Book The Essence and Preeminence of Sonship

Download or read book The Essence and Preeminence of Sonship written by Peter Akeck and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-05-30 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul" Ps 106:15 They had whatever they wanted and were full, but were never fulfilled in all their pursuits and endeavours. The million dollar question today as it was then, stands: "Do you want to be full or do you want to be fulfilled?" To be full you have to 'do', and to be fulfilled you have to 'be'. Servants 'do', but sons 'are'. The revelation of the Father and the consequent restoration and re-placement of sons in His Son, play in-expendable role in this divine design. God is first a Father then He saves; He is first a Father then He heals, etc. God first 'is', then He 'does'. He created the first man Adam and called him a 'son'. When this son failed, He sent His Son to find His lost son and restore him to his placement - sonship. God's first question to all humanity was "Where are you?" Where you are is more important to God than what you do. We were created first to be, then to do; not vice versa as it is today. Who we are informs what we are. Who we are defines us, but what we are defines our works. As all humanity and creation step into this glorious end time epoch that God has so graciously dispensed unto us, we must all keep in sharp focus the Father's plan to fill the earth with glorious sons. The Father's design of sonship re-places man into his pathway to finding fulfillment beyond fullness. This book, "The Essence and Precedence of Sonship" details this whole concept in such a way that the reader not only catches the revelation of the Father and steps into his placement as a son(whether he is male or female), but also explores the magnanimous glory of the Father that catapults him into fulfillment beyond description.

Book The Father s Spirit of Sonship

Download or read book The Father s Spirit of Sonship written by Thomas Weinandy and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book attempts to reconceive the Trinity. Its thesis is that the Father beget the Son in or by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit proceeds from the Father as the one in whom the Son is begotten. While some contemporary authors have proposed a similar view, no-one has done so in such a complete and systematic fashion. Reconceiving the Trinity in this way has a number of advantages. Firstly, it is more in keeping with the New Testament proclamation, and thus it more closely aligns the economic and immanent Trinity. Secondly, it overcomes the inadequacies of traditional trinitarian formulations, in both Eastern and Western Churches, which incorporates erroneous philosophical presuppositions. Thirdly, it offers a resolution to the filioque controversy, which may be acceptable to both the Latin and the Orthodox Churches. This book is, therefore, highly ecumenical in importance. Fourthly, it gives a more active and essential role to the Holy Spirit within the immanent Trinity, something that has been lacking throughout the trinitarian tradition. The true subjectivity or personality of the Holy Spirit is more clearly defined. This book brings out the spiritual and practical importance of the Trinity for the everyday lives of Christians. It defines more clearly how Christians are grafted into the very life of the Trinity: how they come to relate to the persons of the Trinity in a manner analogous to the way they relate to one another.

Book The Garden at the Edge of Beyond

Download or read book The Garden at the Edge of Beyond written by Michael Phillips and published by RosettaBooks. This book was released on 2020-10-21 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A journey into a realm beyond imagination gives one man a glimpse into his own spirituality through messages of faith, hope, and love. A man lies down for a normal night of sleep and inexplicably awakens to find himself in a surreal garden bursting with fantastic aromas and colors. A succession of “tour guides’ come and go, helping him to interpret the landscape’s fragrant messages, each one a clue on the journey to discover his true self, and, ultimately, the Creator of the Country Beyond. “One night, a 48-year-old man undergoes a truly odd experience. He awakens in a strange world, where he is able to discuss theology with such entities as a Scotsman and an Englishman, meant to be the well-known Christian theologians George MacDonald and C.S. Lewis . . . Phillips brings off this unexpected premise surprisingly well . . . a wonderful starting point for some great debate.” —Library Journal

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of today's foremost mystics introduces readers to the thought of one of the most important spiritual teachers of the past century. Bede Griffiths—English Benedictine monk and lifelong friend of C.S. Lewis, who was his tutor at Oxford—wrote in 1955 to a friend: "I'm going out to India to seek the other half of my soul." There, he explored the intersection of Hinduism and Christianity and was a driving force behind the growth of interspiritual awareness so common today, yet almost unheard of a half-century ago. Wayne Teasdale, a longtime personal friend and student of Griffiths, provides readers with an intriguing view into the thoughts, beliefs, and life of this champion of interreligious acceptance and harmony. This volume is the first in-depth study of Bede Griffiths' contemplative experience and thought. Fully exploring the antecedents and development of Griffiths' theory that the Christian mystery can be expressed through the worldview of Hinduism, Bede Griffiths: An Introduction to His Interspiritual Thought is a vital starting point for any spiritual seeker who wants to understand the shared territories of these two great faiths.
