Download or read book What If I Whispered Your Name written by Anne Pieterse and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-04-29 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if, you brought me a white rose And placed the petals around my heart; And then promised me We would never ever part? ~ Whisper, by Anne Pieterse In 1998, Anne Pieterse and her husband took their family on a beach holiday. Tragically their youngest son Kristo was swept away one day and they never saw him again. Numb with pain, Annes own grief and the betrayal of those closest to her dragged her on a downward spiral into a soul-destroying depression. It was a long journey through to the other side of grief in which she also had an affair and dramatic encounter with those who endured the 2004 South Asian Tsunami. But after much soul searching Anne discovered the source that would propel her back into a positive appreciation of life, love, nature and self. Rich with poetry and vivid descriptions of her life, Journeying Beyond Grief is a moving account of Annes heartache, how she faced her demons and moved on. Powerful, challenging and inspiring, What if I whispered your name should motivate and encourage others undertaking a similar journey.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My book is based on my personal life experiences. I became a mother at an early age. I dropped out of high school. Later on in life, I obtained my GED. I was in a relationship that lasted nearly fifteen years. When that relationship ended, I entered into another relationship. That was my first encounter with a violent partner. I was also introduced to meth. I became a very depressed alcoholic and meth addict. That relationship lasted nearly four and a half years. When I finally left that relationship, I left with extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I stayed single for a few years before entering what turned out to be another domestic violence situation. I left that relationship after nearly four years. I spent nearly sixteen years lost in a lifestyle that included sadness and depression due to drugs, alcohol, the loss of my best friend at the age of seventeen, and the loss of my father nearly seven years ago. Drugs and alcohol played a major role in all my downfalls. I found myself homeless on the streets of Tacoma, still drinking and using drugs. I made the choice to leave Tacoma three years ago. In doing so, I was able to get clean and sober. I’m a survivor of two domestic violence relationships. By the grace of God, I’m free of drugs and alcohol. For that, I give the glory to my Lord, Savior, and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

Now, the absentee goddess who created the species is sending him and his brothers on an ill-timed mate hunt. And her message, for once, is clear: convince a stranger to become his mate, or else. When Ellery Colvard embarks on a camping trip with her two best friends, she expects bonding and maybe a little adventure, not to be kidnapped by a supernatural menace for the second time in a year. But this time, she’s nobody’s victim. The witch is prepared to use every trick in her arsenal to escape. But…she’s not entirely sure she’s supposed to. Powerful entities seem to be conspiring to push the two reluctant parties together, but can they trust the magic is real? Because if it isn’t, Mason may be cursed to spend the rest of his days roaming in his four-legged form—a bad deal for a father of an infant son.

Book The Conquering Sword of Conan

Download or read book The Conquering Sword of Conan written by Robert E. Howard and published by Del Rey. This book was released on 2005-11-29 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “For headling, nonstop adventure and for vivid, even florid, scenery, no one even comes close to Howard.”—Harry Turtledove In a meteoric career that covered only a dozen years, Robert E. Howard defined the sword-and-sorcery genre. In doing so, he brought to life the archetypal adventurer known to millions around the world as Conan the barbarian. Witness, then, Howard at his finest, and Conan at his most savage, in the latest volume featuring the collected works of Robert E. Howard, lavishly illustrated by award-winning artist Greg Manchess. Prepared directly from the earliest known versions—often Howard’s own manuscripts—are such sword-and-sorcery classics as “The Servants of Bit-Yakin” (formerly published as “Jewels of Gwahlur”), “Beyond the Black River,” “The Black Stranger,” “Man-Eaters of Zamboula” (formerly published as “Shadows in Zamboula”), and, perhaps his most famous adventure of all, “Red Nails.” The Conquering Sword of Conan includes never-before-published outlines, notes, and story drafts, plus a new introduction, personal correspondence, and the revealing essay “Hyborian Genesis”—which chronicles the history of the creation of the Conan series. Truly, this is heroic fantasy at its finest.
