Join him on an exciting chase after a cattle-killing leopard and a grueling hunt for a grand desert bighorn. Share his adventures for Stone's sheep in the Yukon, desert mule deer in Sonora, and both sable and kudu in Namibia. Look over his shoulder as he hunts bighorn sheep, moose, elk, and deer alone and with his son and daughter. With Divine Assistance is the story of Rosenbruch's amazing and adventurous life. Rosenbruch begins with tales of his life in the state of Alaska, where, in a daring move, he took his wife and young family and started a new life that would, in time, make him a true legend in Alaskan outfitting. His stories of their adventures as they learned the ins and outs of living in the Alaskan bush are exciting ones. With the support of his family and the bastion of his faith, Rosenbruch built his business into a remarkable success and was able to begin following his hunting dreams to the farthest corners of the globe, launching an international hunting career the likes of which few other hunters have ever equaled. The majority of the book covers his international hunting adventures, from his first African safari in Sudan in 1979 to argali hunting in Mongolia in the early 1980s to later adventures in Europe and the South Pacific. He hunted in Turkey at a time when few Westerners had been there, and caught the fall of the Iron Curtain and breakup of the Soviet Union, opening up new opportunities in new places. Many of the hunting destinations and opportunities Rosenbruch experienced have changed irrevocably from when he first experienced them, making this book a glimpse into an era that can truly be considered the Golden Age of Hunting. Book World Hunting Adventures of a Life Time

Download or read book World Hunting Adventures of a Life Time written by Jerry Gillman and published by . This book was released on 2014-09-22 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hunting, what is it all about? Why do we hunt? Hunting could be the most misunderstood sport of our time. Modern society struggles with understanding why educated man enjoys the sport of hunting. Anti-Hunters question the need, necessity and legality for the continuation of the right to hunt when hunting for most of us, is no longer required for our basic survival? So why do we hunt? I grew up listening to stories of my Grandfather talking about his childhood days in Colorado with his father and brothers trapping, hunting and selling bear hides during the late 1920's. I remember my Grandmother's story, told with great joy of her best Buck taken in the 1940's with a 30/30 Winchester saddle gun that I still carry today. Her face would glow as she told the story of dropping the big trophy buck with a single shot as he headed up a steep cannon pass. I remember the story of the big Elk shot with my Grandfather's Lever Action 300 Savage that he left for me when he passed, the disaster Duck hunt and so many more that brought smiles to faces, laughter and joy to the room as these stories were told over and over again during my childhood. When I first started hunting, I was happy to harvest anything. A quail, squirrel, a young doe, any success was a joyous moment for me. As I grew older, more accomplished and experienced, I started Trophy hunting, looking for that one special animal that stood above the rest. My hunting success was measured by the size of the horn and the weight of the Ivory. As I filled the walls of my trophy room with beast from the World over, I traveled further and further from home, hunting in more remote regions of the world, spending time with indigenous people that were raised in vastly different environments with vastly different cultures and customs. When you strip away all the wants and glitter of modern society, and travel to an environment where basic needs of food, water and shelter are the first task of each day's chores, your outlook on life

One can almost taste the camp grub he describes, whether prepared for or by him, smell the scents of the hunting camps and cabins and feel the bitter cold of the 1992 fall hunt or the Delta sheep hunt snowstorm. The descriptions of his many hunting experiences make the reader feel like they were there with him in the wild or on a flight to the next adventure. I can't wait for the sequel! Mike Fleagle, Former Chairman - Alaska Board of Game Pete Buist is undoubtedly the epitome of the outdoorsman in the truest meaning of the term. Trapper, hunter, master guide, firefighter are just some of his accomplishments; in a nutshell, a lifetime of adventure and excitement lived in the manner that makes me envious and at the same time filled with admiration. While guiding Pete in South Africa, it did cross my mind that I would have relished doing a hunt with our roles reversed and basking in the experience of a life well-lived. Pete Tumkulu "Buist has applied his knowledge, experience, and eloquence to add the title of Author to his other accomplishments and has produced a well-written, enjoyable read capable of transporting the reader to those wild places. John" Madala" Barnes Professional Hunter - South Africa The real "trophies" of a life spent outdoors are the stories. Indeed, storytelling is a foundational skill of the seasoned hunter, and Pete's "seasoning" reaches into a stratosphere most of us will never see. I became friends with Pete in 2008, and after only a couple of days of immersing myself in his storytelling prowess, I said, "Pete, you really need to write a book." And here it is. Pete's recall, precise detail, wit, and humor are extraordinary as he takes you along on countless adventures. These entertaining stories are definitely worth the price of admission.
