Download or read book Wisdom From Above The Clouds 66 Daily Meditations written by D’Vinny D’Vinny and published by Europa Edizioni. This book was released on 2021-10-31 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wisdom From Above The Clouds is a set of 66 daily meditations, each linked to a passage from the Bible. It is a true literary and religious work which is useful as a supplement to understand the Holy Scriptures with greater application to the various issues of daily life. The author passionately deals with everyday themes and life issues with a religious tone which provides us with explanations of them, going into the depths. It is a book that makes us reflect, page after page, in a touching heart felt manner that uses brevity very effectively. Vincent A. Amos, a.k.a. D’Vinny is a servant of the Most High God. He was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Georgia. His father was a high school biology teacher, and his mother was an elementary school principal. They reared him in a profound protestant home which had strong emphasis on Christianity. D’Vinny was instilled with the belief of service before self; and to give honor to God, family, and country. He has served his nation in the military and was noteworthy assigned as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in the rank of captain. He holds two college degrees, is married with children, and has traveled to 5 continents, to over 30 states in US and over 20 countries around the world. Most of this book was written when he lived in Europe and the Middle East. D’Vinny retired as an Army lieutenant colonel from Fort Monmouth, New Jersey in year 2004. He believes that “Jesus The Christ”, is the Son Of The Living God, who is Savior Of The World due to His redemptive action on the cross, which removed all sins from all mankind who believes, have faith, loves, and follows Jesus. D’Vinny was guided by the Hand Of God to write this book of meditation, reflection, and reference. The primary objective is to help people come into a greater understanding with The Creator, by becoming closer to His Holy Word - The Bible. Always affectionately In Christ, Vincent A. Amos a.k.a. “D’Vinny”

Book Wisdom to Heal the Earth

Download or read book Wisdom to Heal the Earth written by Tzvi Freeman and published by Ezra Press. This book was released on 2018-10 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Bringing Heaven Down To Earth, Tzvi Freeman explored an original means to deliver the wisdom of a great sage of our times, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, known universally as simply "the Rebbe." Using pithy yet highly readable, brief meditations, that book unveiled for us a deeper meaning to life and provided practical guidance to weather its waves and storms. It is a book that changed tens of thousands of lives. Now, in Wisdom to Heal the Earth, Freeman continues with that winning format, this time along with complementary brief essays. But now he takes us yet further, peering toward the Rebbe's vision of a world towards which all humanity is headed, and demonstrating how the details of our everyday lives are vital, crucial, and today especially urgent in reaching that grand and ultimate destiny. In Jewish parlance we call this Tikun Olam"€"the notion that we all enter this world with a mission to accomplish: to repair and perfect our assigned share of the world, so that it can become the world its Creator meant it to be.

Book I Love Jesus But I Want to Die

Download or read book I Love Jesus But I Want to Die written by Sarah J. Robinson and published by WaterBrook. This book was released on 2021-05-11 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Book The Daily Stoic

Download or read book The Daily Stoic written by Ryan Holiday and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2016-10-18 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the team that brought you The Obstacle Is the Way and Ego Is the Enemy, a daily devotional of Stoic meditations—an instant Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestseller. Why have history's greatest minds—from George Washington to Frederick the Great to Ralph Waldo Emerson, along with today's top performers from Super Bowl-winning football coaches to CEOs and celebrities—embraced the wisdom of the ancient Stoics? Because they realize that the most valuable wisdom is timeless and that philosophy is for living a better life, not a classroom exercise. The Daily Stoic offers 366 days of Stoic insights and exercises, featuring all-new translations from the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, the playwright Seneca, or slave-turned-philosopher Epictetus, as well as lesser-known luminaries like Zeno, Cleanthes, and Musonius Rufus. Every day of the year you'll find one of their pithy, powerful quotations, as well as historical anecdotes, provocative commentary, and a helpful glossary of Greek terms. By following these teachings over the course of a year (and, indeed, for years to come) you'll find the serenity, self-knowledge, and resilience you need to live well.

Book Daily Reflections

Download or read book Daily Reflections written by A a and published by . This book was released on 2017-07-27 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book of reflections by A.A. members for A.A. members. It was first published in 1990 to fulfill a long-felt need within the Fellowship for a collection of reflections that moves through the calendar year--one day at a time. Each page contains a reflection on a quotation from A.A. Conference-approved literature, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, As Bill Sees It and other books. These reflections were submitted by members of the A.A. Fellowship who were not professional writers, nor did they speak for A.A. but only for themselves, from their own experiences in sobriety. Thus the book offers sharing, day by day, from a broad cross section of members, which focuses on the Three Legacies of Alcoholics Anonymous: Recovery, Unity and Service. Daily Reflections has proved to be a popular book that aids individuals in their practice of daily meditation and provides inspiration to group discussions even as it presents an introduction for some to A.A. literature as a whole.
