Book excerpt: Presenting readers with the most effective techniques for mind control, bestselling martial arts expert and scholar Dr. Haha Lung's Mind Control is the cult-classic guide to breaching an opponent's mental defenses by using his fears, insecurities, hopes, and beliefs against him. Buddha said, "Your greatest weapon is your enemy's mind." Crucial to victory in any battle is psychological warfare, a technique employed and perfected by history's greatest military thinkers, such as Sun Tzu, Yoritomo, and Musashi of Japan; and several lesser-known but incredibly influential masterminds. Dr. Haha Lung, author of more than a dozen books on martial arts, presents an all-in-one primer to breaching your enemy's mental defenses. Building on the techniques he presented in the classic Mind Manipulation, he shows how to use your enemy's fears, insecurities, hopes, and beliefs against him. Some of the most effective mind control techniques are from forgotten masters of the trade, and are featured here for the very first time: Dark Arts: the art of intimidation The Secret of Seven: the Seven Wheels of Power Masters of the East: Including the Craft of the Hircarrah, Vietnamese voodoo Chinese Face: the art of K'ung Ming and Chinese face-reading Samurai Sly: Yoritomo's Art of Influence; the Way of No-Sword; Shadow Warriors. Download or read book Biker S Diary the Best of Ten Years written by Jan Meyer and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-01-31 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bikers Diary started in 1999 as a weekly column in a local newspaper then known as the River Valley Reader, now the Bluff Country Reader. Located in a very popular tourist area, the publishers plan was a newspaper that emphasized local arts, culture, and recreation. Dr. Jan applauded that effort, and had spent a year as a community columnist for another paper, so she submitted some sample columns and proposed this column, written by a biker. Ten successful years later, she was asked by a faithful reader is she intended to publish the columns in a book. That started her thinking, and she asked her publisher for permission to do so, which was granted. At the beginning, Dr. Jan was living in Lincoln, and commuting to her and Spouse Rogers country place near Lanesboro MN. Upon retirement, they chose that country place as their primary residence. Those locations and the people along the way provided fodder for the mill of writing, as have the many places around the world to which they have both traveled and/or at which Dr. Jan has worked. The column started out as a way to capture the ambling and sometimes philosophical thoughts and experiences triggered by almost-daily time spent on a bike. When a serious illness got in the way of biking, the habit of writing about life became almost a tension reliever as she wrote about that experience. In the years since it started, the column has evolved into writing about anything and everything she and others experience in life. This book captures some of the best of those first ten years.
Download or read book The Power of Passion written by Brian M. Gazzard and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2015-04-28 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "You cannot be a Christian if you are 'cool.'The world supposedly admires coolness and has made cool into a term of admiration. Not so with Jesus Christ. He is saying that unless your commitment is 'hot'; unless it is 'passionate' it has no relationship to Him." Elton Trueblood"s statement is compelling for Christians. Only a passionate faith can confront the disturbing personal and social issues of our time. Lukewarm lip service to the great promises of Scripture simply has no sustaining power, and churches which adhere to a lukewarm faith will continue to decline. Theologian Emil Brunner states: "The church exists by mission as a fire exists by burning. " How else can it grow? The only way you know whether anything is on fire is whether it will start another fire. The metaphor of 'fire' is used to describe our relationship with Christ. In the so-called Gospel of Thomas, found in the dry sands of Egypt, Jesus says: "I came to cast fire upon the earth. He who comes close to me comes close to the fire." In this book, Dr. Gazzard seeks to inspire and empower individuals to grow into a passionate faith by sowing seeds of inspiration, drawn from his
