Download or read book Through the Thicket written by Ivan W. Bowden and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2017-12-22 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unceremoniously dismissed from his lectureship in New Testament, Dr. Edward J. Sutherland uses his forced retirement to struggle through a thicket of end-times issues in a conservative church. Interaction with a defense lawyer induces him to reconsider his inherited eschatology by engaging honestly with the biblical text. He faces conflict within himself, with a crusading dispensationalist, church elders, a newly appointed American pastor, and a militant atheist. Set in the Sunshine Coast of subtropical Australia, the book goes beyond entertaining through romance, touches of humor, and conflict resolution. Readers are exposed to vigorous discussions: at a surf club, a backyard barbecue, a second-coming conference, in a neighbor's lounge room, or via email. They are forced to examine their presuppositions on topics including the rapture, the antichrist, the tribulation, the purpose of Christ's second coming, and the kingdom of God. Whether they alter their views on such topics is less important than that they cultivate sound principles of biblical interpretation, uphold the integrity of Jesus and the biblical authors, and respect fellow Christians with whom they disagree.

Book Cavapoo Handbook

  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Cavapoo Handbook written by Ralph Hooks and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2024-08-08 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A lovely and adorable designer dog breed, the Cavapoo (also called the Cavoodle in Australia) is a mix between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. During the peak of hybrid dog popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s, this breed came into being. Breeders aimed to blend the intelligence and minimal shedding coat of the Poodle with the finest qualities of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, which is recognized for its kind and loving disposition. With this mix, we want to produce a hypoallergenic, amiable companion that can be used by both people and families. Named after King Charles II of England, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has a rich and lengthy history that dates back to the 17th century. Nobility and monarchy loved these dogs because of their endearing looks and gentle disposition. In contrast, the Poodle has a richer and more varied past. Poodles were originally developed as water retrievers in Germany, but they were also excellent hunters and game retrievers. They developed into the breed we know today as they gained popularity in France over time and were prized for their hypoallergenic traits and intelligence. The Cavapoo was created by combining these two breeds to create a companion dog that has the greatest qualities from both parents. As a consequence, a breed of intelligent, lively, and lovable dogs that can adapt well to a wide range of living conditions has been created. Cavapoo Temperament and Characteristics Cavapoos are tiny to medium-sized canines that usually weigh between 10 and 25 pounds and have shoulder heights of 9 to 14 inches. Their coats may be cream, fawn, chocolate, gold, chestnut, or tri-colored, and they are often silky, wavy, or curly. For allergy sufferers in particular, their low-shedding coat is a draw, but frequent brushing is necessary to keep their hair healthy and avoid matting. The temperament of the Cavapoo is one of its most beloved characteristics. These canines are renowned for being lovable, gregarious, and friendly. They are known to build close relationships with their families and to thrive on social engagement. Cavapoos are wonderful family pets since they get along well with most kids. If they are properly socialized from an early age, they are also known to get along nicely with other pets. The cleverness of the Cavapoo is another noteworthy quality. Their intelligence, which comes from the Poodle side, makes them rather simple to teach. They pick things up quickly and react well to play, rewards, and other forms of positive reinforcement. They are able to learn a wide range of skills, from simple obedience to more difficult tricks and jobs, because of their desire to please their owners and their enjoyment of entertaining pastimes.
