Book Reinforced Concrete Design

Download or read book Reinforced Concrete Design written by Abi O. Aghayere and published by Stylus Publishing, LLC. This book was released on 2024-01-30 with total page 1112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary objective of Reinforced Concrete Design, 10th Edition, is to provide a basic and thorough understanding of the strength and behavior of reinforced concrete members and structural systems. Featuring updated compliance with the ACI 318-19 Building Code for Structural Concrete, it covers details of reinforced concrete materials, mechanics of bending, slab systems and an in-depth analysis of continuous one-way and two-way floor systems, shear and torsion, and serviceability. There are also comprehensive chapters on structural walls, columns, foundations, and prestressed concrete fundamentals. Instructor ancillaries are also available. FEATURES: Features frequent references to the recent ACI Code updates, making it a vital companion for design and construction Includes practice-based examples and exercises to enhance real-world applications and understanding Illustrates procedures for the design of job-built forms for slabs, beams, and columns Covers basic principles to advanced concepts like the design of deep beams and pile caps, prestressed concrete, and concrete formwork design Adds new material on pole footings and Sonutube foundations, different types of concrete floor systems, and numerous new photos and drawings

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For over sixty years, the primary source for design of concrete structures--now revised and updated Simplified Design of Concrete Structures, Eighth Edition covers all the latest, commonly used concrete systems, practices, and research in the field, reinforced with examples of practical designs and general building structural systems. Updated to conform to current building codes, design practices, and industry standards. Simplified Design of Concrete Structures, Eighth Edition is a reliable, easy-to-use handbook that examines a wide range of concrete structures, building types, and construction details. It includes a wealth of illustrations, expanded text examples, exercise problems, and a helpful glossary. Highlights of this outstanding tool include: * Its use of the current American Concrete Institute Building Code for 2005 (ACI 318) and the Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) method of structural design * Fundamental and real-world coverage of concrete structures that assumes no previous experience * Valuable study aids such as exercise problems, questions, and word lists enhance usability

Book Building Structures

Download or read book Building Structures written by James Ambrose and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-10-18 with total page 546 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The comprehensive reference on the basics of structural analysis and design, now updated with the latest considerations of building technology Structural design is an essential element of the building process, yet one of the most difficult to learn. While structural engineers do the detailed consulting work for a building project, architects need to know enough structural theory and analysis to design a building. Most texts on structures for architects focus narrowly on the mathematical analysis of isolated structural components, yet Building Structures looks at the general concepts with selected computations to understand the role of the structure as a building subsystem—without the complicated mathematics. New to this edition is a complete discussion of the LRFD method of design, supplemented by the ASD method, in addition to: The fundamentals of structural analysis and design for architects A glossary, exercise problems, and a companion website and instructor's manual Material ideally suited for preparing for the ARE exam Profusely illustrated throughout with drawings and photographs, and including new case studies, Building Structures, Third Edition is perfect for nonengineers to understand and visualize structural design.

Book Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete ACI 318 08 and Commentary

Download or read book Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete ACI 318 08 and Commentary written by ACI Committee 318 and published by American Concrete Institute. This book was released on 2008 with total page 471 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The quality and testing of materials used in construction are covered by reference to the appropriate ASTM standard specifications. Welding of reinforcement is covered by reference to the appropriate AWS standard. Uses of the Code include adoption by reference in general building codes, and earlier editions have been widely used in this manner. The Code is written in a format that allows such reference without change to its language. Therefore, background details or suggestions for carrying out the requirements or intent of the Code portion cannot be included. The Commentary is provided for this purpose. Some of the considerations of the committee in developing the Code portion are discussed within the Commentary, with emphasis given to the explanation of new or revised provisions. Much of the research data referenced in preparing the Code is cited for the user desiring to study individual questions in greater detail. Other documents that provide suggestions for carrying out the requirements of the Code are also cited.
