Book excerpt: How I Reversed My Severe, Low Back Pain in Only Three Weeks, without Surgery, Physical Therapy, or Pain Pills When back pain strikes, it can ruin your life. Reaching for painkillers and going the bed rest route can be ineffective and even dangerous for your health. Hi, I'm Morgan, and for 18 years, I've been massaging clients who are dealing with low back pain. But when the tables were turned, and I was the one who injured my back... it wasn't massage that healed my low back pain... instead, it was a series of highly targeted exercises! Inspired by my experience with reversing my severe low back pain, and fueled by a vibrant enthusiasm to share these exercise routines with anyone who has back pain, I began to passionately research how to quickly cure back pain at home. I learned a wealth of information. In The Essential Lower Back Pain Exercise Guide, you'll learn about my 21-Day, Low Back Pain Relief Program that anyone can use to eliminate low back pain, reverse bad posture, and get better sleep. You'll also learn these important concepts to help change your life. How to stand correctly in six moves. How to sit correctly in eight moves. A 15-minute, doctor-recommended back pain relief exercise routine. Six foam-rolling moves to conquer back pain. A 90-second, tennis-ball method for low back pain relief. A 6-minute emergency treatment that's safe for herniated and bulging discs. Seven exercises to prevent future back spasms and herniated discs. Seven resistance-band exercises for low back pain. Four moves to do before you roll out of bed. Plus much, much more. If you can make time to do a daily 15- to 30-minute back pain relief exercise routine, you'll soon be on your way to feeling good again. It's essential to feel your best to make the most of every day. Let me show you how!

Book Yoga for a Healthy Lower Back

Download or read book Yoga for a Healthy Lower Back written by Liz Owen and published by Shambhala Publications. This book was released on 2013-08-20 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A guide to managing lower back pain through gentle yoga exercises—perfect for beginners and anyone with conditions like fibromyalgia and arthritis The sacrum, or lower back, is an incredibly powerful part of the human anatomy. It’s what enables you to stand upright and tall, it unites your upper and lower body, it roots you to the earth—and it is one of the most common areas where people experience chronic pain and discomfort. Yoga practice can have a transformative effect on lower back problems: it allows the body to gain the range of movement and flexibility that short-circuits the mind’s perception of limitation and pain. Yoga for a Healthy Lower Back will help you understand lower back pain and heal it through gentle exercises that can be done even by those with no previous yoga experience. Liz Owen describes the anatomy of the sacrum and the region around it, including the hips and lumbar spine, and illuminates both the Western and Eastern approaches to understanding back pain. She then provides simple, easy-to-learn sequences of yoga poses for general sacrum health and then for specific issues or conditions such as pregnancy, fibromyalgia, and arthritis, among others.

Book A Guide to Low Back Flexability

Download or read book A Guide to Low Back Flexability written by A. Martin and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was written to give those individuals working at a desk all or most of the workday, whether sitting all day or with periods of standing, more choice when it comes to movements that address the muscles of the lowback where tightness is an issue. Each aEURoeMovementaEUR in this book stands on its own, so you can combine movements from anywhere in the book that work well in combination for your situation. You may also choose to change or alternate movements that give you the relief you need. I started research on this subject over ten years ago during periods of working in combination with other health care professionals specializing in pain management, with someone receiving treatments for low-back issues. I began noticing that individuals were usually given only a few exercises/stretches to do between treatments, to help stay limber. This book gives you the option to choose from a wide assortment of movements that may help you maintain flexibility in the low back region. These movements include the low-back, abdominal and hamstring regions. Low-Back pain is high on the list of pain causing issues that can affect those of all ages. By giving attention to your low-back flexibility today you may avoid having issues related to tight low-back muscles, in future years. The movements in this book may also be adapted for someone who must spend all or the better part of the day in a chair due to limited mobility, caused by muscle tightness in the low-back region.

Book Fitness Measures and Health Outcomes in Youth

Download or read book Fitness Measures and Health Outcomes in Youth written by Institute of Medicine and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2012-12-10 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physical fitness affects our ability to function and be active. At poor levels, it is associated with such health outcomes as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Physical fitness testing in American youth was established on a large scale in the 1950s with an early focus on performance-related fitness that gradually gave way to an emphasis on health-related fitness. Using appropriately selected measures to collected fitness data in youth will advance our understanding of how fitness among youth translates into better health. In Fitness Measures and Health Outcomes in Youth, the IOM assesses the relationship between youth fitness test items and health outcomes, recommends the best fitness test items, provides guidance for interpreting fitness scores, and provides an agenda for needed research. The report concludes that selected cardiorespiratory endurance, musculoskeletal fitness, and body composition measures should be in fitness surveys and in schools. Collecting fitness data nationally and in schools helps with setting and achieving fitness goals and priorities for public health at an individual and national level.
