Download or read book Simulation Systems written by George Zobrist and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2000-04-17 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Simulation Systems expolres a wide spectrum of topics including simulation software, logic simulation, query-driven simulation, multi-computer simulation and manufacturing simulation. Although such papers are presented in Journals and conference proceedings it is difficult to find a single source where the foremost papers are presented. Contributions in Simulation Systms are freom leading researchers and practioners which explore a wide spectrum of topics. The chapters include topics such as presentation of SIMULA/OBJECTR, which is a query driven simulation support environment and a method of translating automatically digital logic equations so that they may be simulated using VHDL. This is followed by simulation techniques for deterministic and statistical circuit design optimization. A mathematical model of a magnetic resonance imaging system is simulated so that one can better understand the imaging system.
Download or read book Evaluation of Multicomputers for Image Processing written by L. Uhr and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1987-01-28 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evaluation of Multicomputers for Imaging Processing covers the proceedings of the 1984 Tanque Verde Workshop, held in Tucson. This book is organized into four parts encompassing 17 chapters that summarize the benchmark evaluation efforts specific to multicomputer systems designed for the efficient execution of image processing tasks. The first part considers the basic problem of benchmarking and presents an evaluation procedure or sets of instructions for establishing benchmark routines, tasks, and procedures. The next part deals with the simulation and evaluation. This part first examines semiconductor chips designed for use in imaging processing followed by the presentation of formulas for measuring algorithms, architecture efficiency, speedup, and processing element utilization for SIMD/MIMD multicomputers. This part also considers the image processing systems composed of various types of networks of processing elements. The third part describes a content-addressable array and its applications to machine vision, as well as the architecture and programming methods of the WARP multicomputer. This part further looks into the elevation measurements techniques by registering stereo pairs obtained from aerial photography using ""pass point"" correlation methods. The concluding part highlights the hardware implementations of general-purpose image processing systems with associated performance evaluations. Computer scientists and engineers will greatly benefit from this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The need to evaluate computer and communication systems performance and dependability is continuously growing as a consequence of both the increasing complexity of systems and the user requirements in terms of timing behaviour. The 10th International Conference on Modelling Techniques and Tools for C- puter Performance Evaluation, held in Palma in September 1998, was organised with the aim of creating a forum in which both theoreticians and practitioners could interchange recent techniques, tools, and experiences in these areas. This meeting follows the predecessor conferences of this series: 1984 Paris 1988 Palma 1994 Wien 1985 Sophia Antipolis 1991 Torino 1995 Heidelberg 1987 Paris 1992 Edinburgh 1997 Saint Malo The tradition of this conference series continued this year where many high quality papers were submitted. The Programme Committee had a di cult task in selecting the best papers. Many ne papers could not be included in the program due to space constraints. All accepted papers are included in this volume. Also, a set of submissions describing performance modelling tools was transformed into tool presentations and demonstrations. A brief description of these tools is included in this volume. The following table gives the overall statistics for the submissions.

Download or read book Deterministic and Stochastic Approaches in Computer Modeling and Simulation written by Romansky, Radi Petrov and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2023-10-09 with total page 527 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the field of computer modeling and simulation, academic scholars face a pressing challenge—how to navigate the complex landscape of both deterministic and stochastic approaches to modeling. This multifaceted arena demands a unified organizational framework, a comprehensive guide that can seamlessly bridge the gap between theory and practical application. Without such a resource, scholars may struggle to harness the full potential of computer modeling, leaving critical questions unanswered and innovative solutions undiscovered. Deterministic and Stochastic Approaches in Computer Modeling and Simulation serves as the definitive solution to the complex problem scholars encounter. By presenting a comprehensive and unified organizational approach, this book empowers academics to conquer the challenges of computer modeling with confidence. It not only provides a classification of modeling methods but also offers a formalized, step-by-step approach to conducting model investigations, starting from defining objectives to analyzing experimental results. For academic scholars seeking a holistic understanding of computer modeling, this book is the ultimate solution. It caters to the diverse needs of scholars by addressing both deterministic and stochastic approaches. Through its structured chapters, it guides readers from the very basics of computer systems investigation to advanced topics like stochastic analytical modeling and statistical modeling.

Book excerpt: Artificial Intelligence and Security in Computing Systems is a peer-reviewed conference volume focusing on three areas of practice and research progress in information technologies: -Methods of Artificial Intelligence presents methods and algorithms which are the basis for applications of artificial intelligence environments. -Multiagent Systems include laboratory research on multiagent intelligent systems as well as upon their applications in transportation and information systems. -Computer Security and Safety presents techniques and algorithms which will be of great interest to practitioners. In general, they focus on new cryptographic algorithms (including a symmetric key encryption scheme, hash functions, secret generation and sharing schemes, and secure data storage), a formal language for policy access control description and its implementation, and risk management methods (used for continuous analysis both in distributed network and software development projects).
Download or read book Towards a Thread based Parallel Direct Execution Simulator written by Institute for Computer Applications in Science and Engineering and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: "Parallel direct execution simulation is an important tool for performance and scalability analysis of large message passing parallel programs executing on top of a virtual computer. However, detailed simulation of message-passing codes requires a great deal of computation. We are therefore interested in pursuing implementation techniques which can decrease this cost. One idea is to implement the application virtual processes as lightweight threads rather than traditional Unix processes, reducing both on-processor communication costs and context-switching costs. In this paper we describe an initial implementation of a thread-based parallel direct execution simulator. We discuss the advantages of such an approach and present preliminary results that indicate a significant improvement over the process-based approach."
