Book Data Driven Model Free Controllers

Download or read book Data Driven Model Free Controllers written by Radu-Emil Precup and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-12-27 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book categorizes the wide area of data-driven model-free controllers, reveals the exact benefits of such controllers, gives the in-depth theory and mathematical proofs behind them, and finally discusses their applications. Each chapter includes a section for presenting the theory and mathematical definitions of one of the above mentioned algorithms. The second section of each chapter is dedicated to the examples and applications of the corresponding control algorithms in practical engineering problems. This book proposes to avoid complex mathematical equations, being generic as it includes several types of data-driven model-free controllers, such as Iterative Feedback Tuning controllers, Model-Free Controllers (intelligent PID controllers), Model-Free Adaptive Controllers, model-free sliding mode controllers, hybrid model‐free and model‐free adaptive‐Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning controllers, hybrid model-free and model-free adaptive fuzzy controllers and cooperative model-free controllers. The book includes the topic of optimal model-free controllers, as well. The optimal tuning of model-free controllers is treated in the chapters that deal with Iterative Feedback Tuning and Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning. Moreover, the extension of some model-free control algorithms to the consensus and formation-tracking problem of multi-agent dynamic systems is provided. This book can be considered as a textbook for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as a professional reference for industrial and academic researchers, attracting the readers from both industry and academia.

Book Embedded Control System Design

Download or read book Embedded Control System Design written by Alexandru Forrai and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-07-27 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control system design is a challenging task for practicing engineers. It requires knowledge of different engineering fields, a good understanding of technical specifications and good communication skills. The current book introduces the reader into practical control system design, bridging the gap between theory and practice. The control design techniques presented in the book are all model based., considering the needs and possibilities of practicing engineers. Classical control design techniques are reviewed and methods are presented how to verify the robustness of the design. It is how the designed control algorithm can be implemented in real-time and tested, fulfilling different safety requirements. Good design practices and the systematic software development process are emphasized in the book according to the generic standard IEC61508. The book is mainly addressed to practicing control and embedded software engineers - working in research and development – as well as graduate students who are faced with the challenge to design control systems and implement them in real-time.

Book Programmable Logic Controllers

Download or read book Programmable Logic Controllers written by Max Rabiee and published by Goodheart-Wilcox Publisher. This book was released on 2012-08-06 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Programmable Logic Controllers begins by covering the hardware and architecture of the Allen-Bradley Small Logic Controller (SLC 500) series of PLCs. I/O devices and motor controls are also covered as well as commonly used number systems, such as binary and BCD. PLC programming is introduced by reviewing and creating examples of relay ladder diagrams. In the following chapter, students are given guidelines and examples for creating PLC ladder diagrams based on relay ladder diagrams. Throughout the rest of the textbook, the most common PLC functions are presented, and practical examples are given based on the Allen-Bradley RSLogix programming software. The Laboratory Manual provides LogixPro activities that help students practice and hone their PLC programming skills. Included in the textbook is a CD-ROM containing LogixPro simulation software. The software allows students to practice and develop their programming skills when and where they want. LogixPro is not a replacement for RSLogix, nor is there support for file exchange or communication with actual Allen-Bradley products. LogixPro provides a complete software-based training solution, eliminating the need for expensive PLC equipment.

Download or read book Design of Reconfigurable Logic Controllers written by Andrei Karatkevich and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-12-23 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the original concepts and modern techniques for specification, synthesis, optimisation and implementation of parallel logical control devices. It deals with essential problems of reconfigurable control systems like dependability, modularity and portability. Reconfigurable systems require a wider variety of design and verification options than the application-specific integrated circuits. The book presents a comprehensive selection of possible design techniques. The diversity of the modelling approaches covers Petri nets, state machines and activity diagrams. The preferences of the presented optimization and synthesis methods are not limited to increasing of the efficiency of resource use. One of the biggest advantages of the presented methods is the platform independence, the FPGA devices and single board computers are some of the examples of possible platforms. These issues and problems are illustrated with practical cases of complete control systems. If you expect a new look at the reconfigurable systems designing process or need ideas for improving the quality of the project, this book is a good choice.g process or need ideas for improving the quality of the project, this book is a good choice.

Book Introduction to Microcontroller Programming for Power Electronics Control Applications

Download or read book Introduction to Microcontroller Programming for Power Electronics Control Applications written by Mattia Rossi and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-09-29 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microcontroller programming is not a trivial task. Indeed, it is necessary to set correctly the required peripherals by using programming languages like C/C++ or directly machine code. Nevertheless, MathWorks® developed a model-based workflow linked with an automatic code generation tool able to translate Simulink® schemes into executable files. This represents a rapid prototyping procedure, and it can be applied to many microcontroller boards available on the market. Among them, this introductory book focuses on the C2000 LaunchPadTM family from Texas InstrumentsTM to provide the reader basic programming strategies, implementation guidelines and hardware considerations for some power electronics-based control applications. Starting from simple examples such as turning on/off on-board LEDs, Analog-to-Digital conversion, waveform generation, or how a Pulse-Width-Modulation peripheral should be managed, the reader is guided through the settings of the specific MCU-related Simulink® blocks enabled for code translation. Then, the book proposes several control problems in terms of power management of RL and RLC loads (e.g., involving DC-DC converters) and closed-loop control of DC motors. The control schemes are investigated as well as the working principles of power converter topologies needed to drive the systems under investigation. Finally, a couple of exercises are proposed to check the reader’s understanding while presenting a processor-in-the loop (PIL) technique to either emulate the dynamics of complex systems or testing computational performance. Thus, this book is oriented to graduate students of electrical and automation and control engineering pursuing a curriculum in power electronics and drives, as well as to engineers and researchers who want to deepen their knowledge and acquire new competences in the design and implementations of control schemes aimed to the aforementioned application fields. Indeed, it is assumed that the reader is well acquainted with fundamentals of electrical machines and power electronics, as well as with continuous-time modeling strategies and linear control techniques. In addition, familiarity with sampled-data, discrete-time system analysis and embedded design topics is a plus. However, even if these competences are helpful, they are not essential, since this book provides some basic knowledge even to whom is approaching these topics for the first time. Key concepts are developed from scratch, including a brief review of control theory and modeling strategies for power electronic-based systems.
