On définit ensuite les valeurs propres à epsilon-près et les valeurs propres approchées d'un opérateur multivoque, concepts qui ont été étudiés dans le cas des opérateurs linéaires et qui donnent une information supplémentaire à celle des valeurs propres usuelles. On utilise aussi les notions de valeurs et vecteurs propres dans l'étude asymptotique d'un système dynamique discret gouverné par un processus convexe. Ensuite on propose une méthode pour construire des solutions régulières pour une inclusion différentielle de premier ordre définie par un processus convexe et on présente quelques résultats de stabilité par rapport aux conditions initiales. Avec ces hypothèses, on montre l’existence d’une famille de solutions homoclines aux solutions d’équilibre près de l’origine. Ces solutions homoclines sont symétriques et leur décroissance à l’infini est algébrique. Elles sont approchées à l’ordre principal par l’onde solitaire de Benjamin-Ono. On montre également l’existence d’une famille à deux paramètres de solutions périodiques qui sont solutions à l’ordre principal de l’équation de Benjamin-Ono pour les fonctions périodiques. Ces résultats s’appliquent en théorie des vagues pour la recherche d’ondes progressives dans deux couches superposées de fluides parfaits, la couche inférieur étant de profondeur infinie, la couche supérieure étant bornée par une surface rigide ou ayant une surface libre avec une grande tension de surface. On obtient ainsi une famille d’ondes solitaires ainsi qu’une famille à deux paramètres de vagues périodiques.

Franck Laloë was a researcher at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. His first assignment was with the University of Paris VI before he was appointed to the CNRS, the French National Research Center. His research was focused on optical pumping, statistical mechanics of quantum gases, musical acoustics and the foundations of quantum mechanics.

The common denominator of the essays is a critique of the representative agent hypothesis. If this hypothesis were correct, the behaviour of the aggregate variable would simply be the reproduction of individual optimising behaviour. In the methodology of the hard sciences, one of the achievements of the quantum revolution has been the rebuttal of the notion that aggregate behaviour can be explained on the basis of the behaviour of a single unit: the elementary particle does not even exist as a single entity but as a network, a system of interacting units. In this book, new tracks in economics which parallel the developments in physics mentioned above are explored. The essays, in fact are contributions to the analysis of the economy as a complex evolving system of interacting agents.
