This book was released on 2015-12-29 with total page 473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Getting the right diagnosis is a key aspect of health care - it provides an explanation of a patient's health problem and informs subsequent health care decisions. The diagnostic process is a complex, collaborative activity that involves clinical reasoning and information gathering to determine a patient's health problem. According to Improving Diagnosis in Health Care, diagnostic errors-inaccurate or delayed diagnoses-persist throughout all settings of care and continue to harm an unacceptable number of patients. It is likely that most people will experience at least one diagnostic error in their lifetime, sometimes with devastating consequences. Diagnostic errors may cause harm to patients by preventing or delaying appropriate treatment, providing unnecessary or harmful treatment, or resulting in psychological or financial repercussions. The committee concluded that improving the diagnostic process is not only possible, but also represents a moral, professional, and public health imperative. Improving Diagnosis in Health Care, a continuation of the landmark Institute of Medicine reports To Err Is Human (2000) and Crossing the Quality Chasm (2001), finds that diagnosis-and, in particular, the occurrence of diagnostic errorsâ€"has been largely unappreciated in efforts to improve the quality and safety of health care. Without a dedicated focus on improving diagnosis, diagnostic errors will likely worsen as the delivery of health care and the diagnostic process continue to increase in complexity. Just as the diagnostic process is a collaborative activity, improving diagnosis will require collaboration and a widespread commitment to change among health care professionals, health care organizations, patients and their families, researchers, and policy makers. The recommendations of Improving Diagnosis in Health Care contribute to the growing momentum for change in this crucial area of health care quality and safety.

This book was released on 2017-05-03 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE) has been recognised as a one of the important pre-conditions to socio-economic and political developments of any society; particularly it is so in a developing society. The Government of India, recognising UEE as a goal of national importance has been putting every effort to achieve it. The provisions contained in the Article 45 of the Constitution of India insist on providing Free and Compulsory Elementary Education to all children. It may be observed however, that the present understanding of compulsory education is limited to compulsory schooling with physical enrollment of the child instead of facilitating the child to develop his/her academic interests.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1967, Reading and Remedial Reading describes the normal reading programme in the school where the author taught and the diagnosis and treatment of acute difficulties in learning to read. The work deals mainly with so-called educationally maladjusted children, many of whom showed signs of possible damage to the central nervous system, but Mr Tansley believes that the methods and techniques given are applicable to all children, irrespective of levels of intelligence, who are experiencing difficulties to learn. The results achieved are most encouraging and have been tested by numerous expert visitors from this country and abroad. This is a helpful guide to a large number of people- staffs and students in University Education Departments, educational psychologists, remedial teachers, special-school teachers, primary school teachers, and medical officers in the School Health Service.

Book Golden Rules of Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases

Download or read book Golden Rules of Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases written by Henry a Cables and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-06 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Golden Rules of Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases: Aphorisms, Observations, and Precepts on the Method of Examination and Diagnosis of Diseases, With Practical Rules for Proper Remedial Procedure Extensive treatises have been written on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, the number of the diseases considered and the character of their description varying in the various volumes devoted to these subjects. While these treatises serve their purpose, there are many urgent instances when the physician needs a book of ready reference of diagnosis, treatment, and remedial procedure. To meet this condition, and to assist the busy physician and the progressive student in obtaining the needed information readily and authentically, this book has been prepared. This book is an epitome of a careful and extensive examination of the literature on the subjects considered, supplemented by the author's experience in private and hospital practice, and the method of compilation and manner of presentation of demonstrated facts have been found to be the best for the purpose in view. Importance has been attached to the clinical methods of diagnosis, but at the same time the author feels that the laboratory has been drawn upon as often as necessary, as a physician who attempts to make all diagnoses by the laboratory route will find the way fraught with tedium and uncertainty.
