This book was released on 2014 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 150 years have witnessed the presence of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. With the donation of land by the Kaur and Merens families, St. Mary's began quite simply with a log church in 1864. The original four families from Luxemburg and the original members of a small faith community. With the mere passage of two decades, the increasing number of immigrants made it necessary to build a new stone church in 1883. This parish community continued to grow and in 1906, a new addition was added forming a cruciform church building. Its steeple became a landmark for the early settlers and since 1883 has been the eye catching symbol for St. Mary's. Once more in 1998, St. Mary's Church was increased in size with its much needed spacious hall. The continued growth of St. Mary's in size and in membership has made the Immaculate Conception parish a vibrant and active faith filled community.

Book The Windsor Report 2004

Download or read book The Windsor Report 2004 written by Lambeth Commission on Communion and published by Morehouse Publishing. This book was released on 2004 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Lambeth Commission, established by the Archbishop of Canterbury, was charged with examining the legal and theological implications flowing from the Episcopal Church's decision to appoint a priest in a committed same sex relationship as a bishop and the Canadian Diocese of New Westminster's authorization of services for same sex unions. It was also charged with examining and making practical suggestions about how the provinces of the Anglican Communion may relate when they feel unable to remain in full communion with one another. The report focuses on reconciliation. The Primates' Standing Committee of the Anglican Communion called the commission's unanimous endorsement of the report "a sign of hope." "If there is a real desire to walk together in our discipleship of Christ," the Primates' Committee said in a statement, "then a course can be plotted to maintain the highest degree of Communion possible, in spite of differences about the way in which Christ's Gospel is to be interpreted in a diverse and troubled world."

Book excerpt: Boasting the longest run in the history of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, The Righteous Are Bold came to Broadway under the aegis of Eddie Dowling with the original Abbey cast. The play itself opens with the return from England of a young Irish girl. It is apparent that she is strangely different from the girl who left. She bears peculiar marks on her body, and in uncontrolled moments this once-religious girl is fiercely profane and anti-Christ. The doctor and the priest are summoned. The doctor prescribes; but the priest knows the girl to be possessed of the devil, and traces the possession to the time when she served in a seance for money. The priest undertakes to exorcise, and in a harrowing scene he succeeds; at the end he is discovered dead.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The remote, rugged, rough country of North West Ulster possesses buildings as varied as its landscape. Monuments of the Celtic church - sculptured cross-slabs, high crosses and round towers - and medieval tower houses survive from its earliest centuries. Fortified houses from the Plantation period are succeeded by Georgian mansions, and the richly varied urban and rural buildings of the Victorian period. In its churches both Protestant and Catholic, North West Ulster shows itself no less diverse.
