Book A Sealed High Repetition Rate Tea CO2 Laser

Download or read book A Sealed High Repetition Rate Tea CO2 Laser written by Paul W. Pace and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A compact atmospheric pressure CO2 laser utilizing a double-discharge technique has been constructed and operated at moderate repetition rates. With the addition of small amounts of hydrogen and carbon monoxide to the He-CO2-N2 gas mixture, sealed operational lifetimes exceeding 2 x ten to the 6th power pulses have been obtained. Operating in this mode, the output energy is about 250 mJ/pulse at repetition frequencies of 40-50 pulses/s.

Book High Repetition Rate Tea CO2 Laser

Download or read book High Repetition Rate Tea CO2 Laser written by M. F. Turgeon and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This correspondence reports on the successful operation of a TEA CO2 laser at rates up to 1000 pps with an average output power up to 65 W over long periods of time. An essential feature of the present system is a rapid gas circulation transverse to the laser axis combined with a large volume of ambient gas. It is found that decomposition of the gas is one of the major problems at high repetition rates. (Author).

Book Gas Re Circulation System for a Miniature High Repetition Rate TEA CO2 Laser

Download or read book Gas Re Circulation System for a Miniature High Repetition Rate TEA CO2 Laser written by P. Pace and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 23 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When an atmospheric pressure transverse discharge CO2 laser with forced gas flow is pulsed at a high repetition rate, the minimum time between arc-free discharges is larger than the time predicted by the ratio of discharge width to gas flow velocity. The maximum pulse rate can be predicted by a flow model, the results of which are summarized. The predictions of the model are compared with the experimental results and the design considerations involved in the construction of the gas re-circulation system are presented. (Author).

Book Frequency and Amplitude Characteristics of a High Repetition Rate Hybrid Tea Co2 Laser

Download or read book Frequency and Amplitude Characteristics of a High Repetition Rate Hybrid Tea Co2 Laser written by Jean-Louis Lachambre and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The envelope and frequency characteristics of the output pulse of a high-repetition-rate hybrid TEA-CO2 laser are presented. Both the intrapulse and interpulse laser frequency stability are experimentally determined at repetition rates up to 300 Hz. The recovery of the CW laser signal following the generation of the TEA laser pulse is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. Short term reproducibilities of + or - 2 MHz are observed at a pulse repetition rate of 300 Hz with initial chirp rates of about 1.5 MHz/microsec. Improvements and limits on power and repetition rate are discussed. (Author).

Book Handbook of Molecular Lasers

Download or read book Handbook of Molecular Lasers written by Peter Cheo and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-24 with total page 680 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optical science, engineering, and technology have grown rapidly in the last decade so that today optical engineering has emerged as an important discipline in its own right. This series is devoted to discussing topics in optical engineering at a level that will be useful to those working in the field or attempting to design systems that are based on optical techniques or that have significant optical subsystems.

Book A Compact Sealed Single Mode TEA CO2 Laser

Download or read book A Compact Sealed Single Mode TEA CO2 Laser written by Paul Pace and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A compact, sealed, TEA-CO2 laser utilizing a double-discharge technique has been constructed and operated under single-mode conditions. Sealed operational lifetimes exceeding 1,000,000 pulses have been obtained by the addition of small quantities of hydrogen and CO to the initial gas mixtures. It has also been found that operation without helium is possible giving single-mode output energies of about 35 mJ/pulse at peak powers of about 150 kW. The pulse repetition frequency was 0.5/s. To obtain single-longitudinal-mode operation, the laser cavity was kept at on overall length of 18 cm. This short laser cavity allowed the oscillation of only one longitudinal mode when the frequency of the cavity was tuned closely to the CO2 line centre frequency. An iris was used to restrict transverse modes to the TEM. Beat frequency measurements using a stable, CW CO2 laser indicate a chirp of about 5-6 MHz/microsec in the tail of the pulse. (Author).

Book Description D une Installation Laser CO2 TEA Haute Cadence

Download or read book Description D une Installation Laser CO2 TEA Haute Cadence written by J. -P. Morency and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 33 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document describes a high-repetition-rate TEA-CO2 laser system which operates in a closed loop and can produce an average output beam power in excess of 1.5 kW at 1 kHz. After a brief outline of the design concepts of this important installation, details are given of the various subsystems involved in the electrical excitation, circulation of gases and control of the optical cavity. Then follow operational characteristics and a description of the behavior of the multimodal beam of radiation. Despite some limitations due to deterioration of gases and thermally induced distortion of the output coupling window, this laser remains reliable and capable of operating continuously for relatively long periods of time. It is also a versatile tool, incorporating several features which make it safe to use. (Author).
