This book was released on 2018-02-05 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Journal of American Ethnology and Archaeology, 1892, Vol. 3 The material is exclusively derived from Spanish documents, written and printed, which relate to the Zufii Indians. But this material is in complete. The Archives of New Mexico have been thoroughly searched for the purpose, and I may say that use has been made of everything of any importance which they contain. The Archives of Mexico have also yielded much material, but the time allotted for study at Mexico was too short for exhaustive investigation. Hence, only a part of what may exist on the subject, in the Archives of the Mexican Republic, is here represented. Lastly, I was unable to consult the most important source of information, namely, the dooumentary material contained in the Archives of the Indies, at Sevilla, in Spain. Under these circum stances, the work has remained necessarily incomplete, and it cannot pretend to be more than an outline sketch.
