Book Leading Masonic Organizations

Download or read book Leading Masonic Organizations written by Ashley Moye and published by Gatekeeper Press. This book was released on 2023-03-01 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few Freemasons understand the dynamics of the York Rite, its structure, its interdependence and its complexities. This lack of knowledge has been detrimental to organizations, causing leadership pitfalls and years of counterproductive practices. Adverse practices start in the Lodge and the face of a struggling Lodge is often reflected in a struggling Chapter, Council and Commandery. Leaders repeatedly set the conditions and ignore the signs over and over again. This book brings forward the works of a York Rite success story. It relates a tough discussion about a need for change in how organizations might be formed in a more sustainable fashion. How might leaders build where they are, while building towards where they want to be? How can members recognize adverse practices, competing interests, conflict, and consequential struggles? How might leaders adapt practices to ensure continued membership growth and retention? The author suggests strategic approaches to building growth and improving retention and assessing organizational health and sustainability with the future of the fraternity in mind. This book is recommended for all Freemasons, and current leaders and aspiring members of the York Rite.

Book excerpt: THE PERFECT GIFT FOR NEW INITIATES TO THE YORK RITE OF FREEMASONRY OR THOSE CURRENTLY WORKING IN IT This book offers a simplified overview of the York Rite of Freemasonry and is a personal record book for members. Whether it is a given as a gift for the new initiate or purchased as a working tool for those members working in the degree presentations, this handbook offers members a permanent record of their work in the various bodies. It includes sections for recording offices held, special appointments, degree work, charity operations, and training and instructional conferences, as well as service in other bodies of Masonry outside of the York Rite. Understanding the work for a particular degree can be accomplished in days, weeks, months or years. This book allows the member to keep notes and jot down personal reflections on the various degrees, continually adding new understandings about the work, and developing a foundation for expressing and providing new ideas for the members from the teachings. It is compatible for use in all American York Rite Bodies, from the Symbolic Lodges to the regular Concordant Bodies to the Invitational Bodies.

Book Duncan s Masonic Ritual and Monitor

Download or read book Duncan s Masonic Ritual and Monitor written by Malcolm C. Duncan and published by . This book was released on 2019-09-26 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Duncan's Masonic Ritual is a superb guide to the historic rituals and practices of the Freemason societies, for the initiation of new members and the ceremonies of the Masonic lodges. First published in 1866, this book arranges the Freemason customs according to the rank of the member they involve. Beginning with the initiate ranking, known as the 'Entered Apprentice', we are told the dialogue which must take place between the newcomer and the existing members. The arrangement of people in the Masonic building, and the various gestures and signals each must give to one another, are shown in detailed diagrams. The tiers of Master each involve new symbolic gestures and rituals, intended to signify the member's depth of understanding and loyalty to the society. The formal operations of a Masonic society require a variety of meetings and orders of business to take place sequentially. These arrangements are accompanied by a range of handshakes, gestures between members, and even a series of tools that must be held by a certain Mason, or handed from one ranking member to another. Since this book is concerned entirely with the ceremonial traditions of Freemasonry, the social and informal aspects of membership, whereby members hold discussions or organize participation in local events, are scarcely mentioned. The notes included in the appendix and at the end of each part discuss the origins, regional variations in the traditions, and related miscellany.

Book Overcoming the False Verdicts of Freemasonry

Download or read book Overcoming the False Verdicts of Freemasonry written by Ron M. Horner and published by Lifespring Publishing. This book was released on 2024-05-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few organizations in human history have integrated themselves at every level of society like Freemasonry. Although it touts itself as not being a "secret organization" but rather "an organization that has secrets," the result is the same. Men (and women in certain sectors) take oaths to demon gods that bind them, their families, and their future generations to covenants and verdicts that bring destruction on their entire bloodlines. The insidious nature of how these organizations-the Scottish Rite, the York Rite, Shriners, and their many offshoots and entanglements (including the Illuminati) were borne in the councils of hell. This book will help unveil the false verdicts that empower the resulting curses that, on every level of one's life, bring ultimate destruction or fear of destruction. The oaths have bound once honest men to dishonesty, treachery, and even murder. Outsiders who look at the various oaths and entanglements often wonder what would make men take oaths such as those required by Freemasonry-why would otherwise sensible men do so?

Book Duncan s Masonic Ritual and Monitor

Download or read book Duncan s Masonic Ritual and Monitor written by Malcolm C. Duncan and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The purpose of this work is not so much to gratify the curiosity of the uninitiated as to furnish a guide for the neophytes of the Order, by means of which their progress from grade to grade may be facilitated. Every statement in the book is authentic, as every proficient Mason will admit to himself, if not to be public, as he turns over its pages. The non-Masonic reader, as he peruses them, will perhaps be puzzled to imagine why matters of so little real importance to society at large should have been so industriously concealed for centuries, and still more surprised that society should have been so extremely inquisitive about them."-From the Preface.

Download or read book Art Rite written by Walter Robinson and published by . This book was released on 2019-10-16 with total page 620 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This facsimile edition collects all 19 issues of 'Art-Rite' magazine, edited by art critics Walter Robinson and Edit DeAk from 1973 to 1978. Robinson, DeAk and a third editor, Joshua Cohn, met as art history students at Columbia University, and were inspired to found the magazine by their art criticism teacher, Brian O'Doherty. 'Art-Rite', cheaply produced on newsprint, served as an important alternative to the established art magazines of the period. 'Art-Rite' ran for only five years, and published only 19 issues. But in that time the magazine featured contributions from hundreds of artists, a list that now reads like a who's-who of 1970s art: Yvonne Rainer, Gordon Matta-Clark, Alan Vega (Suicide), William Wegman, Nancy Holt, Jack Smith, Dorothea Rockburne, Robert Morris, Adrian Piper, Laurie Anderson, Carolee Schneemann and Carl Andre; critics such as Lucy Lippard contributed writing. Through its single-artist issues and its thematic issues on performance, video and artists' books, 'Art-Rite' championed the new art of its era.
