Book Understanding Shall Preserve You

Download or read book Understanding Shall Preserve You written by Joel Uzoma and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-11 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding Shall Preserve You The True Steps To Greatness Many Christians nowadays do not really understand God from His Word. Moreover, it's only what we know and understand that should be useful to us. This understanding is not gained easily. There must be a search for it through the Word of God. This is the truth that will help us to comprehend a great deal of God's Kingdom principles and power. We must understand what the Lord wants us to do. Implanting Christ's Word in our hearts and allowing it to be deeply rooted in our souls, is a step towards greatness in life. The Word has the power to renew our minds and establish us according to the Will of God. One of the cardinal principles of the Scripture is that the measure, with which we give, shall be returned to us. Therefore spending quality time to learn and study God's Word, will eventually lead to a proportionate or corresponding reward in knowledge with understanding. King Solomon understood this when he wrote, "For the Lord giveth wisdom; out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding."(Proverbs 2:6). These three elements of truth are the concrete steps to true prosperity that God gives. Perfect understanding of God's principles and walking in His way is our key. Pastor Joel Uzoma writes with deep insight of God's Kingdom principles based on the Word of God. He pastored Churches in Africa before the Lord directed him and his wife to the United States of America. He pastors a Church in Houston, Texas. The Lord blessed his marriage with a son.

Book I Got My Life Back

Download or read book I Got My Life Back written by ,Dan and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I Got My Life Back The author was called to preach the Gospel in 1974 and has served the Lord as a pastor, church planter, and chaplain. In 2016, his life was changed when he developed heart disease that resulted in a triple bypass surgery. After recovering from surgery, he was regaining his health back when he developed heart failure that took him into the valley of death. Prior to Christmas of 2017, the author had a divine encounter with Dr. Wencker, the medical director of Advanced Heart Failure Program at Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and was hospitalized to determine if he was a heart transplant candidate. The author was admitted into the heart transplant program at Baylor Hospital, Dallas, Texas, and in March of 2018 had a successful heart transplant and currently recovering. After awakening from transplant surgery his first words were "I Got My Life Back," which is the title of this book. The author writes of his experience and journey from heart disease to the heart transplant. The author writes this book from the biblical world view and not the world view that is so prevalent today. During his journey through the valley of death the author discovered that God is a God of infinite love and tender mercies, and that he hears and answers prayers and still performs miracles today. Because of His belief and faith in Christ the author is a living miracle and a testimony of the love, grace, and power of God. (A portion of the proceeds of the book sales will be donated to the Baylor Heart Transplant Center [Financial Services] to help heart transplant patients with their medical expenses.)

Book Downcanyon

  • Author : Ann Zwinger
  • Publisher : University of Arizona Press
  • Release : 2015-11-01
  • ISBN : 0816533393
  • Pages : 334 pages

Download or read book Downcanyon written by Ann Zwinger and published by University of Arizona Press. This book was released on 2015-11-01 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every writer comes to the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon with a unique point of view. Ann Zwinger's is that of a naturalist, an "observer at the river's brim." Teamed with scientists and other volunteer naturalists, Zwinger was part of an ongoing study of change along the Colorado. In all seasons and all weathers, in almost every kind of craft that goes down the waves, she returned to the Grand Canyon again and again to explore, look, and listen. From the thrill of running the rapids to the wonder in a grain of sand, her words take the reader down 280 miles of the "ever-flowing, energetic, whooping and hollering, galloping" river. Zwinger's book begins with a bald eagle count at Nankoweap Creek in January and ends with a subzero, snowy walk out of the canyon at winter solstice. Between are the delights of spring in side canyons, the benediction of rain on a summer beach, and the chill that comes off limestone walls in November. Her eye for detail catches the enchantment of small things played against the immensity of the river: the gatling-gun love song of tree frogs; the fragile beauty of an evening primrose; ravens "always in close attendance, like lugubrious, sharp-eyed, nineteenth-century undertakers"; and a golden eagle chasing a trout "with wings akimbo like a cleaning lady after a cockroach." As she travels downstream, Zwinger follows others in history who have risked—and occasionally lost—their lives on the Colorado. Hiking in narrow canyons, she finds cliff dwellings and broken pottery of prehistoric Indians. Rounding a bend or running a rapid, she remembers the triumphs and tragedies of early explorers and pioneers. She describes the changes that have come with putting a big dam on a big river and how the dam has affected the riverine flora and fauna as well as the rapids and their future. Science in the hands of a poet, this captivating book is for armchair travelers who may never see the grandiose Colorado and for those who have run it wisely and well. Like the author, readers will find themselves bewitched by the color and flow of the river, and enticed by what's around the next bend. With her, they will find its rhythms still in the mind, long after the splash and spray and pound are gone.

Book The Eagle Watchers

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ruth Tingay
  • Publisher : Cornell University Press
  • Release : 2011-01-15
  • ISBN : 0801458145
  • Pages : 253 pages

Download or read book The Eagle Watchers written by Ruth Tingay and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2011-01-15 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Eagles have fascinated humans for millennia. For some, the glimpse of a distant eagle instantly becomes a treasured lifelong memory. Others may never encounter a wild eagle in their lifetime. This book was written by people who have dedicated years to the study of eagles, to provide an insider's view for all readers, but especially those who have never been up close and personal with these magnificent yet often misunderstood creatures. In their stories, twenty-nine leading eagle researchers share their remarkable field experiences, providing personal narratives that don't feature in their scientific publications. They tell of their fear at being stalked by grizzly bears, their surprise at being followed by the secret police, their embarrassment when accidentally firing mortar rockets over a school gymnasium, and their sense of awe at tracking eagles via satellite. The reader experiences the cultural shock of being guest of honor at a circumcision ceremony, the absurdity of sharing an aquatic car with the Khmer Rouge, and the sense of foreboding at being press-ganged into a frenzied tribal death march through the jungle. The Eagle Watchers covers twenty-four species on six continents, from well known (bald eagle; golden eagle), to obscure (black-and-chestnut eagle; New Guinea harpy eagle), and from common (African fish eagle) to critically endangered (Philippine eagle; Madagascar fish eagle). The diverse experiences vividly described in this book reveal the passion, dedication, and sense of adventure shared by those who study these majestic birds and strive for their conservation. Featuring stunning color photographs of the eagles, information on raptor conservation, a global list of all eagle species with ranges and conservation status, and a color map of the sites visited in the book, The Eagle Watchers will appeal to birders, conservationists, and adventure travelers alike. To further support the conservation programs described in this book, all royalties are being donated to two leading nonprofit organizations for raptor conservation training and fieldwork: Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Intern Program and the National Birds of Prey Trust.
