Is a book promotes US citizens to run for public office while explaining to the readers how to solve the major problems that are facing the US population. The book goes through almost every issue that is facing the United States from Global Warming to the Student Debt Crises. Issues like the 2nd amendment, gay marriage, bailouts and the collapse of the economy. How to solve problems using the constitution takes the reader through different issues, while explaining history of the United States where there might have been similar problems then. How did Washington solve the debt crisis from the revolutionary war? We have a debt crisis today. How can we use history to solve our problems today? What does it mean to be an American vs a British Subject? How did the United States become the power house that it is today? Why is it so hard to live in the United States? What is constitutional and what is not constitutional? This book is designed to educate the reader on running for office and solving our problems like the constitution was designed for. Solving our problems diplomatically, using our laws to raise the stand of living for the common man. Only you can run for office and work within our government to change things for the good. Our politicians are invested in themselves. Our politicians are going to do what they are told by the people who finance their campaigns. That is why you need to run for political office and that is why I wrote this book. Hopefully I might have enough money to run for office one day. I hope that this book motivates you, the reader to be self-confident embracing your democratic republican responsibilities and run for office. I hope that I create an army of responsible democratic republican civilians that take their government back from the Special interests, lobbyists and the foreign governments that are controlling the United States of America today.

Book Transformative Food Value Chains for Local Development

Download or read book Transformative Food Value Chains for Local Development written by Silke Maria Stöber and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-01-26 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding the capacity of food systems to undertake a transformation towards sustainability requires understanding how resources stream in and out of the systems. As complex socio-economic structures, food and agricultural value chains are important means for channeling resources, knowledge, and agency in and out of rural areas. Given their prominent role on the development agendas, there is mixed evidence as to what extent value chains and their actors can contribute to improving the livelihoods in poor rural and urban areas. In order to shape sustainable living places, transformative capacities and good governance are important mainstays. Transformative agri-food value chains are robust and often act as the sole transmission belt for returning capital, resources and identity back into vulnerable areas. Moreover, domestic or regional chains may provide urban consumers with fresh quality food that also contributes to regional identity.

Book The Crisis of Crowding

Download or read book The Crisis of Crowding written by Ludwig B. Chincarini and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-07-31 with total page 514 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A rare analytical look at the financial crisis using simple analysis The economic crisis that began in 2008 revealed the numerous problems in our financial system, from the way mortgage loans were produced to the way Wall Street banks leveraged themselves. Curiously enough, however, most of the reasons for the banking collapse are very similar to the reasons that Long-Term Capital Management (LTCM), the largest hedge fund to date, collapsed in 1998. The Crisis of Crowding looks at LTCM in greater detail, with new information, for a more accurate perspective, examining how the subsequent hedge funds started by Meriwether and former partners were destroyed again by the lapse of judgement in allowing Lehman Brothers to fail. Covering the lessons that were ignored during LTCM's collapse but eventually connected to the financial crisis of 2008, the book presents a series of lessons for hedge funds and financial markets, including touching upon the circle of greed from homeowners to real estate agents to politicians to Wall Street. Guides the reader through the real story of Long-Term Capital Management with accurate descriptions, previously unpublished data, and interviews Describes the lessons that hedge funds, as well as the market, should have learned from LTCM's collapse Explores how the financial crisis and LTCM are a global phenomena rooted in failures to account for risk in crowded spaces with leverage Explains why quantitative finance is essential for every financial institution from risk management to valuation modeling to algorithmic trading Is filled with simple quantitative analysis about the financial crisis, from the Quant Crisis of 2007 to the failure of Lehman Brothers to the Flash Crash of 2010 A unique blend of storytelling and sound quantitative analysis, The Crisis of Crowding is one of the first books to offer an analytical look at the financial crisis rather than just an account of what happened. Also included are a layman's guide to the Dodd-Frank rules and what it means for the future, as well as an evaluation of the Fed's reaction to the crisis, QE1, QE2, and QE3.

Book Kasinomics

    Book Details:
  • Author : GG Alcock
  • Publisher : Jonathan Ball Publishers
  • Release : 2015-10-01
  • ISBN : 0620651660
  • Pages : 213 pages

Download or read book Kasinomics written by GG Alcock and published by Jonathan Ball Publishers. This book was released on 2015-10-01 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kasinomi is a book as eclectic, mysterious and colourful as the places and people it explores. eKasi, the lokasie, the South African township, once an apartheid ghetto, is today an amazingly transformed place. This township today is an eclectic mix of mansions, shacks, spaza shops, rocking taverns, hawkers, taxis and hot wheels. In this kasi there are vibrant businesses, energetic people, a tightly networked social community and abundant hope. That is not to say there isn't extreme poverty, suffering and dissatisfaction, particularly on the peripheries in the huge shack settlements, but to paint the place as a slum is a massive mistake. Kasinomi attempts to cast a light on the invisible matrix at the heart of South Africa's informal economies and the people who live in them. Living and doing business in African marketplaces requires an ethos uniquely suited to the informal, to the invisible, to the intangible. Kasinomi will take you down those rural pathways, weave between claustrophobic mazes of shacks, browse a muti market, visit a spirit returning ceremony and save money with gogo in a stokvel among many more people and places. After almost twenty years of focusing on marketing to the informal sector, GG Alcock, CEO of specialist marketing company Minanawe, showcases a number of groundbreaking and very successful case studies in this invisible informal world. His vivid anecdotes and life experiences and how they link to understanding and inspiration for business ideas will make you gasp, laugh and shake your head in wonder.

Book Making Housing Happen 2nd Edition

Download or read book Making Housing Happen 2nd Edition written by Jill Suzanne Shook and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2012-09-19 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The growing housing crisis cries out for solutions that work. As many as 3.5 million Americans experience homelessness each year, half of them women and children. One in four renters spends more than half of their income on rent and utilities (more than 30 percent is considered unaffordable). With record foreclosures and 28 percent of homes "underwater," middle and low-income homeowners are suffering. Many congregations want to address this daunting problem yet feel powerless and uncertain about what to do. The good news is that churches are effectively addressing the housing crisis from Washington State to New York City--where an alliance of sixty churches has built five thousand homes for low-income homeowners, with virtually no government funding or foreclosures. This book not only presents solid theological thinking about housing, but also offers workable solutions to the current crisis: true stories by those who have made housing happen. Each story features a different Christian denomination, geographic area, and model: adaptive reuse, cohousing, cooperative housing, mixed-income, mixed-use, inclusionary zoning, second units, community land trusts, sweat equity, and more. Making Housing Happen is about vision and faith, relationships, and persistence. Its remarkable stories will inspire and challenge you to action. This new edition includes significant new material, especially in light of the ongoing mortgage crisis.

Download or read book The Politics of Storage written by Kostandinos S. Christakis and published by INSTAP Academic Press. This book was released on 2008-08-10 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The storage of staples and its importance for the functioning of Cretan Bronze Age society has become an active topic of debate. This study reassesses the intrinsic relationship between storage and sociopolitical complexity by combining testimonies on the storage of staples from palatial, nonpalatial elite, and ordinary domestic contexts dated to the LM I period. The main goals are (1) to examine a wide range of information concerned with the storage of staples; (2) to develop a comprehensive model to explain how storage strategies operate within LM I societies; and (3) to infer sociopolitical and socio-economic levels of interaction among the different social sectors operating within LM I societies (mainly LM IB societies).
