This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Lifetime prediction on lithium ion battery cell and system level Band 8 written by Severin Lukas Hahn and published by Cuvillier Verlag. This book was released on 2022-08-23 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Fuzzy Filter Based State of Energy Estimation for Lithium Ion Batteries

Download or read book Fuzzy Filter Based State of Energy Estimation for Lithium Ion Batteries written by Shunli Wang and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2024-03-21 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Awareness of the safety issues of lithium-ion batteries is crucial in the development of new energy technologies, and real-time and high-precision State of Energy (SOE) estimation is not only a prerequisite for battery safety, but also serves as the basis for predicting the remaining driving range of electric vehicles and aircrafts. In order to achieve real-time and accurate estimation of the energy state of lithium-ion batteries, this book improves the calculation method of the open-circuit voltage in the traditional second-order RC equivalent circuit model. It also combines a fuzzy controller and a dual-weighted multi-innovation algorithm to optimize the traditional Centralized Kalman Filter (CKF) algorithm in terms of the aspects of convergence speed, estimation accuracy, and algorithm robustness. This enables the precise estimation of SOE and the maximum available energy. The content of this book provides theoretical support for the development of new energy initiatives.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Les batteries tout solide monolithiques written by Virginie Viallet and published by ISTE Group. This book was released on 2018-06-01 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Intelligent Lithium Ion Battery State of Charge SOC Estimation Methods

Download or read book Intelligent Lithium Ion Battery State of Charge SOC Estimation Methods written by Shunli Wang and published by . This book was released on 2024 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To improve the accuracy and stability of power battery state of charge (SOC) estimation, this book proposes a SOC estimation method for power lithium batteries based on the fusion of deep learning and filtering algorithms. More specifically, the book proposes a SOC estimation method for Li-ion batteries using bi-directional long and short-term memory neural networks (BiLSTM), which overcomes the problem that long and short-term memory neural networks (LSTM) pose, because they can only learn in one direction, resulting in poor feature extraction and memory effect. The book provides some technical references for the design, matching, and application of power lithium-ion battery management systems, and contributes to the development of new energy technology applications.

Book r n stic of Lithium Batteries Using Artificial Intelligence

Download or read book r n stic of Lithium Batteries Using Artificial Intelligence written by Abdelilah Hammou and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lithium-ion batteries are dominating the EV market due to their higher performance in comparison with other energy storage systems. However, as any electrochemical system the lithium-ion batteries suffer from several side reactions that lead to the fade of their performance and increase the risks of the system failure. Therefore, the state-of-health monitoring of these energy storage systems is necessary for an efficient and safe operation of the battery system. This PhD thesis contributes to this topic: where it exploits the ageing data extracted from battery cycling tests to derive diagnostic and prognostic approaches. The first part of this study focuses on the experimental investigation of the sensitivity the equivalent circuit model's parameters to the discharge current rate. The results show that the polarization capacitance and resistance vary with the variation of the current rate, while the series resistance is the less parameter sensitive to the current rate. The second part aims to study the ageing effect on the performances of the cells and generate experimental data of battery cycling. During these tests, the cells are cycled using a dynamic current profile extracted from the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Cycle (WLTC). The obtained results show that the cells' capacity and energy decrease with the increasing of the performed cycles. The investigation on the effect of the SoC cycling window showed that reducing the SoC window from 100%-0% to 80%-20% contributes to the extension of the battery lifetime for NMC cells. In contrast, for LFP cells, the SoC window reduction has an inverse effect on their lifetime. The experimental data generated are used then to design and evaluate the diagnosis of the prognosis approaches for the lithium-ion cells. Concerning the diagnosis approaches, the derived methods aim to estimate the health indicators from the available measurements such as current, voltage and temperature. This work presented and evaluated three diagnosis methods: The first method, combines the auto-encoders with the LSTM neural networks for the estimation of the cell's capacity and energy. The second method focuses on the investigation of the statistical features of the voltage measurement. The results show that the Kullback-Leibler Divergence is strongly correlated with the battery state of health. The third diagnosis model is based on an analytical model to estimate the battery energy and capacity from energy-based features. These features are extracted from a short segment of battery discharge, which makes it the most suitable for vehicular applications.Concerning the prognosis, four models are developed to predict battery capacity: LSTM, GRU, ESN and GPR. These prognostic models are tested and evaluated considering two scenarios: the first one uses measured capacities, while the second uses estimated capacities as training data. The prognostic models are evaluated by considering three percentages of training data corresponding to three stages of cycle ageing: premature, medium and advanced. The results showed that ESN provides accurate predictions of cell capacity and requires less training time, making it suitable for vehicular applications.

Book Experimental Aging and Lifetime Prediction in Grid Applications for Large Format Commercial Li Ion Batteries

Download or read book Experimental Aging and Lifetime Prediction in Grid Applications for Large Format Commercial Li Ion Batteries written by and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Due to the growth of electric vehicle and stationary energy storage markets, the production and use of lithium-ion batteries has grown exponentially in recent years. For many of these applications, large-format lithium-ion batteries are being utilized, as large cells have less inactive material relative to their energy capacity and require fewer electrical connections to assemble into packs. And especially for stationary energy storage systems, where energy delivered is the only revenue source, the economics of these battery systems is highly dependent on cell lifetime. However, testing of large-format lithium-ion batteries is time consuming and requires high current channels and large testing chambers, making information on the performance of commercial, large-format lithium-ion batteries hard to come by. Here, accelerated aging test data from four commercial large-format lithium-ion batteries is reported. These batteries span both NMC-Gr and LFP-Gr cell chemistries, pouch and prismatic formats, and a range of cell designs with varying power capabilities. Accelerated aging test results are analyzed to examine both cell performance, in terms of efficiency and thermal response under load, as well as cell lifetime. Cell thermal response is characterized by measuring temperature during cycle aging, which is used to calculated a normalized thermal resistance value that may help estimate both cell cooling needs or to help extrapolate aging test results to different thermal environments. Cell lifetime is evaluated qualitatively, considering simply the average calendar and cycle life across a range of conditions, as well as quantitatively, using statistical modeling and machine-learning methods to identify predictive aging models from the accelerated aging data. These predictive aging models are then used to investigate cell sensitivities to stressors, such as cycling temperature, voltage window, and C-rate, as well as to predict cell lifetime in various stationary storage applications. Results from this work show that cell lifetime and sensitivity to aging conditions varies substantially across commercial cells, necessitating testing for specific cell formats to make quantitative lifetime predictions. That being said, all commercial cells tested here are predicted to reach at least 10-year lifetimes for stationary storage applications. Based on the aging test results and modeling, some cells are expected to be relatively insensitive to temperature and use-case, making them suited for simple use cases with little or no thermal management and simple controls, while the lifetime of other cells could be extended to 20+ years if operated with thermal management and degradation-aware controls.
