Book Commentary to the Faith of Shia Islam by Allama Al Muzaffar

Download or read book Commentary to the Faith of Shia Islam by Allama Al Muzaffar written by Allama al-Muzaffar and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-19 with total page 630 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book Aqaed Imamiyya by Allama Muzaffar is a great book outlining the faith of Shia Islam. It is usually studied in the first years of Howza 'Ilmiyya (seminary). The book is a very brief outline of our beliefs and thus the teacher usually expands on the subjects to give further knowledge to his students. I originally studied this text with Sheikh Mustafa Akhound in early 2014. In 2016 I was asked to teach this book for Imam Mahdi Online Howza. I started preparing my lessons to record and decided to make them into book form for everyone to benefit from them. The formatting of this book is as follows: the original Arabic text is presented first, the translation of the text is second bracketed in bold text and lastly is my commentary of the text which is in regular font. When looking at each topic I chose to bring more evidences to support the proofs of Allama Muzaffar in attempt to remove any shadow of a doubt within the readers mind. I brought Quranic verses, narrations, logic and various scholars opinions. I also addressed some common doubts and misconceptions that people have in hopes to erase those doubts. Lastly, I brought moral and ethical points to show the practical application of some of these topics that Allama Muzaffar has brought within his book.

Download or read book The Mystery of the Shia written by Mateen J. Charbonneau and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2013-05-20 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Knowing the contents of this informative book is a necessity for every Muslim. I believe that the contents of this book can have a huge impact on the lives of many Muslims in the West, and it can be a good start for gaining more knowledge about the religion of Islam. I would also encourage the Muslim community to appreciate and support this work. I want to take this opportunity to thank brother Mateen for his hard work and efforts. May Allah (SWT) increase his blessings and bestow His mercy upon him.”- Sheikh Mustafa Akhound, Imam Ali Center, Springfield VAThe idea that prompted me to write this book was due to the fact that so many new converts to Shia Islam would always ask me why we did things differently than other sects. They would be exposed to different things upon going to various mosques. They would ask me why people pray with their hands by their sides while others would fold their arms, why was the call to prayer different, what is that “stone” we prostrate on, etc.? I used to find myself explaining these things on a daily basis, so I decided to write these questions and answers down and share them with people who came to me. That was the first phase of this project. Later on I decided to add the Usul-e-Deen (roots of religion) and Furu-e-Deen (branches of religion) being that these differ from other schools of thought as well. After I looked at what I had put together I thought that this would be a very beneficial piece of information for new converts to Islam. This was designed to help them not only to learn why Shia believe and practice the way we do, but also to learn with clear proofs from the sources. I then proceeded to add a few other chapters to help give a good basic foundation for one to start in their quest for knowledge. In total this work deals with a variety of topics including:• Usul-e-Deen• Furu-e-Deen• The Word Shia and its Meaning• The 30 rights of a Muslim• Forbidden acts of a Muslim• Some Important Dates and Things to Know• Cleanliness in Islam• Wudhu• Salat• Ahadith showing the importance of knowing the Ahl ul Bayt (as)• Why we say bismillah aloud in salat• Why we say hayya ala khayril amal in adhan• Why we dont fold our hands in salat• Why we takbir 3 times after salat• Why we dont say as-salatu khayrum min nawm in our fajr adhan• Why we say taslim once while looking straight instead of turning our head right and left• Why we prostrate on turbah• Why we say aliyan waliyallah in our adhan and iqamah

Download or read book Sh ism Im mate Wil yat written by Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi and published by Al-Ma‘ãrif Publications. This book was released on 2000 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shí‘ism or Shí‘a Islam is the second largest sect of the Muslim world. The central theme of Shí‘a theology is the position, rights, and qualities that the Imams of Ahlul Bayt possess. Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi starts with a brief discussion on the origin of the Shí‘a Islamic faith, and whether it was political in nature or religious. In Chapter II, he surveys the seIf-censorship exercised by Muslim historians at early as well as modern eras, and how events related to Shí‘ism were suppressed in order to appease the rulers. Chapter III expounds on how the Orientalists have dealt with the Ghadír Khumm event: either it is ignored or if quoted, then interpreted to safeguard the interest of the majority Muslims. S.M. Rizvi also discusses the literal and contextual meaning of “mawla" which has great bearing on the issue of Imãmat and khilãfat of ‘Ali bin Abí Tãlib. Chapter IV, he surveys the current dispute on the explicitness versus implicitness of ‘Ali’s appointment to the position of imãmate and Khãlifat. This is followed by a chapter on the concept of ‘Ahlul Bayt’ in the Qur’ãn and the sunnah. Chapter VI deals with the wilãyat, the position and authority of the Imam, and its scope from the Qur’ãnic point of view. The treatise ends with a discussion on the esoteric knowledge that the Prophets and the Imams possess and its relevance to their personal life.

Book Christians Who Defended and Died for Prophet Muhammad and His Family

Download or read book Christians Who Defended and Died for Prophet Muhammad and His Family written by Mateen Charbonneau and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2012-06-18 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In researching Islamic history I have found in many cases that some of the Christian's who lived during the time of the Holy Prophet (pbuh), and also during the times of the 12 imam's from his Holy household (pbut), stood up for them when they were being oppressed. It makes you wonder, why did these people stand up to defend the Prophet and his family when they belonged to a different religion? The Prophet and his family's character were so impressive to people that even the idol worshippers, who hated him, could not come up with anything bad to say about his morals. The Prophet's title, even before the Prophet hood, was Al-Ameen (the trustworthy) and As-Saadiq (the truthful). These Holy personalities shined their light on everyone they came in contact with. It was amazing for people to witness such sublime morality in a human being. Also during their times they treated everyone equitably and just. The Christian's felt safe under the Prophet and Imam Ali's rule and they were taken care of by them. The Ahl ul Bayt (The Prophet and his family) felt it their duty to help their fellow human being if they were able to do so. When the Christians witnessed the Prophet's family being oppressed some of the monks acknowledged the right of their Imamate (divine leadership) and they stood up for justice and died defending them.In this humble attempt I have compiled some historical accounts of Muhammad (pbuh) and his Family's treatment towards Christian's during their respected times. Also I have included historical accounts of Christian's who protected the Holy Prophet and some who gladly laid down their lives for his Holy family. I hope this book will show the reader of how the true relationship between Islam and Christianity was and how it should be today. This is the Islam that was practiced by Muhammad and his Family, not the Islam that was hijacked by the corrupt rulers after our Prophet's martyrdom. Prophet Muhammad treated everyone with justice and equality, but the rulers who took away the divine leadership from his family performed a lot of terrible deeds in the name of Islam. We need to recognize the bad things these corrupt rulers did and disassociate them and their actions from Islam and show people the true form of Islam as taught to us by our Prophet Muhammad and his Household. It is up to us as God fearing people to bridge the gaps that have been built between the two religions of Christianity and Islam and to treat each other kindly with the aim to please the one and only God that created us all. Imam Ali is reported as saying "Know that people are of two types: they are either your brothers in religion or your equals in creation." Mateen J. Charbonneau

Book The Other Shiites

Download or read book The Other Shiites written by Alessandro Monsutti and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2007 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shia Islam is a central issue in contemporary politics. Often associated with Iran, Shiite communities actually exist in many Islamic countries. Focusing on the «other Shiites» outside Iran, this book offers a survey of their diversity and multiplicity in the last two centuries. The contributions cover three major topics. The first part deals with the relationship of Shia minorities to the Sunni regimes. Secondly the public affirmation of their identities through specific rituals and social attitudes is analysed. Finally, the third part of this volume examines the strengthening of these identities through traditional religious rituals and cultural performances, or through the re-interpretation and adaptation of these to present-day life. Coming from various academic backgrounds, the authors have used different methodologies and have been engaged in field-work.
