Book Unique Words of the King James Bible

Download or read book Unique Words of the King James Bible written by Jonathan Wheatley and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-03-16 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the result of several years of study of the Apostle Paul's ministry in the Acts of the Apostles, his epistles to the local churches of Asia Minor, Rome, individuals (Timothy, Titus, and Philemon) indeed to the Body of Christ as a whole. Unique words of the King James Bible examine 199 words chosen by the KJB translators that quite often differentiate the ministry of Paul, the principle doctrines of access to God, adoption, dispensation, justification by faith, immortality, etc.The reader will find that many of our English words originated with William Tyndale, the first to translate the Word of God into the English language from the original Hebrew and Greek, words such as immortal, readiness, and ungodliness within the scope of this work. The reader will learn that the KJB translators themselves brought new words into the English language that the previous translator and translations did not have, words such as addicted, fidelity, novice, and thirty other words. The reader will also discover that besides the prescribed previous Bibles,(the translators were to use Tyndale's, Coverdale's, Matthews, Great, Geneva and Bishop's), that they also used the Roman Catholic Rheims New Testament, as evidenced by words such as apprehend, emulation, and theatre, as well as nine others within the scope of this work. This work is designed to serve as a reference book for the student of the Bible, primarily as a theological source, and secondarily as a historical reference of how some words came into the fabric of the English language we speak today.

Book excerpt: For over four centuries, the Word of God was defined as the King James Version of the Bible. No other version has ever matched the beauty of its writing or the depth of its meaning. It is the most published and printed version of the Bible to this day. The King James Version contains the phrases and words that you grew up with and perhaps even memorized. The King James Version Easy Read (KJVER(R)) Bible uses the original 1611 King James Version text (based on the Textus Receptus--Received Text--rather than the revised 1881 Greek and Hebrew text), but it updates the language for the modern reader. Resources to enhance your biblical study are included, such as articles on the names and attributes of God, biblical terms and definitions, historical outlines, an extensive concordance, and detailed maps. Also the special Topical Concordance of Biblical Words, found at the end of this Bible, will provide countless aids for locating desired subjects and verses. The KJVER(R) Bible brings to life the King James Version, making it easier to use and understand. A key feature of the KJVER(R) Bible is the text style. Known as the King James Version Easy Read, it does not change the Word of God but helps explain difficult words and replaces clearly archaic or obsolete words. Not one word of doctrine has been changed. There are many other distinctive features of the KJVER(R) Bible: Words of God highlighted in red in the Old Testament Words of Jesus highlighted in red in the New Testament Difficult terms underlined and explained at the end of the verse. The Bible is a canonical collection of texts considered sacred in Judaism and Christianity. There is no single "Bible" and many Bibles with varying contents exist. Different religious groups include different books within their Biblical canons, in different orders, and sometimes divide or combine books, or incorporate additional material into canonical books.

Book The Sovereign Grace King James Bible

Download or read book The Sovereign Grace King James Bible written by A. John Calvin Study Group and published by . This book was released on 2013-03-17 with total page 610 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many have expressed the wish to read the King James Version of the Holy Bible with additional information provided in the text concerning certain Scriptural passages. It is well known that italic type within the text of the KJV indicates words not literally present in the original language, but which are implied within the larger context of that passage. In the same spirit, this KJV provides additional information in italic type within the text of certain passages of Scripture which further inform the reader and help clarify the meaning of Biblical words.Examples of the various types of updates that are found within The Sovereign Grace King James Bible:The meaning of the LORD repenting within the scriptural context. There is some confusion concerning the nature of Biblical repentance. Some confuse the sorrow that a human being might feel in preparation for repentance, as the very act of repentance itself. To repent is to reach a critical turning point and then follow through. In the divine plan, it is a pre-ordained turning point in the sovereign grace of God in his purpose toward humanity. It is not an unforeseen whim on the part of God. Genesis 6:6 And, as he had ordained, it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.Jonah 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and, as he had ordained it, God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.The scope of God's grace and effectual call and eternal salvation. There is also some confusion concerning those whom God mercifully and effectually calls unto himself in saving grace. In order to clarify the context of some of these statements, The Sovereign Grace King James Bible retains all words in the KJV, but also supplies in italics some additional information to make the meaning clear. 2 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all kinds of men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any of his elect should perish, but that all whom he hath predestined should come to repentance. The use and proper semantic range of the word "world" as used in Scripture. The Greek word KOSMOS has too often been misconstrued as always signifying every person on this planet. The abuse of this word has led to much error. In the interest of clarity and doctrinal accuracy, some additional information is supplied in a number of passages.John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world of the elect.1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world of God's elect.1 John 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world of the reprobate hate you.By these examples the reader can understand the method of this edition of the KJV of the Bible. The intent is to not alter a single word in the original text. Only by the use of italic type is any information added to clarify the particular verse in question.
