Book Where The Rubber Hits The Road In This Game They Call Life

Download or read book Where The Rubber Hits The Road In This Game They Call Life written by Steve Wordsmith and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-05 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Don't give up till you reach the end, or you will miss the message. Introduction My poems are inspired by life's experience, the good times and the not so good times. Recapping significant bits of life and events that have absolutely no significance at all. Sometimes one of my poems will introduce a life changing truth next will lead you down the garden path to some humorous event that's really out for a laugh. I suppose it's not really fair to play with the dynamics of people's emotions but life's not always fair. Anyway if your reading my book and it has touched you enough to move your mind away from reality for a short time it has achieved the desired result. And also paid a small amount to help feed my family. This will also give me the opportunity to write another verse that just may be the poem that touches the hearts of the people that needs a slight encouragement at that particular moment so don't get up off the lounge or out of that comfy chair.

Book Natural Corporate Management

Download or read book Natural Corporate Management written by William C. Frederick and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-08 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This groundbreaking new book by business scholar William C. Frederick presents an innovative, exciting – even revolutionary – view of corporate management and the challenges it confronts in today's world. The author proposes a management paradigm shift transforming the way corporations do business. Management scholarship and research may well be rechanneled from current orientations to new models, concepts, and theories of what it takes to manage corporations in a planetary world confronting climate change, energy crises, and securing the well-being of all global citizens. Natural Corporate Management (NCM) is an awareness and an acceptance by the managers of today's business corporations of the close functional linkage between natural forces and human economic choices. NCM is not a set of techniques or methods but is a growing consciousness by managers of the presence and influence of nature in all managerial decisions. The book's central theme is that business and nature are locked into an evolutionary partnership that defines all aspects of corporate management, including decisions, policy, goal-seeking, organizational design, workplace behavior, and productive operations. This partnership of Nature and Nurture yields economic, social, and ecological dividends for corporations, their stakeholders, and the global community. An "Evolutionary Cascade" depicts the various phases of evolutionary change – physical, organic, genetic, human, neurological, symbolic – beginning with the Big Bang origin of the Universe and continuing to modern times. These evolutionary events collectively influence the operational activities of all business firms. A "Natural Theory of the Firm" summarizes the NCM approach, as well as the mind-set of corporate managers, and the bio-socio-economic consequences of their decisions. This theoretically-innovative book proposes an agenda of corporate actions to promote long-term sustainability and economic well-being of business, its stakeholders, and planetary citizens everywhere. It will be essential reading for managers and researchers at all levels who wish to engage seriously with the challenges of organic life and its long-term sustainability.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Feeling limited by circumstances, substances, or behaviors often leads to the simple, yet profound question, "Is this all there is?" This question is an opportunity to rediscover one's truth and live life more fully and authentically. Spirit Recovery Medicine Bag offers readers a path to finding their personal answer to this question in an engaging two-part format. In Part One, readers will join Lee McCormick as he reflects on his personal journey of recovery and transformation—a journey that initiated him into a life of helping others recover their own sense of self and purpose. Part Two is a medicine bag of healing practices designed to guide readers in developing self-awareness and awakening their sense of power-specifically the power of choice rooted in personal values and commitment to living those values. Covering a variety of topics addressing spirituality, awareness, and consciousness, the authors pose questions for reflection and self-investigation along the way. Spirit Recovery Medicine Bag is not a negation of Twelve-Step recovery, but a tool for expanding awareness and increasing involvement regardless of the path one is walking. In Twelve-Step language, it builds on Step 12's direction to practice these principles in all one's affairs. The authors believe that the inner journey to one's truth and the creative expression of that truth make for a good definition of spirituality, and they offer readers a very real message of the possibility of living "happy, joyous, and free" through spirit recovery.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the end of the day, what will people say about you? If folks were totally candid, totally honest, how would your epitaph read? In the Talmud it is suggested that to be successful in this life you should plant a tree, have a child, or write a book. This means you should be sure that you have exerted an influence for good in this life that lives on after your days are on earth are done. In each chapter popular author James W. Moore asks the question, “Just how will you be remembered...” as one who knew Christ’s healing love, who celebrated the joy of the journey, who knew the Gift of the Holy Spirit, who knew how to trust the right things, who knew the power of compassion, who knew how to teach children the key things in life, who knew the importance of prayer, who knew right from wrong, who knew the significance of the battle within, who knew the power of words, who knew “that great gettin’-up mornin'', who knew how to be beautifully extravagant? who knew how to be a real friend, who knew how to close the gate? The book’s epilogue provides some valuable insight into how to become that kind of person and is called “Making Every Day Count!” Also included in the book is a study guide.

Book Fire Line

    Book Details:
  • Author : Michael Thoele
  • Publisher : Fulcrum Group
  • Release : 1995
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 188 pages

Download or read book Fire Line written by Michael Thoele and published by Fulcrum Group. This book was released on 1995 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fire Line looks at the entire world of Western wildfire, with a strong, human-interest focus on the self-described adventurers and adrenaline junkies who go to battle in the West's annual summer war. Although its viewpoint is contemporary, it also deals with the historical backdrop of forest fire. Both rural and urban in scope, it covers wilderness fires that rage in such places as Alaska and Yellowstone National Park to the "urban interface" fires that sweep out of the mountains and into neighborhoods in such places as Los Angeles and Oakland, California. For generations, fighting fire in the forest has been a Western rite of passage. Almost everyone who lives in the West knows someone who has done it - a neighbor, a friend, a co-worker, a college roommate, a son, or these days, a daughter. The region is home to tens of thousands of adults who have had this experience. Those who go to battle against wildfire range from college students to Native American crews to perennial fire bums. Seasonal combatants led by full-time professionals, they work in a little-understood, paramilitary world that is America's version of the French Foreign Legion. In their annual campaigns, daring pilots dive into flaming canyons with retardant tanker planes. Smokejumpers leap into rugged wilderness regions. "Hotshots", the shock troops of wildland fire, take on giant conflagrations.

Book Roget s International Thesaurus 7th Edition

Download or read book Roget s International Thesaurus 7th Edition written by Barbara Ann Kipfer and published by Collins Reference. This book was released on 2010-08-03 with total page 1320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A classic reference book that has been used by millions all over the world, Roget’s International Thesaurus is the product of more than a century and a half of continual expansion, reorganization, and improvement. Today this book is not only the most time-tested and bestselling thesaurus ever, but, newly revised, it is also the most up-to-date and comprehensive reflection of the English language as it is currently used. The revolutionary achievement of Dr. Peter Mark Roget’s first edition in 1852 was the development of a brand-new principle: the arrangement of words and phrases according to their meanings. Dr. Roget’s system brings together in one place all the terms associated with a single thought or concept; it allows a wide-ranging survey of language within a book of relatively modest size, without the space-consuming repetitions that so severely limit the scope of thesauruses arranged in a dictionary format with A-to-Z entries. This brilliant organization makes Roget’s International Thesaurus both the most efficient word finder and a cutting-edge aid in stimulating thought, organizing ideas, and writing and speaking more clearly and effectively. This revised and updated seventh edition features thousands of new words and phrases, including the newest slang words and expressions that color and inform everyday language. At the same time, it retains all the hallmarks that have made Roget’s International Thesaurus the most popular word reference book next to the dictionary.
