Book excerpt: Our bond was unbreakable; our love was ever after.I fell in love with Connor Bourke when I was twelve years old.We shared everything together:our first kiss, first love, first mistake, and first regret.I gave him my heart, but he broke it.Now he's back-music's hottest new thing. And he wants me by his side.Eloise Mitchell was a blazing fire when my world turned dark. She'd shined so bright and burned so fierce that the wall I'd built around myself simply melted to the ground at her feet. She showed me that music was my gift, and to use it to speak. She was my voice,my one true love,my everything.Ellie's heart belonged to me.And even though I broke it, I was sure as hell gonna fix it.

This book was released on 2015-12-09 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Words are a very powerful force and it's extremely vital that you learn to choose them carefully. How you say something is as important as what you say - maybe even more important. Understanding the power of your words and when to use them effectively helps to minimize regrets and maximize results. Also, just because you can say something doesn't necessarily mean that you should. Understanding the subtle difference between words that help and words that harm can be overshadowed by emotions such as anger, hurt, bitterness and unforgiveness. Therefore, speaking out doesn't always mean it's beneficial. Perhaps most importantly, how you choose to say things is just as important as choosing when to say them - the timing of our words. This can be a real challenge for those of us who tend to speak first, without thinking. I am sure that every one of us has thought, "Why did I just say that?" The lessons in this book are taken from a practical and a biblical standpoint to use wisdom in knowing what to say, how to say it, and when to say nothing at all. We should all weigh our words and think before we speak. Less talking really can equal better listening, thus opening up the door for better communication. Not only with each other, but it's vital for our relationship with the Lord.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Yeah, I’ve gone through some rough times in my life, but was it really trauma?” You may have found yourself thinking something along these lines, and you wouldn’t be alone. Trauma comes in many shapes and sizes, and on some level, we have all experienced it. The unfortunate reality is that many of us pass off or downplay situations or circumstances in our lives that are, in fact, emotionally traumatic. Left unattended, this trauma can wreak havoc on our minds and bodies, bringing about physical symptoms of pain and rendering us unsafe, anxious, and feeling unfulfilled. In The Unspoken, author Ashley Haseotes shares her story of hitting rock bottom and finally coming to grips with the reality of her trauma. Suffering deeply and feeling overwhelmed, she becomes debilitatingly ill with chronic migraines and vertigo that leave her confined to her bed for months. Unable to work and take care of her children, lost and disconnected from her life purpose, she stares down feelings of unbridled failure and unsurmountable stress. Through Ashley’s journey of chronic pain, a breathtaking spiritual healing is catalyzed. Her memoir is a story of walking through the storm to emerge reborn—to be healed. And if you are willing to do the work, you’ll find an opportunity for your own healing woven into each page.

Book Unspoken and Soothing Words for the Soul

Download or read book Unspoken and Soothing Words for the Soul written by Resé and published by . This book was released on 2005-10 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EDEN is two stories: one fictional, one fact. The fiction: Calif De'Alsace, a man devoted to the dissemination of life across the galaxy, has taken a group of one hundred artists and scientists to a sterile world named Eden for the purpose of bioengineering living works of art. Calif, an Ankh idealist, has decreed that no weapons be brought and that the group create a "paradise of peace where beauty...not the law of tooth and claw...reigns." Unknown to the Eden group, Calif was forced by a powerful man to include an artist, Iamoendi, who has secretly been using drugs to enhance his imaging abilities. Iamoendi, who is descended from Fundamentalist factions that fought in the Religionist Wars, slowly goes insane. Believing himself an instrument of god, Iamoendi turns against Project Eden. He obtains the genome libraries (programmed instructions for bioengineering plants and animals) for insects and arachnids. Subsequently, he creates an army of huge insect warriors, and launches a secret attack against Project Eden. Thirteen survive Iamoendi's attack. Weaponless, they are forced to create living weapons in defense. With the battle lines drawn, the war begins. The survivors create a surprise defense of giganticized ant lions, trapdoor spiders, and carnivorous plants. They defeat Iamoendi's army, but Iamoendi escapes. Two more battles ensue in which Iamoendi's attacking monstrosities become increasingly bizarre and surreal. More and more survivors die with each battle leading to an ending both poignant and transcendent. The fact: In the spirit of Coleridge and Poe who used an opiate to enhance their poetic imagery, in the spirit of Huxley whose use of peyote awakened his awareness to the creative use of mind-altering substances, I have set down my own experiences with altered states as they relate to my creation of EDEN. My intent is to share my insights into the creative process as well as the source and derivation of both the philosophy underlying EDEN and the hallucinatory visions used in the telling of this story. It is a first person account of how, after being accidentally introduced to a hallucinogen, my subsequent use and experimentation became the stuff and substance of my novel EDEN.

Through letters to his daughters that feel personal to all of us, John Sowers encourages us to release these unspoken words of love so there are no doubts in our relationships nor regrets in our lives. "Many of us go through life with words and feelings stranded in our hearts. Words we deeply feel but never say. Sometimes we never have the chance. We don't always get to say goodbye. We don't always know when it will be our last hug, high five, smile, laugh, or 'I love you.' All we have is today, now, and what we do in this one, shining moment." So many of us rarely share our hearts or speak those deep, hidden sentiments—but why? John Sowers began writing letters to his three daughters to show how much he loved them and to encourage them in their daily lives. These moving and eloquent letters remind all of us how important it is to share the contents of our heart now. Say All the Unspoken Things: Covers the topics of bravery, wonder, beauty, kindness, romance, and God's patient love Helps us find our stranded words to speak more freely to those whom we love Moves us from a shallow life to one with deeper meaning and fulfilling relationships While John wrote these letters to his daughters, this beautiful book often feels as though he is speaking directly to readers. These love letters will echo in your own heart, reminding you of your Father in heaven, who loves you and is for you. A treasure for anyone seeking to create a legacy of love in their relationships, you can seize every precious moment you have to say all the unspoken things.

Her life seems to be in order, until disturbing events begin to occur. There has been screaming in the woods and the manor overlooking the town has lit up for the first time in 10 years. . . . The Lynburn family, who ruled the town a generation ago and who all left without warning, have returned. The person speaking isn't fictional but very real and opens himself up wide for the world to salvage pieces they too can relate to. This literary piece speaks volumes on love, pain, mistakes, and personal growth. When you are able to peer into the soul of another person, you realize that you are human too.
