Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jeon’s Biblical Eschatology explores the pattern of covenant eschatology, demonstrated and revealed in the Bible throughout redemptive history. In a sense, it is a revolutionary method to freshly examine and look at the entire redemptive history from the perspective of covenant eschatology because the Bible itself is the covenantal canon. Readers will marvel at how the author unpacks the pictorial pattern of covenant eschatology progressively revealed in the Bible. As we live in the Global Mission Age under the grace of God, it is vitally important and necessary to have a proper view of eschatology. Jeon’s book will guide believers to a biblically balanced understanding of eschatology and properly equip them with a biblical, covenantal, and eschatological worldview to live their lives for the glory of God, actively participating in the Global Mission under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we eagerly wait for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Book Dispensational Eschatology

Download or read book Dispensational Eschatology written by James D. Quiggle and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-04 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Eschatology is the doctrine of the end times. Dispensational Eschatology is the story of how God keeps his promises to Israel and the church when the end times arrives. The book begins with a brief review and defense of dispensational theology. The question of hermeneutics (interpretive methodology) is thoroughly examined, with a separate chapter on hermeneutics for eschatology. Then Dispensational eschatology is thoroughly discussed and contrasted with related issues in Covenant eschatology. Is the New Testament Church the New Israel, as Covenant theology claims? Are the Rapture and Second Advent two separate events, one advent, or both? What are the differences between the judgment of the church and the judgment at the end of the age? Does Christ reign a thousand years (the Davidic-Messianic-Millennial Kingdom)? Is there a Tribulation, or is it just tribulation? Is Christ's advent before or after the millennium? These questions are answered from Scripture. A discussion of words pertinent to eschatology with biblical definitions is included. James Quiggle is the author of nine Old and New Testament commentaries and five books on biblical doctrines. All are available in print and in ebook/epub formats from online retailers.

Download or read book Covenant and Communion written by Scott W. Hahn and published by Brazos Press. This book was released on 2009-10-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger's election as Pope Benedict XVI brought a world-class biblical theologian to the papacy. There is an intensely biblical quality to his pastoral teaching and he has demonstrated a keen concern for the authentic interpretation of sacred Scripture. Here a foremost interpreter of Catholic thought and life offers a probing look at Benedict's biblical theology and provides a clear and concise introduction to his life and work. Bestselling author and theologian Scott Hahn argues that the heart of Benedict's theology is salvation history and the Bible and shows how Benedict accepts historical criticism but recognizes its limits. The author also explains how Benedict reads the overall narrative of Scripture and how he puts it to work in theology, liturgy, and Christian discipleship.

Book Biblical Eschatology

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jonathan Menn
  • Publisher : Resource Publications (OR)
  • Release : 2013-09-04
  • ISBN : 9781620325797
  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Biblical Eschatology written by Jonathan Menn and published by Resource Publications (OR). This book was released on 2013-09-04 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Biblical Eschatology provides what is not found in any other single volume on eschatology: it analyzes all the major eschatological passages (including the Olivet Discourse and the book of Revelation), issues (including the second coming of Christ, the millennium, the rapture, and Antichrist), and positions (including all the major views of the millennium) in a clear, but not superficial, way. The book concludes with a chapter showing how eschatology is relevant for our lives. Biblical Eschatology makes understanding eschatology easier by including chapters on how to interpret prophecy and apocalyptic literature, by showing the history of eschatological thought, and by placing eschatology in the context of the Bible's overall story line and structure. Clarity and understanding are enhanced by the use of comparative tables and appendices. Subject and Scripture indexes are included. The book interacts with the best of Evangelical and Reformed scholarship, and the extensive bibliography (which includes the Web addresses of many resources that are online) provides an excellent source for the reader's further study. This is a perfect resource for intelligent Christians, including pastors, students, and teachers, who desire to understand eschatology and to see how it fits together with the rest of the Bible.

Book He Shall Have Dominion

Download or read book He Shall Have Dominion written by Kenneth L. Gentry and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 648 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Author of dominionist title 'Before Jerusalem Fell' and leaning toward a preteristic approach to Revelation ... Gentry does a good job of explaining the issue, showing the points of dispute and different interpretations between dispensationalism / premillennialism, amillennialism, and postmillennialism. It's hinted at throughout the book--and blatantly obvious in the appendices--that Gentry believes that postmillennialism directly leads to the acceptance of theonomy and perhaps the Christian Reconstruction movement, which prescribes Old Covenant law as the basis for civil governments. Gentry argues errors in dispensationalism and gives reasons to prefer postmillennialism over amillennialism, but fails to provide a fair reason that the Kingdom of God on earth equals the continuance of the Law. Gentry needs a more comprehensive description of how theonomy complements postmillennialism and how this might practically be approached in the present days. -- From Amazon.com review.
