Book Why Does an Orderly God Allow Disorder

Download or read book Why Does an Orderly God Allow Disorder written by Patience Johnson and published by BalboaPress. This book was released on 2012-09-24 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this book in my darkest time and realized that I must use my experiences to teach people many ways to enjoy both sides of life. I believe that there is no such thing as a good time or bad time in life. Rather, I see opportunities for creative invention, regeneration, growth, circumcision of heart, and thinking about the past and the future. I wrote this book to answer some of the worlds most commonly asked questions, which always cross my mind. I propose many sources of the problems we have in the world, as well as solutions for how to handle them. Do the politicians really have the solution to our economic problems? Can the world ever experience peace and harmony? Has religion done us more harm than good? Is there really a God? If there is one, where can we find him/her? I think that, after reading this book, most of your questions will be answered. Human beings forget that there are two sides to everything: the good and the bad, the sun and the moon, night and day, light and darkness. Unfortunately, we choose to see only the good sides of existence as being beneficial and refuse to embrace and see the opportunities that can come from the hard times. We may be so busy seeing the faults of other people and not our own; could that be one of the reasons we seem to misunderstand each other? I hope to impart my wisdom to you. Do not worry about death, but consider how to be prepared when it comes. Additionally, you must acknowledge God and his sovereignty, and not only by attending church or Mosque. This book also teaches about parenting, attitudes, character and many other things about life.

Book The Philosophy of the M z

Download or read book The Philosophy of the M z written by Chris Fraser and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2016-09-13 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mohism was an ancient Chinese philosophical movement founded in the fifth century BCE by the charismatic artisan Mòzi, or "Master Mo." Its practitioners advanced a consequentialist ethics, along with fascinating political, logical, and epistemological theories, that set the terms of philosophical argumentation and reflection in China for generations to come. Mohism faded away in the imperial era, leaving the impression that it was not as vital as other Chinese philosophical traditions, yet a complete understanding of Confucianism or Daoism is impossible without appreciating the seminal contribution of Mohist thought. The Philosophy of the Mòzi is an extensive study of Mohism, situating the movement's rise and decline within Chinese history. The book also emphasizes Mohism's relevance to modern systems of thought. Mohism anticipated Western utilitarianism by more than two thousand years. Its political theory is the earliest to outline a just war doctrine and locate the origins of government in a state of nature. Its epistemology, logic, and psychology provide compelling alternatives to contemporary Western mentalism. More than a straightforward account of Mohist principles and practice, this volume immerses readers in the Mohist mindset and clarifies its underpinning of Chinese philosophical discourse.

Book Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ

Download or read book Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ written by JOHN PIPER and published by Inter-Varsity Press. This book was released on 2020-05-21 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met Him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.
