Download or read book Applications of Holography written by E. Barrekette and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 395 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Holography has matured over the years since it was first invented by Dennis Gabor and further developed by many workers during the last decade. With some applications a commercial reality and many more continually appearing, it is now possible to compile a volume devoted to the applications of holography. This book consists primarily of papers presented at the second U.S. Japan Seminar on holography, held in Washington, D.C., from October 20-27, 1969, under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences, National Science Foundation, and the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science. In addition to most of the papers presented at the seminar, several others are included because they cover important applications which are appropriate to this volume. Attendance at the seminar was limited to ten delegates from each country; these delegates being chosen so as to permit the seminar to include as wide a range of subjects as possible, with each delegate being recognized as an authority in his particular field of holography. In addition, Dr. Gilbert Devey (Program 'Director for Engineering Systems for the National Science Foundation, and the one most responsible for making the seminar possible), Professor Wolf F.

Download or read book Metasurface Holography written by Zi-Lan Deng and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-05-31 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The merging of metasurface and holography brings about unprecedented opportunities for versatile manipulation of light in terms of both far-field wavefront and near-field profile. In this book, a brief evolving history from surface plasmon polariton holography to metamaterial holography and finally to metasurface holography is introduced at first. Basic physical mechanisms that govern the phase modulation rules behind metasurface holography design are discussed later. Next, extended functionalities such as arbitrary polarization holography, vectorial holography, full-color holography, and hybrid holography achieved in the metasurface platform are presented. Surface wave and metagrating holography that bridges the on-chip surface wave and free-space wave is also introduced. In the end, we envisage practical applications of high-fidelity 3D holographic display, high-secure encryption, and high capacity digital encoding and also indicate remaining challenges based on metasurface holography.

Book Application of the Methods of Coherent Optics and Holography to the Problems of Antenna Engineering and Data Processing

Download or read book Application of the Methods of Coherent Optics and Holography to the Problems of Antenna Engineering and Data Processing written by L. D. Bakhrakh and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The article examines the possibilities of applying the methods of coherent optics and, in particular, of holography to the problems of antenna engineering and data processing. With the aid of the methods of coherent optics it is expedient to do the optical simulation of antennas, the restoration of the radiation patterns of antennas by the measurements of the field in Fresnel region, etc. In the realization of a system with a synthesized aperture the use of holography principles proves to be the most natural. The application of the methods of holography and matched optical filtration for image discrimination is especially effective. (Author).
