In this way, the efficiency of the flashlamp is found to be 2.2% while its temperature is calculated to be 7100 K. Problems in the use of the flashlamp are also discussed. This flashlamp has subsequently been used as the pump source in a flashlamp-pumped dye laser giving a maximum untuned output of 1.2 J at the wavelength region of 650 nm - 660 nm.
