The editor suggested that Burroughs submit a sequel to "Under the Moons of Mars." Instead, Burroughs submitted Tarzan. The delighted editor decided to run Tarzan complete in one issue. Six years later, in 1917, the Chicago publisher A.C. McClurg Company printed Burrough's story "Under the Moons of Mars" in book form under its new name: "A Princess of Mars." The company reportedly published just over 10,000 copies of the book.
