Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Download Webnovel and chereads to read The Love of a Lycan A year ago Raine was discharged from mental institution and had to live in the orphanage. It wasn't the best place. At least not for someone like her. Until one faithful night she met him. *** He stopped the car. The clutched on the blanket tightened as Raine wonder if she did something wrong. She could feel it when Torak reached out his hand at her. Will he hit me? Raine shivered with that thought. Torak pulled back the hoodie off her head and gently tucked her hair behind her ear. "Don't." He said firmly, "I want to see you, don't hide yourself…" ************** “The spirit of the guardian angel will breathe new life into human child. Three guardian angels will be born into terrestrial world once again and the three of you will be their protectors.” “Protectors!!?” Jedrek snapped. In the end, he stopped walking and turned his back to look at the moon goddess from far distance away, his eyes glistening red with anger. His wolf was livid. “Why do you think we will help?” Kace asked while narrowing his black obsidian eyes, his wolf took control of him. He was the youngest among the three and the less temperamental among them. The three of them were cursed by Selene because of their ferocious action to gain supreme power and authority. The moon goddess didn’t bless them with a mate as a punishment of their atrocious way and forced them to involve in this deadly war with the demons. “You will turn us into a slave for those sickly creatures!?” Torak asked incredulously. “Aren’t you afraid that we will snap them into two?” The guardian angel was so fragile and they as lycanthropes didn’t appreciate the weaknesses. “No, you will not.” Selene said patiently. “You will not be their slave nor hurt them, you will cherish them in every way possible.” Jedrek laughed menacingly upon hearing this, they didn’t care about the resurrected of the beast, once they crossed their territory, with or without the guardian angel he would tear their body apart. “I will be the last person they will see, once I find them.” He was referring to both the guardian angel and the demon. But, the next voice from Selene was laced with mirth when she spoke. “You will not hurt your mate.” ============================ Session 1 (chapter 1 - 394) : Torak Donovan - Raine (completed). Fresh off a breakup, Taylor Manning accepts a yearlong teaching position in Cougar Point, Montana, and plans to focus on herself, avoid men, and return home a changed woman. That’s before she meets Russ Palmer, a local rancher who’s as stubborn as he is handsome. With his old-fashioned attitudes about women, Russ is the last man Taylor could imagine dating, and the feeling seems to be mutual. So why can’t she seem to get him off her mind? Russ is raising his teenage sister all by his lonesome, and he doesn’t appreciate Cougar Point’s pretty new teacher second-guessing his decisions as a surrogate parent. In fact, every time they cross paths, Taylor seems to have a bone to pick. But no matter how much they disagree, their chemistry is off the charts. And if Taylor would stop arguing long enough to notice, Russ will give her a very good reason to stick around. Published by Debbie Macomber Books

Book Metaphor and Emotion

Download or read book Metaphor and Emotion written by Zoltán Kövecses and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2003-09 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are human emotions best characterized as biological, psychological, or cultural entities? Many researchers claim that emotions arise either from human biology (i.e., biological reductionism) or as products of culture (i.e., social constructionism). This book challenges this simplistic division between the body and culture by showing how human emotions are to a large extent "constructed" from individuals' embodied experiences in different cultural settings. The view proposed here demonstrates how cultural aspects of emotions, metaphorical language about the emotions, and human physiology in emotion are all part of an intergrated system and shows how this system points to the reconciliation of the seemingly contradictory views of biological reductionism and social constructionism in contemporary debates about human emotion.

Book Understanding Indonesian Plays Wayang and Brechtian Strategy

Download or read book Understanding Indonesian Plays Wayang and Brechtian Strategy written by Antonius Herujiyanto and published by Sanata Dharma University Press. This book was released on 2020-03-11 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This (research) book highlights the unavoidable conversation engaging readers about the meaning and significance of Indonesian plays from the flights of Wayang and Brechtian strategy. The goal is, thus, to provide those willing to understand Indonesian plays with the necessary steps to go through. Not only are they invited to pay a visit to (world) literature, but they are also to deal with cultural studies, the dramatictext, and a critical vocabulary common to play analysis. Offering a response to such a compact goal, there are important things that need pointing out, namely, the elaboration of Wayang strategy and its application. This also suggests highlighting Brechtian strategy, the world of literature, Indonesian literature, Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) and its roles within the national political affairs. This book is, thus, organized to discuss methods of play analysis which primarily means to find the meaning of the very plays, in this case the work of Arifin C. Noer.
