Download or read book Handbook of Research on the Applications of Neutrosophic Sets Theory and Their Extensions in Education written by Broumi, Said and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2023-06-09 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fuzzy sets have experienced multiple expansions since their conception to enhance their capacity to convey complex information. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets, image fuzzy sets, q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets, and neutrosophic sets are a few of these extensions. Researchers and academics have acquired a lot of information about their theories and methods for making decisions. However, only a small number of research findings discuss how neutrosophic sets theory and their extensions (NSTEs) are used in education. The Handbook of Research on the Applications of Neutrosophic Sets Theory and Their Extensions in Education implements fresh scientific approaches to enhance the quality of decisions under neutrosophic environments, particularly within education. Covering key topics such as data modeling, educational technologies, decision making, and learning management systems, this major reference work is ideal for instructional designers, researchers, academicians, scholars, practitioners, instructors, and students.

Book A Two Stage Interval valued Neutrosophic Soft Set Traffic Signal Control Model for Four Way Isolated signalized Intersections

Download or read book A Two Stage Interval valued Neutrosophic Soft Set Traffic Signal Control Model for Four Way Isolated signalized Intersections written by Endalkachew Teshome Ayele and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on 2020-12-01 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the major problems of both developed and developing countries is traffic congestion in urban road transportation systems. Some of the adverse consequences of traffic congestion are loss of productive time, delay in transportation, increase in transportation cost, excess fuel consumption, safety of people, increase in air pollution level and disruption of day-to-day activities. Researches have shown that among others, traditional traffic control system is one of the main reasons for traffic congestion at traffic junctions. Most countries through out the world use pre-timed / fixed cycle time traffic control systems. But these traffic control systems do not give an optimal signal time setting as they do not take into account the time dependent heavy traffic conditions at the junctions. They merely use a predetermined sequence or order for both signal phase change and time setting. Some times this also leads to more congestion at the junctions. As an improvement of fixed time traffic control method, fuzzy logic traffic control model was developed which takes into account the current traffic conditions at the junctions and works based on fuzzy logic principle under imprecise and uncertain conditions. But as a real life situation,in addition to uncertainty and impreciseness there is also indeterminacy in traffic signal control constraints which fuzzy logic can not handle. The aim of this research is to develop a new traffic signal control model that can solve the limitations of fixed time signal control and fuzzy logic signal control using a flexible approach based on interval-valued neutrosophic soft set and its decision making technique, specially developed for this purpose. We have developed an algorithm for controlling both phase change and green time extension / termination as warranted by the traffic conditions prevailing at any time.

Book Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and Neutrosophic Cognitive Maps

Download or read book Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and Neutrosophic Cognitive Maps written by W. B. Vasantha Kandasamy and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on 2003-01-01 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world of chaotic alignments, traditional logic with its strict boundaries of truth and falsity has not imbued itself with the capability of reflecting the reality. Despite various attempts to reorient logic, there has remained an essential need for an alternative system that could infuse into itself a representation of the real world. Out of this need arose the system of Neutrosophy (the philosophy of neutralities, introduced by FLORENTIN SMARANDACHE), and its connected logic Neutrosophic Logic, which is a further generalization of the theory of Fuzzy Logic. In this book we study the concepts of Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) and their Neutrosophic analogue, the Neutrosophic Cognitive Maps (NCMs). Fuzzy Cognitive Maps are fuzzy structures that strongly resemble neural networks, and they have powerful and far-reaching consequences as a mathematical tool for modeling complex systems. Neutrosophic Cognitive Maps are generalizations of FCMs, and their unique feature is the ability to handle indeterminacy in relations between two concepts thereby bringing greater sensitivity into the results. Some of the varied applications of FCMs and NCMs which has been explained by us, in this book, include: modeling of supervisory systems; design of hybrid models for complex systems; mobile robots and in intimate technology such as office plants; analysis of business performance assessment; formalism debate and legal rules; creating metabolic and regulatory network models; traffic and transportation problems; medical diagnostics; simulation of strategic planning process in intelligent systems; specific language impairment; web-mining inference application; child labor problem; industrial relations: between employer and employee, maximizing production and profit; decision support in intelligent intrusion detection system; hyper-knowledge representation in strategy formation; female infanticide; depression in terminally ill patients and finally, in the theory of community mobilization and women empowerment relative to the AIDS epidemic.

Book Traffic Control and Transport Planning

Download or read book Traffic Control and Transport Planning written by Dusan Teodorovic and published by Springer. This book was released on 2012-10-21 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When solving real-life engineering problems, linguistic information is often encountered that is frequently hard to quantify using "classical" mathematical techniques. This linguistic information represents subjective knowledge. Through the assumptions made by the analyst when forming the mathematical model, the linguistic information is often ignored. On the other hand, a wide range of traffic and transportation engineering parameters are characterized by uncertainty, subjectivity, imprecision, and ambiguity. Human operators, dispatchers, drivers, and passengers use this subjective knowledge or linguistic information on a daily basis when making decisions. Decisions about route choice, mode of transportation, most suitable departure time, or dispatching trucks are made by drivers, passengers, or dispatchers. In each case the decision maker is a human. The environment in which a human expert (human controller) makes decisions is most often complex, making it difficult to formulate a suitable mathematical model. Thus, the development of fuzzy logic systems seems justified in such situations. In certain situations we accept linguistic information much more easily than numerical information. In the same vein, we are perfectly capable of accepting approximate numerical values and making decisions based on them. In a great number of cases we use approximate numerical values exclusively. It should be emphasized that the subjective estimates of different traffic parameters differs from dispatcher to dispatcher, driver to driver, and passenger to passenger.

Book Peak period Traffic Congestion

Download or read book Peak period Traffic Congestion written by Roberta Remak and published by Transportation Research Board National Research. This book was released on 1976-01-01 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report describes options available within the present state of the art, compares their probable costs and benefits, and makes specific recommendations for solutions to different types of peak-period congestion. Twenty two individual techniques in eleven major categories are identified. They include social approaches, socioeconomic approaches, sociotechnical approaches, and technical approaches. The techniques were considered relative to their benefits and costs. Their effectiveness in treating different congestion problems was measured. Two aspects of timing of impacts were considered. Nine categories of indirect benefits and disbenefits were identified as factors that should be weighted in decision to implement any of the techniques.

Book Basic Neutrosophic Algebraic Structures and Their Application to Fuzzy and Neutrosophic Models

Download or read book Basic Neutrosophic Algebraic Structures and Their Application to Fuzzy and Neutrosophic Models written by W. B. Vasantha Kandasamy and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on 2004-01-01 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the involvement of uncertainty of varying degrees, when the total of the membership degree exceeds one or less than one, then the newer mathematical paradigm shift, Fuzzy Theory proves appropriate. For the past two or three decades, Fuzzy Theory has become the potent tool to study and analyze uncertainty involved in all problems. But, many real world problems also abound with the concept of indeterminacy. In this book, the new, powerful tool of neutrosophy that deals with indeterminacy is utilized. Innovative neutrosophic models are described. The theory of neutrosophic graphs is introduced and applied to fuzzy and neutrosophic models.Neutrosophic Logic and Neutrosophic Set (generalizations of Intuitionistic Fuzzy Logic and Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set respectively) became strong tools for applications.
