Book Biblical Meaning of the Translated Words Truth and the Truth in the New Testament Scriptures

Download or read book Biblical Meaning of the Translated Words Truth and the Truth in the New Testament Scriptures written by Repsaj Jasper and published by . This book was released on 2013-12-15 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Believers need to understand that the God is the Standard for everything including the definition and meaning of words as revealed in the Bible especially in the New Testament Scriptures. There are many translated words from the original text of the New Testament such as love ("agape"), to love("agapao"), good("agathos" or "kalos"), righteous)("dikaios"), evil("poneros" or "kakos"), faith("pistis"), truth("aletheia"), etc., that cannot be correctly understood when the meanings are taken from world dictionaries nor from experts in Hebrew and Greek languages. For example, the biblical meaning of love("agape") is that The God is love(1 John 5:8,16). Mankind are NOT love! Accordingly, only One, the God is able to love("agapao"), no mankind is able to love("agapao"). This is the bible definition of love("agape") and to love("agapao"). This Book 26 reveals the biblical meaning of the translated words truth and the truth. Truth in the original Greek text is "aletheia." A typical world or mankind definition of truth is: truthfulness; constancy; actuality; accuracy or adjustment; an established fact; known facts; knowledge(Chambers Twentieth Century dictionary. New Edition, by M. Macdonald 1972), According to the world dictionary any one can speak the truth, while the biblical definition of "aletheia" or truth is that "the word of the God is truth." And that "Jesus Christ is the truth." This means any mankind who speaks accurately of what actually happens is only speaking a fact, but is not speaking "truth" because only the word of the God is "truth." Paul in Romans 3:4 revealed that the God came into being or exists as "true"("alethes") but every mankind a "falsifier"("pseustes"). This means that no mankind came/comes into being as "true" and therefore whatever any mankind speak cannot be "truth"("aletheia") unless mankind speak "the word of the God" or mankind are led by the God through His Son, Jesus Christ by His Spirit to speak His word. The biblical definitions of "truth"("aletheia") and "the truth"("ho aletheia") are given in John 17:17 and John 14:6. "Truth" and "the truth" are also linked to the God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and also to holy, holiness, righteous, righteousness, love and faith and the gospel of salvation. In fact only when true believers are made holy in "the truth" of the God will they be able to enter into the kingdom of the God or to receive everlasting life. This Book translates every scripture in the New Testament Greek Received Text concerning "truth" ("aletheia") and "the truth"("ho aletheia") and its importance to the salvation of every true believer.

Book excerpt: The ancient Greek word for "truth" means unconcealing or unforgetting. Yet today many ideas and stories that were once critical to how early Christians understood, practiced, and defended their faith often remain "hidden in plain sight" in our Bibles. These ideas are concealed from us by the distance between languages, between eras, and between cultures-yet they are so worth unconcealing and unforgetting. In this book, discover: The forgotten women who co-founded Christianity Whether the first-century church thought there was a hell What happens when you realize that in Greek, faith is a verb Why gender in the Bible is more complicated than we think Which concepts our modern tradition takes for granted that would have been alien to the original readers (like homophobia) We have also forgotten that to read the Bible is to receive an invitation to adventure-to encounter the impossible, to move mountains, to walk on water. Instead, we have been taught to read the Bible tamely, to make no choices, to risk no questioning of our tradition. What would happen if we took the adventure? If we readers walked out into the wilderness toward God, leaving home far behind? If we stepped out of the boat of our received tradition, out onto the crashing waves? Let's find out.

Book Canaan and Israel in Antiquity A Textbook on History and Religion

Download or read book Canaan and Israel in Antiquity A Textbook on History and Religion written by K. L. Noll and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This comprehensive classic textbook represents the most recent approaches to the biblical world by surveying Palestine's social, political, economic, religious and ecological changes from Palaeolithic to Roman eras. Designed for beginners with little knowledge of the ancient world, and with copious illustrations and charts, it explains how and why academic study of the past is undertaken, as well as the differences between historical and theological scholarship and the differences between ancient and modern genres of history writing. Classroom tested chapters emphasize the authenticity of the Bible as a product of an ancient culture, and the many problems with the biblical narrative as a historical source. Neither "maximalist" nor "minimalist'" it is sufficiently general to avoid confusion and to allow the assignment of supplementary readings such as biblical narratives and ancient Near Eastern texts. This new edition has been fully revised, incorporating new graphics and English translations of Near Eastern inscriptions. New material on the religiously diverse environment of Ancient Israel taking into account the latest archaeological discussions brings this book right up to date.

Book Translating Truth Foreword by J I Packer

Download or read book Translating Truth Foreword by J I Packer written by C. John Collins and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2005-11-08 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Which translation do I choose? In an age when there is a wide choice of English Bible translations, the issues involved in Bible translating are steadily gaining interest. Consumers often wonder what separates one Bible version from another. The contributors to this book argue that there are significant differences between literal translations and the alternatives. The task of those who employ an essentially literal Bible translation philosophy is to produce a translation that remains faithful to the original languages, preserving as much of the original form and meaning as possible while still communicating effectively and clearly in the receptors' languages. Translating Truth advocates essentially literal Bible translation and in an attempt to foster an edifying dialogue concerning translation philosophy. It addresses what constitutes "good" translation, common myths about word-for-word translations, and the importance of preserving the authenticity of the Bible text. The essays in this book offer clear and enlightening insights into the foundational ideas of essentially literal Bible translation.

In the pages of Dante's Heart, join Mara the naiad, the monster-hunter Dante, Fang Yu the cyborg knight and her lover Siwatu the necromancer, and Azar Almasi the intergalactic geneticist (and deity) as they search the universe for the secret of violence. From a foot-trek through forests made of glass, to the pools where the tadpoles of dragons are born, from alien planetscapes to pitched battles in the silent dark between the stars, who will survive humanity's last pilgrimage? This lavish, full-color edition includes 20 illustrations and 9 sketches by artists Roberto Calas, Chaz Kemp, and Frankie Serna. EARLY REVIEWS FOR DANTE'S HEART "Dante's Heart is like Clive Barker, Octavio Paz, and Dante Alighieri are playing D&D together. Lush stuff and more imaginative than most fantasy fare." - Marc McDermott "Dante's Heart isn't as much a story as it is an epic poem. Visually and emotionally evocative, it seems to be this gifted author’s heartfelt rumination on pain, loss, and the human propensity toward violence. To read it is to step through an oil painting into another world. But beware: Once there, you may have trouble finding your way back out. Not that you'll necessarily want to, because Dante's Heart is both terrifyingly and achingly beautiful." – Michael Whiteman Jones REVIEWS FOR STANT LITORE'S PREVIOUS FICTION "Heartbreaking and wonderful." – Conflictium "I find myself riveted to Stant's prose, not only because I'm eager to find out the characters' fate but because his words are so beautiful. The story has stayed with me days after reading it. I highly recommend." – Denise Grover Swank, author of The Curse Keepers "To say I loved this book would be an understatement. I could not put it down." – The Seattle Post-Intelligencer "Stant Litore may be SF's premier poet of loneliness." – Jason Kirk, author of Reverb and The Other Whites in South Africa "Litore's stories aren't only entertaining. They are stories invading our lives, unexpectedly. You encounter them, as you might encounter people. They are those random elements in life that happen to you, like a mugging, like childbirth, like falling in love and marriage, like death and the funeral that follows. They are moments that leave a mark, and leave you changed." – Andrew Hallam, Ph.D., Metropolitan State University of Denver "Stant eloquently writes passages that are so moving, full of passion, fury, loneliness, blind drive … He takes us to places of amazing beauty, awe-inspiring, as well as places where the implications in the story can leave you almost in despair for the human race." – Nikki Ebright, Director, Shiny Garden

Book Some Truth Revealed by the Lord Jesus Christ That Are Important to Believers Into Christ

Download or read book Some Truth Revealed by the Lord Jesus Christ That Are Important to Believers Into Christ written by Repsaj Jasper and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-12 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The biblical meaning of "truth" is not the same as "truth" defined according to world dictionaries. To speak what actually has happened is "truth"; to speak honestly is "truth" according to world dictionaries. But it is not "truth" in the eyes of the God. Why? Because scriptures reveal that the God is "true" ("alethes") and all mankind are liars or falsifiers ("pseustes")(Romans 3:4; John 3:33; Psalms 116:11; Psalms 62:8). Only one who is "true" ("alethes") is able to speak "the truth"("aletheia"). All falsifiers or liars are not able to speak "the truth"("aletheia"), because "the truth" is not in them. Unless mankind have the Lord Jesus Christ living in them, they are unable to speak "truth" ("aletheia"), because the Lord Jesus Christ is "the truth." The Lord Jesus Christ is the One who revealed the true meaning of "truth"("aletheia") in John 17:17. The word of the God is "truth". And Jesus Christ is "the truth" as revealed in John 14:6. Revelation 19:13 reveals that the name of Jesus Christ is "The Word of the God." A full understanding of the meaning of "truth" and "the truth" is given in the companion to this Book Number 27 by the same author in Book Number 26, titled, "Biblical meaning of the translated words truth and the truth in the New Testament Scriptures." Therefore the biblical meaning of "truth" is "the word of the God." And since Jesus Christ is "the truth", He is also "the Word of the God." It can be shown in scriptures that holiness, righteousness and love come from "truth"(John 17:17, 19; 2 Thessalonians 2:10; Ephesians 4:15; Romans 2:13; Ephesians 5:9). This means without "truth" no one can be holy and righteous and loving. In fact believers are made holy in truth. Without holiness no one can see the God (Hebrews 12:14) and without holiness no one can receive everlasting life. This is the reason for the writing of this book. This Book Number 27 reveals some important "truth" taught by the Lord Jesus Christ which are important to the salvation of believers into Christ Jesus which were/are hardly taught and preached anywhere in the public hearing of believers. Understanding "truth" and "the truth" will enable true believers to be led by the Holy Spirit of the truth to become righteous leading to perfect holiness and the end result is everlasting life. The teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ are the CORNERSTONE of the gospel of salvation and true believers need to know and understand as much of "truth" that had been revealed by the Lord Jesus Christ in order for them to be able to discern and reject the plethora of lies and false teachings that had/have been are being preached and taught in this, the last days - to ensure that they, the true believers are not led astray. The Lord Jesus Christ had also taught that in the last days many will come in His name, saying, "I am the Christ" and will deceive many (Matthew 24:5). There are indeed many who come in His name even today! But believers must be able to identify them. How? By testing them with "the truth." And many false christs and false prophets will rise up giving great signs and omens that powerful, to deceive even the elect(Matthew 24:24).

His life is lived on the "rough-edged actuality" of real life, and his relationship with God is an energetic one. Through the passions, the trials, and the lyrical poetry of this beloved figure, we gain powerful insights into the role of God in our own lives. In this inspirational volume, Professor Eugene H. Peterson, translator of The Message, uses stories from David's epic life as vivid lessons in everyday faith and spirituality. Exploring David's experiences of friendship, grief, love, sin, and suffering, as well as sanctuary, beauty, and wilderness, he reawakens us to the enduring truths behind these beloved stories.

Book Kj3 Literal Translation New Testament

Download or read book Kj3 Literal Translation New Testament written by and published by Sovereign Grace Publishers,. This book was released on 2006-11 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is what the King James Version was meant to be, an exact word-for-word translation of the Hebrew and Greek texts. This title indicates that this new Bible is an exact literal, word-for-word translation of the Masoretic Hebrew Text and the Greek Received Text (Textus Receptus), the main texts used by the Authorised/King James Version translators. Certainly you will want to know all the truths that God has written in the original Hebrew and Greek languages, for it is truth that has the power to set you free: "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32) The difference between the KJ3 Bible and all other English versions ever created in the past is this: This version contains all of God's words, as He wrote them. Note that God has commanded this several times. See Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32, Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18, 19. KJ3/LITV "You shall not add onto the Word I command you, neither shall you take away from it, to keep the commandments which I have commanded you." When a version adds words to the words that God breathed out or fails to translate what God has written, and hides from the reader what they have added or subtracted from God's word, they are deceiving the reader by in effect saying, "These are the words that God wrote," when the truth is that God did not write many of the words that they have put into their Bibles. This is especially grievous in the Bibles that use "Dynamic Equivalence" as their translation methodology. Basically, "Dynamic Equivalence" is storytelling or a short commentary of what God has breathed out to us. The alleged translator reads a passage of the Bible in its native language (Greek or Hebrew), perceives or interprets the meaning, and writes in his own words what the alleged translator believes the Bible is saying. There is no effort to translate each word of the Hebrew or Greek. This new KJ3 version is the version that lovers of God and His Word can safely use with the approval of God. You and every person will be judged by ALL of the words that God has written. Add to this, that God wrote in grammatical forms (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc.) Our Lord Jesus was always careful to keep the grammar of the Old Testament words He quoted in the New Testament. No other Bible version has ever strictly given the reader these grammatical forms as God has written them. The worst mistranslations: "Lord" for the divine name ("I am Jehovah, that is my name,"). God's name is mistranslated more than 6,000 times. Every nation had their lords, but only Israel had Jehovah as their God. All other countries were "the nations." In the New Testament "Gentiles" is falsely put for the "nations." "Church" is a word God never wrote: instead he called the meeting place "the assembly" both in the New and Old Testament. "The children of Israel" never existed as such, for the word, for "sons" is badly translated as "children." In many versions this occurs more than 500 times. Dead is either an adjective ("dead ones") or a verb ("to die"), (e.g. "he has died"). Also ("put to death") is from this verb, and most often translated as "cause to die". Usually, with most translations which have the same verb twice, one of the verbs will be replaced with an adverb. Only by going back to the each and every word of the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts can we ever attempt to have the purest translation. This is what we have tried to do with the KJ3 Bible - Literal Translation of the Bible.
