Book Embrace Your Wobbles

Download or read book Embrace Your Wobbles written by Priscilla Shumway and published by Bublish, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-11-25 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No matter what we do in life, we will experience wobbles! Wobbles are the physical and mental challenges we encounter both in our yoga practice and in our daily lives. The essays in this book, written by yoga teachers and practitioners, reveal their personal journeys in learning to accept and even be grateful for the wobbles they experience both on and off the yoga mat. Wobbles, these writers agree, are unavoidable, the key is to notice wobbles, not judge them. This book encourages us to think about the types of wobbles we experience both on and off the yoga mat, and challenges us to become more aware of our habitual, often unconscious, approach to managing wobbles. Finally, this book inspires us to embrace our wobbles as a source of wisdom to help us grow and live a satisfying life.

Book Novice Teachers Embracing Wobble in Standardized Schools

Download or read book Novice Teachers Embracing Wobble in Standardized Schools written by Bob Fecho and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-09-30 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A critical resource for pre-service and practicing teachers, this book addresses what happens when new teachers try to enact inquiry-based and dialogical pedagogy within standardized schools. Exploring the narratives from beginning ELA and humanities teachers when they encounter challenges and obstructions, this book explores moments of wobble—key events that called attention to practice in the context of inflexible schooling systems—that the teachers shared with their peers via an oral inquiry process (OIP) to help them unpack and understand their experiences. This book advocates for the continued use and enhancement of mentoring and induction initiatives, particularly those that recognize the expressed concerns of novice teachers, no matter what their pedagogical stance might be. By sharing novice teachers’ "wobble stories" and their outcomes, this book provides a pathway for teachers’ continued self-reflection and growth for the duration of their careers. The authors offer a reflective, adaptable, and easy-to-use process that places teachers in control of their own professional learning. The beliefs and structures examined in this text support the intentions of all teachers who work from a learning-centered perspective and wish to take some ownership of their professional development.

Book Wobbling Motion in Nuclei Transverse Longitudinal and Chiral

Download or read book Wobbling Motion in Nuclei Transverse Longitudinal and Chiral written by Nirupama Sensharma and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-11-22 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis presents significant new observations of nuclear wobbling, and thus expands our understanding of nuclear triaxiality and its prevalence in the nuclear chart. Triaxial nuclear shapes are a very rare phenomena and their experimental identification often relies on two unique signatures – nuclear wobbling motion and chiral rotation. While nuclear chirality is a well-studied phenomenon, experimental observations of wobbling nuclei are rather limited. With the identification of 135Pr and 187Au as wobblers, this work establishes triaxiality to be a general phenomenon present in different regions of the nuclear chart, irrespective of any particular spin or deformation. A major focus of this work is the detailed investigation of the different kinds of wobbling modes. Depending on the geometry of the nuclear system, wobbling can be classified into two types – longitudinal and transverse. This work has, for the first time, reported evidence of the possible coexistence of both forms of wobbling in a single nucleus. Another important result reported in this work is the very first observation of co-existing chiral and wobbling modes in the 135Pr nucleus. This thesis details the experimental methods that led to this breakthrough, along with pertinent theoretical interpretations.

Book Using Young Adult Literature to Work through Wobble Moments in Teacher Education

Download or read book Using Young Adult Literature to Work through Wobble Moments in Teacher Education written by Dawan Coombs and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2022-07-25 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume offers a novel approach to exploring how literary response groups can be used as part of teacher education programs to help preservice teachers navigate "wobble" moments. Focusing uniquely on the potential of young adult literature (YAL), the text draws on the first-hand experiences of teacher candidates and uses a range of well-known books to demonstrate how narrative-based inquiry and analysis of fictional depictions of teaching and learning can support reflection on a range of common challenges. The volume presents how YAL literary response groups are shown to enhance participants’ ability to reflect on practice, build resilience, and develop deeper understanding of pedagogical principles by offering a shared dialogical space. These insights ultimately contribute to teacher education program improvement by enhancing teacher candidates’ understanding of pedagogy. This text will benefit researchers, doctoral students, and academics in the fields of teaching, teacher mentoring, and teacher education more specifically. Those interested in literature studies and young adult literature (YAL) more broadly will also benefit from this volume.

Book Exotic Nuclear Excitations The Transverse Wobbling Mode in 135 Pr

Download or read book Exotic Nuclear Excitations The Transverse Wobbling Mode in 135 Pr written by James Till Matta and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-03-20 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The work presented in this thesis established the existence of wobbling at low spin and low deformation in the Z~60, N~76 nuclear region. This opens the region to further searches for wobbling and shows that wobbling is not confined to a particular quasiparticle orbital, spin or deformation. While deformed nuclei usually have axial shape, triaxial shapes have been predicted at low to moderate spins in certain regions of the nuclear chart (e.g. Z~60, N~76 and Z~46, N~66). Observation of one of the fingerprints of triaxiality, chirality and wobbling, guarantees that the nucleus is axially asymmetric. While chirality has been observed in numerous nuclei from many regions of the nuclear chart, wobbling, prior to this work, had only been observed at high spins in super deformed bands in five nuclei confined to the Z~70, N~90 region. Additionally, this dissertation establishes a new interpretation for the wobbling phenomenon. It shows for the first time that the nucleon aligns to the short axis, which explains the decrease in wobbling energies with angular momentum seen on this and all previous wobbling nuclei while still explaining the observed B(E2out)B(E2in) ratios. This is a new phenomenon, which is in contrast to the increase of the wobbling energies predicted by Bohr and Mottelson.
