Book Time Series

    Book Details:
  • Author : Dimitris N. Politis
  • Publisher : CRC Press
  • Release : 2019-12-09
  • ISBN : 0429527225
  • Pages : 427 pages

Download or read book Time Series written by Dimitris N. Politis and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2019-12-09 with total page 427 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Time Series: A First Course with Bootstrap Starter provides an introductory course on time series analysis that satisfies the triptych of (i) mathematical completeness, (ii) computational illustration and implementation, and (iii) conciseness and accessibility to upper-level undergraduate and M.S. students. Basic theoretical results are presented in a mathematically convincing way, and the methods of data analysis are developed through examples and exercises parsed in R. A student with a basic course in mathematical statistics will learn both how to analyze time series and how to interpret the results. The book provides the foundation of time series methods, including linear filters and a geometric approach to prediction. The important paradigm of ARMA models is studied in-depth, as well as frequency domain methods. Entropy and other information theoretic notions are introduced, with applications to time series modeling. The second half of the book focuses on statistical inference, the fitting of time series models, as well as computational facets of forecasting. Many time series of interest are nonlinear in which case classical inference methods can fail, but bootstrap methods may come to the rescue. Distinctive features of the book are the emphasis on geometric notions and the frequency domain, the discussion of entropy maximization, and a thorough treatment of recent computer-intensive methods for time series such as subsampling and the bootstrap. There are more than 600 exercises, half of which involve R coding and/or data analysis. Supplements include a website with 12 key data sets and all R code for the book's examples, as well as the solutions to exercises.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses the basic ideas, underlying principles, mathematical formulations, analysis and applications of the different combinatorial problems under uncertainty and attempts to provide solutions for the same. Uncertainty influences the behaviour of the market to a great extent. Global pandemics and calamities are other factors which affect and augment unpredictability in the market. The novel methods which are incorporated in practical scenarios under uncertain circumstances include the STAR heuristic approach, Matrix geometric method, Ranking function and Pythagorean fuzzy numbers, to name a few. Distinct problems which are considered in this book under uncertainty include scheduling, cyclic bottleneck assignment problem, bilevel transportation problem, multi-index transportation problem, retrial queuing, uncertain matrix games, optimal production evaluation of cotton in different soil and water conditions, the healthcare sector, intuitionistic fuzzy quadratic programming problem, and multi-objective optimization problem. This book may serve as a valuable reference for researchers working in the domain of optimization for solving combinatorial problems under uncertainty. Book Advances in Pairwise Comparisons

Download or read book Advances in Pairwise Comparisons written by Jiri Mazurek and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-03-22 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book tackles issues associated with inconsistency in pairwise comparisons from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Human judgments are seldom absolutely consistent, or absolutely precise, therefore problems of measuring and handling inconsistency belong among hot topics of the current research, especially in the theoretical framework of multiple criteria decision aiding (MCDA). The book presents and discusses the state-of-the-art of this field including both cardinal and ordinal inconsistency, the problems of different scales for comparisons and inconsistency reduction, and the alternative approaches to inconsistency detection and measurement. This book is a unique one-stop guide for readers who are interested in inconsistency in pairwise comparisons. Researchers and practitioners in the area of multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) will find this informative book particularly valuable.

Book Neutrosophic Sets and Systems vol 50 2022

Download or read book Neutrosophic Sets and Systems vol 50 2022 written by Florentin Smarandache and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on 2022-06-01 with total page 674 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Neutrosophic Sets and Systems” has been created for publications on advanced studies in neutrosophy, neutrosophic set, neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic probability, neutrosophic statistics that started in 1995 and their applications in any field, such as the neutrosophic structures developed in algebra, geometry, topology, etc. Neutrosophy is a new branch of philosophy that studies the origin, nature, and scope of neutralities, as well as their interactions with different ideational spectra. This theory considers every notion or idea together with its opposite or negation and with their spectrum of neutralities in between them (i.e. notions or ideas supporting neither nor ). The and ideas together are referred to as . Neutrosophy is a generalization of Hegel's dialectics (the last one is based on and only). According to this theory every idea tends to be neutralized and balanced by and ideas - as a state of equilibrium. In a classical way , , are disjoint two by two. But, since in many cases the borders between notions are vague, imprecise, Sorites, it is possible that , , (and of course) have common parts two by two, or even all three of them as well. Neutrosophic Set and Neutrosophic Logic are generalizations of the fuzzy set and respectively fuzzy logic (especially of intuitionistic fuzzy set and respectively intuitionistic fuzzy logic).

Download or read book A Python Tool for Implementations on Bipolar Neutrosophic Matrices written by Selçuk Topal and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bipolar neutrosophic matrices (BNM) are obtained by bipolar neutrosophic sets. Each bipolar neutrosophic number represents an element of the matrix. The matrices are representable multi-dimensional arrays (3D arrays). The arrays have nested list data type. Some operations, especially the composition is a challenging algorithm in terms of coding because there are so many nested lists to manipulate. This paper presents a Python tool for bipolar neutrosophic matrices. The advantage of this work, is that the proposed Python tool can be used also for fuzzy matrices, bipolar fuzzy matrices, intuitionistic fuzzy matrices, bipolar intuitionistic fuzzy matrices and single valued neutrosophic matrices.

Book Random Matrix Methods for Machine Learning
