Book Wesley s Stupendous Spectacular Amazing Wild Ride to Heaven

Download or read book Wesley s Stupendous Spectacular Amazing Wild Ride to Heaven written by Dan Tammi Ketterman and published by . This book was released on 2022-09-07 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wesley's Stupendous, Spectacular, Amazing, Wild Ride to Heaven is a book written as a tribute to Wesley James Cockerill. Wesley was born with Noonan Syndrome, a genetic disorder that prevents normal development in various parts of the body. While Wesley had some other developmental issues, his heart was most effected by the Noonan Syndrome. During his nineteen months here on this earth Wesley was one of the happiest little boys you would ever meet. He loved playing and being with his brothers and cousins. Every Wednesday the cousins gathered at Grammy Mick and Pa's house and had Cousins Club. It was one of Wesley's favorite days playing with his brothers and his cousins. Wesley passed away on June 9, 2020. The original purpose in writing this book was inspired by watching Wesley's Brothers, Will and Wyatt, going through a scrap book of pictures with captions, of Wesley, that his parents had made. Will said they made it so, "we would not forget Wesley". Initially the thought was that this book would be for family and friends to have a copy as a memory of Wesley and to give the brothers and cousins an idea of what Wesley may be experiencing in Heaven. Many children and adults fear the unknown. This includes Heaven. The hope is that this little story will be read by children and adults alike and give them a positive view of Heaven. And reassure the reader that Heaven is a place full of love, joy, and fun and that God is a God of love. (1 John 4:16) While born in sorrow this book strives to transform the loss of Wesley into the joyous truth that God wants everyone to experience salvation through His son and enjoy eternity in that place, we call Heaven. (Psalm 30:11) Future titles may include Wesley Meets King David, Wesley Meets Daniel, Wesley Meets Paul, Wesley Meets Jesus' Family and Wesley Meets Jesus' Cousins Club.

Book Falling Up

Download or read book Falling Up written by Dana Liesegang and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2015-11-10 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I absolutely love this girl, and I love this book. I know you will, too." - Dr. Wayne W. Dyer From the time Dana Liesegang could walk, she was out looking for adventure, and she never stopped. As a fearless child in the Pacific Northwest, she climbed trees, caught frogs, and held her own with any boy in town. She brought that true-grit, fire-in-her-belly attitude to the Navy . . . and to her recovery from the unthinkable. At the age of 19, she was sexually assaulted by a fellow sailor and thrown off a cliff, left for dead. She survived—but woke up in a hospital hours later paralyzed from the neck down, with doctors giving no hope for recovery. They underestimated the spirit and stubbornness of their patient. In Falling Up: My Wild Ride from Victim to Kick-Ass Victory, Dana recounts her agonizing and sometimes comical struggle from total dependence to doing the "impossible": walking again. With equal parts humor and rawness, she brings us along on her wild ride, as she navigates her new world, hurtles through rocky relationships, deals with family secrets, and returns to her love of sports and the outdoors. In the process, she learns the importance of forgiveness, discovers the awe-inspiring power of belief and perseverance, and transforms herself from silent victim to outspoken advocate and inspiration for people everywhere. After all, sometimes an unexpected fall can lead a person to reach for magnificent heights.

Book A Thousand Hills to Heaven

Download or read book A Thousand Hills to Heaven written by Josh Ruxin and published by Little, Brown. This book was released on 2013-11-05 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One couple's inspiring memoir of healing a Rwandan village, raising a family near the old killing fields, and building a restaurant named Heaven. Newlyweds Josh and Alissa were at a party and received a challenge that shook them to the core: do you think you can really make a difference? Especially in a place like Rwanda, where the scars of genocide linger and poverty is rampant? While Josh worked hard bringing food and health care to the country's rural villages, Alissa was determined to put their foodie expertise to work. The couple opened Heaven, a gourmet restaurant overlooking Kigali, which became an instant success. Remarkably, they found that between helping youth marry their own local ingredients with gourmet recipes (and mix up "the best guacamole in Africa") and teaching them how to help themselves, they created much-needed jobs while showing that genocide's survivors really could work together. While first a memoir of love, adventure, and family, A Thousand Hills to Heaven also provides a remarkable view of how, through health, jobs, and economic growth, our foreign aid programs can be quickly remodeled and work to end poverty worldwide.

Book Chaos Under Heaven

Download or read book Chaos Under Heaven written by Josh Rogin and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2021-03-09 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The explosive, behind-the-scenes story of Donald Trump’s high-stakes confrontation with Beijing, from an award-winning Washington Post columnist and peerless observer of the U.S.–China relationship There was no calm before the storm. Donald Trump’s surprise electoral victory shattered the fragile understanding between Washington and Beijing, putting the most important relationship of the twenty-first century in the hands of a novice who had bitterly attacked China from the campaign trail. Almost as soon as he entered office, Trump brought to a boil the long-simmering rivalry between the two countries, while also striking up a “friendship” with Chinese president Xi Jinping — whose manipulations of his American counterpart would undermine the White House’s already disjointed response to the historic challenge of a rising China. All the while, Trump’s own officials fought to steer U.S. policy from within. By the time the COVID-19 pandemic erupted in Wuhan, Trump’s love-hate relationship with Xi had sparked a trade war, while Xi’s aggression had pushed the world to the brink of a new Cold War. But their quarrel had also forced a long-overdue reckoning within the United States over China’s audacious foreign-influence operations, horrific human rights abuses, and creeping digital despotism. Ironically, this awakening was one of the biggest foreign-policy victories of Trump’s fractious term in office. Filled with shocking revelations drawn from Josh Rogin’s unparalleled access to top U.S. officials from the White House and deep within the country’s foreign policy machine, Chaos Under Heaven reveals an administration at war with itself during perhaps our most urgent hour.

Book God Willing

Download or read book God Willing written by Eric Navarro and published by Potomac Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2008 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ten U.S. Marines are assigned to live, train, and go into battle with more than five hundred raw and undisciplined Iraqi soldiers. A member of this Adviser Support Team, Capt. Eric Navarro, recounts their tour in vivid and brutally honest detail. Their deployment comes at a particularly important time in the war. The Battle of Fallujah is raging, and President Bush has proclaimed training the Iraqi forces is the key to winning the war. Once they stand up, we can stand down, or so the theory goes. Navarro's team, nicknamed The Drifters, faces countless roadblocks--no interpreters initially, limited supplies, little contact with other U.S. forces, and a vast cultural gulf with the Iraqis. One hackneyed and fatalistic Arabic phrase seems to sum up the mission, "Insha Allah," which translates as "God willing" or "if God wills it." Whether riding into downtown Fallujah in an unarmored Nissan pick-up truck, living in squalor in abandoned buildings, dodging trigger-happy troops, sharing FHM magazine with Iraqi soldiers to boost morale, or getting attacked by insurgent rockets less than an hour after arriving, life is never easy and more often surreal. The Drifters' trials and tribulations help shed light on this most under-reported aspect of the war: What is wrong with the new Iraqi Army? The answer is not as pretty as the politicians would like.
