Book Will Ferrell Saved My Life and God Helped

Download or read book Will Ferrell Saved My Life and God Helped written by B.L. Iyver and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-07-21 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When living becomes harder than dying, what option is there to end the suffering other than suicide? For men who are both proud and ashamed, we do not ask for help and often simply do not want it. But there is no question we need it. The afflictions from which we suffer leave us exhausted and defeated, barely hanging on to manage keeping our jobs, sustaining a marriage, or hoping to raise children without doing more damage than good. Anxiety and depression are brutal punishers that come and go without invitation, and our quest to control and defeat them can take us to the brink of sanity just as much as the afflictions themselves already do. Thoughts that are irrational appear rational, and options that are terrible can appear to be acceptable. “Perhaps if I was no longer here, I could end my suffering and finally rest. I could end the suffering of those around me and no longer be a burden that neither they nor I will ever overcome.” Suicide. Why are so many choosing it? As COVID-19 ravages the emotional health of millions of people around the globe, the isolation and disruption are pushing those of us suffering from anxiety and depression even closer to the edge, if not completely over it. But death is not the answer, and suicide is not the only choice. Through my story, I hope to help you, the reader, find relatability and claw your way to a point of resolve that will allow you to take steps toward saving yourself. For the sake of yourself and those you love, preserving your life can be done. Please don’t give up. Whether you are currently a Christian or not, it does not matter. You can be saved.

Book The Sensitive One

Download or read book The Sensitive One written by Susan F. Morris and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2021-08-24 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At age fifty, Susan Morris is diagnosed with breast cancer—and she’s floored. Desperate to pinpoint the cause, one night she decides to type a question into her search engine: “What are the risk factors of getting breast cancer?” She’s surprised to discover research showing that long-term exposure to stress and traumatic childhood experiences can both increase the risk of breast cancer. The Sensitive One is a braided memoir that alternates between Morris’s childhood—as a sensitive child and then teenager who shouldered the burden of caring for her younger siblings as her dad’s alcoholism tore at the threads of their home life—and an adult who for a decade-plus has been living a trauma-free life with a caring husband and rewarding career in nursing . . . only to be diagnosed with breast cancer. This is a story of redemption—of a woman who manages to escape harrowing circumstances and start anew—but it’s also a story of how our legacy lives within us, and how healing from the adverse effects of childhood can truly take a lifetime.

Book excerpt: Fearless in 21 Days is a testimony of hope and a day-by-day guide to healing the mind using mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual applications for those bound by crippling fear, anxiety, panic disorders, and depression. In the summer of 2013, family and friends watched helplessly as author Sarah E. Ball spiraled into the darkest season of her life. A passionate woman of God, wife, mom of five, and popular blogger, Sarah nevertheless found herself abruptly taken captive by a severe anxiety and panic disorder that left her bedridden for months. Those around her were shocked at her fast derailment because she had always been a very strong, dependable woman. With time and perseverance, her determination and faith in God led her out of anxiety and into a place of complete freedom. After Sarah found deliverance from mental illness she was determined to reach back into the pit and pull the next person out. She began sharing the intimate details of her breakdown and recovery with her readers, creating an online series Fearless in 21 Days as a daily guide to overcoming anxiety. After the series gained an increasing amount of attention, Sarah expanded the series into an award-winning full book manuscript. In Fearless in 21 Days, Sarah takes the readers through 21 revelations that focus on healing the whole self-body, mind, and soul-and bridging the gap between effective mental health therapies and Scripture. The book begins with practical tips that can dramatically reduce the immediate symptoms of anxiety and then dives deeper into spiritual and mental truths to create a hope-filled guide to freedom from anxiety so that readers may boldly and bravely fulfill their purpose in Christ-fearlessly.

What would happen if the world were ending? A catastrophic event renders the earth a ticking time bomb. In a feverish race against the inevitable, nations around the globe band together to devise an ambitious plan to ensure the survival of humanity far beyond our atmosphere, in outer space. But the complexities and unpredictability of human nature coupled with unforeseen challenges and dangers threaten the intrepid pioneers, until only a handful of survivors remain . . . Five thousand years later, their progeny—seven distinct races now three billion strong—embark on yet another audacious journey into the unknown . . . to an alien world utterly transformed by cataclysm and time: Earth. A writer of dazzling genius and imaginative vision, Neal Stephenson combines science, philosophy, technology, psychology, and literature in a magnificent work of speculative fiction that offers a portrait of a future that is both extraordinary and eerily recognizable. As he did in Anathem, Cryptonomicon, the Baroque Cycle, and Reamde, Stephenson explores some of our biggest ideas and perplexing challenges in a breathtaking saga that is daring, engrossing, and altogether brilliant.
