Book excerpt: A Desperate Race Across the Desert Newly retired police officer Harry Bronson has one regret in his career: the murder he never solved. It was his first case as a rookie, and the only one he played strictly by the book. Perhaps that's why he still has the files with him more than twenty years later. And why he's ready when the killer that got away comes back, ready to resume the game. Cryptic letters, along with an invitation to join a murder-mystery convention with an eerily familiar plot, lure him to Arizona--and another murder makes him realize he's up against a twisted mind intent on some kind of final showdown. When his faceless enemy strikes out by abducting Bronson's wife, Carol, a desperate race across the desert is about to become a one-way trip where winner takes all, and the loser dies trying. An Agatha Finalist for Best Novel and a Pennsylvania Top 40 Pick Comments on this mystery and suspense Holy Crap, Casey nearly killed me! I stayed up WAY past my bedtime because I had to finish L.C. Hayden's mystery suspense. God in heaven, my heart was hammering at the end. I was lying in bed, reading as fast as I could, checking the clock and knowing I was going to regret being up this late, but I could not stop until I found out what happened. The book is fast paced, the clues there, but difficult to interpret, and the solution more than satisfactory. It's a tight, fascinating mystery. I can't wait to read more by this author. I urge you to hunt for it - cause this mystery thriller suspense is a must read for sure. Sarah Bewley myspace.com This is a fascinating story, well written, with interestingly complex characters. The puzzle was compelling, and I found it interesting to learn about geocaching, something, I must admit, I would never do myself, but which sounds quite intriguing. This mystery suspense is a book that was suspenseful throughout, but particularly at the very end. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Why Casey Had to Die is a twisted, roller coaster mystery and suspense ride that will take you over the river and through the woods before the reader ever understands who's going down and why. At times, it is even a mystery comedy. Five stars. Lillian Cauldwell Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radio Who is Harry Bronson? He likes to ask questions but very rarely answers them. He likes his coffee and loves his wife, Carol. As I read this mystery and suspense, I did not want to stop and knew that if the phone rang, I would not answer it. I wanted no interruptions. It has been a long time I have been this invested in such a well-crafted book; I literally could not put it down. I hope this will be listed as a mystery in kindle unlimited. I await the next Harry Bronson mystery suspense installment. Clara Johnson Mystery Morgue

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Templar betrayal, a stolen throne and a madman who would be king... A simple assignment goes horribly wrong: the Bone Guard runs afoul of modern knights, ancient Assassins and the self-proclaimed King of Jerusalem, hell-bent on reclaiming his throne. In the palace of the Byzantine Emperor stood a technological wonder fusing mystic symbols and ancient technologies: the awe-inspiring Throne of Solomon, challenging the unworthy with automated figures made of gold. In 1204, the Fourth Crusade pillaged Constantinople and cast the throne into darkness, the stuff of legend. . . until now. When a wealthy roboticist hires the Bone Guard for her charity photo shoot, it's the perfect chance for some R'n'R. Stand around looking tough, transfer an ancient manuscript, retire to the client's mansion for a night of luxury--what could possibly go wrong? Then Grant's stand-in gets shot, their objective stolen and the archive catches fire. So much for Nick's mantra of "details, not ops." Instead of kicking back with champagne, Grant and his wingman plunge straight into danger, chasing a killer, a thief, and an old adversary they know as the Phantom. Their client is lying, their objective is missing, and their reputation is on the line—along with their lives—as they hunt for clues in Turkish baths and ruined churches from Istanbul to the Dead Cities of Syria. Modern wars spark ancient rivalries, leaving Grant caught between the man who would be king, and the mystery shrouding his throne. The Templars are after Grant's head, and the next target is the woman who ignited his heart. The Bone Guard is on the job and the legend's about to get real. Bone Guard. . .where adventure and history ignite!

Add in the fact that all the battling species are shifters, and there's bound to be trouble. Ben Akers is part of his brother's pack. The only coywolf shifters in existence, they find themselves under constant attack from wolf and coyote packs determined to make the Akers pack extinct. But coywolves don't die out so easy, and when Ben's life takes a surprising turn in the form of one sexy human named Jack Tucker, they're both in for surprises, danger and the chance at the kind of love most people—and shifters—can only dream of...
