a world turned upside down. In the midst of personal disaster, Rich Kae asked, "How do you find meaning in a world where all the givens are gone?" He started looking for the key or answer to this question by addressing the only thing he knew for certain -HIS PAIN! One chapter in the book entitled, "Pain is your Friend" reveals how being honest with and accepting his pain helped him to discover a new foundation upon which he could start to rebuild his life "one day at a time." The Book reflects the Author''s broad experience and education in the fields of psychology, religion, philosophy and the sciences. Many readers responded positively after having read the pre-publication manuscript. One such response by Rev. Donald Tastad reads, "One cannot read it without asking the most basic and important questions in life. One finds ample answers to those questions and of more importance, a way of life that leads to fulfillment and meaning."

The encyclopedia's six volumes offer entries on every country of the world, with particular emphasis on the larger nations, as well as Indonesia and the Latin American countries that are traditionally given little attention in English-language reference works. Book Age of Discovery

Download or read book Age of Discovery written by Robin P. Blessed and published by Partridge Singapore. This book was released on 2014-04 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Age of Discovery is about the author's life from age 13 to 16. He uses strips of scenes during that age to reflect on their meaning and what can be learned from them. The past is our memory. Can you imagine losing your memory? Discvery is intuitive, deliberate, more cautious, prudent, considered. The innocent abandonment, the childlike disregard of judgement suddenly cannot take root. One simply cannot ignore it. Life is a big bundle of little things, little episodes. The diverse events in the universe of life serve a definite purpose. They are not accidental. Life has a higher design, the age of discovery is when we become more cautious, more worldly-wise, forced by the uncharted, the unknown. it is a time of discontinuity. The ages of restlessness, and brooding will complete the other youthful places we can look. Reflection reveals to us that we have a beginning; it follows we have an end. The book is for learning, is as much about learning, about discovery. Time is the partner, the collaborator along with events and reflection that enable us to have a view of life's blueprint and God's hand in it. God is the primary cause of all that happens in life, in the universe. He puts rulers in their places, He raises tempests, He cals the seas. But, we must first acknowledge God for what He is, and have a personal relationship with Him.

Book Discovering the City of Sodom

Download or read book Discovering the City of Sodom written by Steven Collins and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2016-03-15 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fascinating, true account of the quest for one of the Old Testament’s most infamous cities. Like many Christians today in the academic world, Dr. Steven Collins felt pulled in different directions when it came to apparent conflicts between the Bible and scholarly research and theory—an intellectual crisis that inspired him to lay it all on the line as he set off to locate the lost city of Sodom. Recounting Dr. Collins’s quest for Sodom in absorbing detail, this adventure-cum-memoir reflects the tensions that define biblical archaeology as it narrates a tale of discovery. Readers follow “Dr. C” as he tracks down biblical, archaeological, and geographical clues to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, narrowing the list of possible sites as he weighs evidence and battles skeptics. Finally, he arrives at a single location that looms as the only option: a massive ancient ruin called Tall el-Hammam in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Many scholars who were initially opposed to Dr. Collins’s theory now concede that history books may need to be rewritten in light of his groundbreaking discovery. It—along with several other recent finds—is challenging the assumptions of academics and asserting a new voice in the controversy of biblical archaeology and the dispute over using the Bible as a credible historical source. *** From respected archaeologist Dr. Steven Collins and award-winning author Dr. Latayne C. Scott comes the fascinating, true account of the frustrating search and exciting excavation of the city the Bible calls Sodom, which scholars and others had “misplaced” for hundreds of years. Like many modern-day Christians, Dr. Collins struggled with what seemed to be a clash between his heritage of belief in the Bible and the research regarding ancient history and human evolution. This crisis of faith led him to embark on a quest to put both his archaeological education and the Bible to the test by seeking out the lost ancient city, an expedition that has led to one of the most exciting finds in recent archaeology. Challenging the assumptions of academics around the world, Discovering the City of Sodom may well inspire a revision of the history books. Dr. Collins has become a new voice in the controversy over using the Bible as a credible source of understanding the past—and opened a new chapter in the struggle over the soul of biblical archaeology.
