Book excerpt: Judah Smith, New York Times bestselling author of Jesus Is ____, helps readers understand what steals their peace of mind and outlines the path to peace and fulfillment: understanding and implementing the healthy soul environment God originally designed. Modern everyday life is stressful and confusing, full of overly packed schedules and circumstances outside one’s control. This can be especially troubling for Christians who are wrestling with reality while trying to put their trust in God. But the truth is, anxiety does not have to be the constant from day to day. In fact, all the things people most desire in life--peace of mind, hope for tomorrow--are rooted in one simple thing: how they care for the health of their souls. In How's Your Soul?, Judah Smith explores the various facets and needs of the inner person, demonstrating that the path to cultivating healthy souls starts with discovering God’s original design. He helps readers find real peace and security by bringing their feelings into alignment with God’s truth, discover a healthy sense of identity from God and feel empowered to face the future with a new security and confidence, and learn the four elements necessary for a healthy soul environment. Sharing his own often humorous mistakes and foibles, Judah offers a helping hand as readers find their way through the emotional rollercoasters of life to discover the soul-healing essentials rooted in what he calls the soul’s only true home--God himself.

Book Thoughts on Death and Immortality

Download or read book Thoughts on Death and Immortality written by Ludwig Feuerbach and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2023-07-28 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Never translated before, 'Thoughts on Death and Immortality' was the first published work of Ludwig Feuerbach (1804-1872). The scandal created by portrayal of Christianity as an egoistic and inhumane religion cost the young Hegelian his job and, to some extent, his career. Joining philosophical argument to epigram, lyric, and satire, the work has three central arguments: first, a straightforward denial of the Christian belief in personal immortality; second, a plea for recognition of the inexhaustible quality of the only life we have; and third, a derisive assault on the posturings and hypocrisies of the professional theologians of nineteenth-century Germany.

Book Stupid People and Why You Cannot Have Nice Things

Download or read book Stupid People and Why You Cannot Have Nice Things written by Ciliguse Stultus and published by Ciliguse Stultus. This book was released on 2020-11-17 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stupid people are everywhere, constantly ruining everything. Politics, religion, science, and social interactions are broken by stupid behavior so often that good sense is the exception rather than the rule in any of them. Sometimes we are the stupid people doing all of that. Even the allegedly brightest among you have likely reduced much of the world down to an overly simplistic all-or-nothing mentality that will only get you so far (at most to the presidency). This book is evidence-free, refusing to scare you with any pesky research that you will not understand. After luring you in, I will kick you in the pants and insult you mercilessly because nobody else has ever told you the plain old truth about anything. Seriously, somebody should tell you "No!" and mean it at least once a day. If you are already a parent who really takes part in raising kids, you can disregard this last part. This book refuses to fix you, because digits and pieces of paper do not do such things. Instead, I will explain why you may be unhappy due to your unquestioning acceptance of incredibly stupid childish assumptions. If you are unhappy, you may find reasons for happiness here, but that will be mainly because you will notice how much better you feel after the kicks in the butt have stopped.

Download or read book The Purpose of Life written by Dr. Mark A. Kolodziej and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-09-15 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the begining of time people have been asking the question "Why do we exist?", "who is God?", "Why does a good God allow for so much pain to exist in the world?", "How do various institutions such as government, education, marriage, work and others fit into the big scheme of things?" From a Christian perspective people are made in the image of God, since God is a being made up of three connected yet distinct entities, so are humans. The three entities that humans are composed of are: the body (physical), the spiritual (mind and conciousness) and the soul (given to us by God at conception). The whole purpose of life is to return to God what God has given us (the soul). How we do this is explored throughout this book.
