Innovations and Developments of Swarm Intelligence Applications explores the emerging realm of swarm intelligence, which finds its basis in the natural social behavior of animals. The study and application of this swarm behavior has led scientists to a new world of research as ways are found to apply this behavior to independent intelligent agents, creating complex solutions for real world applications. Worldwide contributions have been seamlessly combined in this comprehensive reference, providing a wealth of new information for researchers, academicians, students, and engineers.

Book Body as Medium of Meaning

Download or read book Body as Medium of Meaning written by and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2004 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bodies move, and they express. There is a body language, and there is a language employed to refer to the body, its parts, and the states of its being. Consciously and unconsciously people judge each other according to body and clothing behavior. What one thinks one expresses is not necessarily how one is seen and judged, and the variety of observations made of the body is diverse. Bodily behavior and interpretations of this behavior face change at frontiers of culture areas, or when cultures meet each other as a result of migration. This book addresses and expands upon these issues. Soheila Shahshahani teaches at the Shahid Beheshti University, Teheran, Iran.

Book Dice Doodle Droll Dance

Download or read book Dice Doodle Droll Dance written by Madhu Kapoor and published by Blue Rose Publishers. This book was released on 2024-02-08 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book explores the wonders of philosophical thoughts and their delightful effect in such a way that it gives the impression of a buffet with several main courses, desserts, fruits, vegetables, and a pile of absurd things. It challenges one’s faith and pushes one to the brink of the abyss. One is given bits only that are outside any structural-frame-work. The way of thinking delving deep into common sense may demolish the structure of one’s thought. There is no guarantee that the end of one’s inquiry will leave one the same person which one was at the beginning. These pieces are inconclusive-conclusions of paradoxes, which the author crossed across. The writing may look little dicey to the reader but with the tool of doodle it digs the drolling existence to enhance the dancing fruition of the dice thrown on the cognitive-tabletop.

Book Magnetic Orientation in Animals

Download or read book Magnetic Orientation in Animals written by Roswitha Wiltschko and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Biological effects of magnetic fields have been studied in many animals and plants. The magnetic fields were of a wide intensity range and, as alternating fields, of a wide frequency range and of a variety of impulse shapes. Effects on the cellular level, on bio chemical processes, growth and development, interactions with physiology, sensory input, reflexes and rhythm control, to name just a few, have been reported. Numerous magnetically induced changes in behavior have also been described. Recently, the amount of literature covering biological effects of magnetic fields has been rapidly increasing. By now it has grown to such an extent that it can no longer be covered in one volume. Most reviews specialize and focus on particular aspects and/or types of fields or effects. For example, the book edited by MARET et al. (1986) gives an overview on biological effects of steady magnetic fields, MISAKIAN et al. (1993) reviewed those of extremely low frequency magnetic fields, focusing on in vitro effects. BERN HARD (1992) reported on 'electromagnetic smog' in view of pos sible effects on human health and well-being, and a series of papers edited by AMEMIYA (1994) summarizes Japanese research on effects of electromagnetic fields ranging from extern ely low to ultra-high frequencies. TENFORDE (1979) and ADEY (1981) sum marized and discussed tissue interactions, REITER (1993a) neu roendocrine and neurochemical changes associated with various kinds of electromagnetic fields. The book edited by KIRSCHVINK et al.
