Book Expansion and Contraction Within Being

Download or read book Expansion and Contraction Within Being written by Salaheddin Ali Nader Shah Angha and published by M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi. This book was released on 2001 with total page 485 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the book: A meticulous scientific presentation of the unity of being, (one unified being) presented by the contemporary Aref (Sufi Master) and teacher, Molana Salaheddin Ali Nader Shah Angha (Hazrat Pir). This inspired manuscript presents a fresh view of the essence within as well as beyond the frontiers of almost 12 billion light years of cosmic expansion. Expansion and Contraction within Being (DAHM) deals with the foremost, cutting edge problems of science, including biology, immunology, molecular physics, cosmology, and neurology, to name a few. For example, Hazrat Pir unifies the seemingly various forces of Nature by demonstrating that it is the amount of Expansion and Contraction which is the only factor needed for specifying the dynamic variables of a particle or a system. Hazrat Pir's surge of intuitive knowledge and wisdom, especially in this book, is truly an illumination to the pathways of scientists' search for the truth. This book should be studied deeply by anyone interested in a scientific approach toward understanding the truth of the vast and united Existence. About the author: Known as Hazrat Pir, His holiness Molana Salaheddin Ali Nader Shah Angha is the forty-second in an unbroken succession of eminent Sufi masters dating back to the seventh century He is the head of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi Sufi Order. Hazrat Pir's knowledge is not limited to the esoteric disciplines or sacred sciences, but expands to other disciplines, including physics, mathematics, astrophysics, astronomy, bio-physics, architecture, and philosophy. The author of numerous works in poetry and prose, the school has grown under his tutelage to include over 400,000 students worldwide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sufi mystic and poet Jalaluddin Rumi is most beloved for his poems expressing the ecstasies and mysteries of love in all its forms—erotic, platonic, divine—and Coleman Barks presents the best of them in this delightful and inspiring collection. Rendered with freshness, intensity, and beauty as Barks alone can do, these startling and rich poems range from the "wholeness" one experiences with a true lover, to the grief of a lover's loss, and all the states in between: from the madness of sudden love to the shifting of a romance to deep friendship to the immersion in divine love. Rumi, the ultimate poet of love, explores all "the magnificent regions of the heart," and he opens you to the lover within. Coleman Barks has made this medieval, Persian-born (present-day Afghanistan) poetic and spiritual genius the most popular poet in America today. This seductive volume reveals Rumi's charms and depths more than any other.

Book The Medieval Frontiers of Latin Christendom

Download or read book The Medieval Frontiers of Latin Christendom written by Felipe Fernandez-Armesto and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-05-15 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this first volume in the series "The Expansion of Latin Europe" is to sketch the outlines of medieval expansion, illustrating some of the major topics that historians have examined in the course of demonstrating the links between medieval and modern experiences. The articles reprinted here show that European expansion began not in 1492 following Columbus's voyages but earlier as European Christian society re-arose from the ruins of the Carolingian Empire. The two phases of expansion were linked but the second period did not simply replicate the medieval experience. Medieval expansion occurred as farmers, merchants, and missionaries reduced forests to farmland and pasture, created new towns, and converted the peoples encountered along the frontiers to Christianity. Later colonizers subsequently adapted the medieval experience to suit their new frontiers in the New World.

Book excerpt: From beloved Zen teacher Norman Fischer, a collection of essays spanning a life of inquiry into Zen practice, relationship, social engagement, and spiritual creativity. "Looking backwards at a life lived, walking forward into more life to live built on all that, trying not to be too much influenced by what's already been said and done, not to be held to a point of view or an identity previously expressed, trying to be surprised and undone and maybe even dismayed by what lies ahead."--Norman Fischer Norman Fischer is a Zen priest, poet, and translator whose writings, teachings, and commitment to interfaith dialogue have supported and inspired Buddhist, Jewish, and other spiritual practitioners for decades. When You Greet Me I Bow spans the entirety of Norman Fischer's career and is the first collection of his writings on Buddhist philosophy and practice. Broken into four sections--the joy and catastrophe of relationship; thinking, writing, and emptiness; cultural encounters; and social engagement--this book allows us to see the fascinating development of the mind and interests of a gifted writer and profoundly committed practitioner.

Book The Dynamics of Change in Higher Education

Download or read book The Dynamics of Change in Higher Education written by Svein Kyvik and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-12-25 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In most Western European countries, higher education has to an increasing extent been developing outside universities, partly through the establishment of new ins- tutions, and partly through the upgrading of professional and vocational schools into higher education colleges. The main trend in countries with a binary system has been that student numbers have increased more in the college sector than in the university sector. Yet, there is a shortage of in-depth studies on the changes that have taken place in this part of the educational system, and on the processes that have driven this development. The aim of this book is to improve our understanding of these processes, through developing concepts and theoretical perspectives which might offer new insights of complex phenomena. This book is based upon a large number of studies on college education in Norway and in other Western European countries. I have studied change processes in this field over a period stretching back to the late 1970s (Kyvik 1981), and this book synthesises my former publications, as well as updates the development until August 2008, and presents new analyses based on my gradual attainment of deeper insight into the processes that have taken place.

Book Tensor Network Contractions

Download or read book Tensor Network Contractions written by Shi-Ju Ran and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-01-27 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tensor network is a fundamental mathematical tool with a huge range of applications in physics, such as condensed matter physics, statistic physics, high energy physics, and quantum information sciences. This open access book aims to explain the tensor network contraction approaches in a systematic way, from the basic definitions to the important applications. This book is also useful to those who apply tensor networks in areas beyond physics, such as machine learning and the big-data analysis. Tensor network originates from the numerical renormalization group approach proposed by K. G. Wilson in 1975. Through a rapid development in the last two decades, tensor network has become a powerful numerical tool that can efficiently simulate a wide range of scientific problems, with particular success in quantum many-body physics. Varieties of tensor network algorithms have been proposed for different problems. However, the connections among different algorithms are not well discussed or reviewed. To fill this gap, this book explains the fundamental concepts and basic ideas that connect and/or unify different strategies of the tensor network contraction algorithms. In addition, some of the recent progresses in dealing with tensor decomposition techniques and quantum simulations are also represented in this book to help the readers to better understand tensor network. This open access book is intended for graduated students, but can also be used as a professional book for researchers in the related fields. To understand most of the contents in the book, only basic knowledge of quantum mechanics and linear algebra is required. In order to fully understand some advanced parts, the reader will need to be familiar with notion of condensed matter physics and quantum information, that however are not necessary to understand the main parts of the book. This book is a good source for non-specialists on quantum physics to understand tensor network algorithms and the related mathematics.

Book Expansion Joints in Buildings

Download or read book Expansion Joints in Buildings written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 1974-02-01 with total page 53 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many factors affect the amount of temperature-induced movement that occurs in a building and the extent to which this movement can occur before serious damage develops or extensive maintenance is required. In some cases joints are being omitted where they are needed, creating a risk of structural failures or causing unnecessary operations and maintenance costs. In other cases, expansion joints are being used where they are not required, increasing the initial cost of construction and creating space utilization problems. As of 1974, there were no nationally acceptable procedures for precise determination of the size and the location of expansion joints in buildings. Most designers and federal construction agencies individually adopted and developed guidelines based on experience and rough calculations leading to significant differences in the various guidelines used for locating and sizing expansion joints. In response to this complex problem, Expansion Joints in Buildings: Technical Report No. 65 provides federal agencies with practical procedures for evaluating the need for through-building expansion joints in structural framing systems. The report offers guidelines and criteria to standardize the practice of expansion joints in buildings and decrease problems associated with the misuse of expansions joints. Expansions Joints in Buildings: Technical Report No. 65 also makes notable recommendations concerning expansion, isolation, joints, and the manner in which they permit separate segments of the structural frame to expand and to contract in response to temperature fluctuations without adversely affecting the buildings structural integrity or serviceability.
