Book Canadian Crude Oil Supply Demand Balances

Download or read book Canadian Crude Oil Supply Demand Balances written by James N. Tanner and published by Calgary : Canadian Energy Research Institute. This book was released on 1989 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study examines the existing situation relating to crude oil supply and refined petroleum product demand in Canada and, based on reasonable assumptions regarding future energy prices and economic development, provides an analysis of likely future paths of crude oil supply-demand balances. An assessment is conducted of conventional, nonconventional and frontier sources of crude oil supply, along with an evaluation of the oil megaproject agreements announced in 1988. The supply projections are set against a forecast of Canadian refined petroleum product demand and the resulting light and heavy oil balances are examined.

Download or read book Transporting Crude Oil by U S Rail written by Rosario S. McLaughlin and published by Nova Science Publishers. This book was released on 2014 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: North America is experiencing a boom in crude oil supply, primarily due to growing production in the Canadian oil sands and the recent expansion of shale oil production from the Bakken fields in North Dakota and Montana as well as the Eagle Ford and Permian Basins in Texas. Taken together, these new supplies are fundamentally changing the U.S. oil supply-demand balance. The United States now meets 66% of its crude oil demand from production in North America, displacing imports from overseas and positioning the United States to have excess oil and refined products supplies in some regions. This book provides a background of the United States rail transportation of crude oil, as well as discusses the issues it leaves for Congress.

This book was released on 2003-01-01 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report adopts a scenario-based approach to help better understand the forces impacting Canada's energy environment and to address the uncertainties & issues associated with evolving energy markets. It examines two distinct scenarios of Canada's energy future for the public to consider: the supply push scenario, in which technology advances gradually and Canadians take limited action with respect to the environment; and the techno-vert scenario, representing a world in which technology advances rapidly and Canadians take broad actions with respect to the environment & the accompanying preference for environmentally friendly products & cleaner-burning fuels. Projections are made for energy demand in total and in the residential, commercial, industrial, & transportation sectors, plus non-energy demand for hydrocarbons; and for energy supply (production and supply/demand balances) in the electricity, crude oil, natural gas liquids, natural gas, and coal sectors. Issues & implications for demand & supply are discussed. Includes glossary.
