What does the Bible really say? What should giving look like in our everyday lives? Filled with good news for followers of Jesus, Mark Allan Powell s Giving to God shows Christians the way to a better life and a better relationship with their money — and with God. Powell presents stewardship as an act of worship, an expression of faith, and a discipline for spiritual growth. Faithful use of our time, talents, and money starts with a deep, satisfying relationship with the God to whom we belong. We can then learn, says Powell, to give gladly and generously out of our heartfelt connection with God. Informative, concise, and eminently practical (including discussion questions), Giving to God gives us resources for best using the treasures, material and otherwise, that God has given us.

Book Tithing after the Cross

  • Author : David A. Croteau
  • Publisher : Energion Publications
  • Release : 2016-09-21
  • ISBN : 1938434129
  • Pages : 94 pages

Download or read book Tithing after the Cross written by David A. Croteau and published by Energion Publications. This book was released on 2016-09-21 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some in the church find it very difficult to talk about money, but it's a subject that cannot be avoided. The church needs money to continue to function. Missionaries need money to carry the gospel. As a result, however reluctant we are to talk about it, we have to do so. And when we do so, we often generate more confusion and resentment than cash. Some churches require that members be tithers before they can take positions of leadership. This in turn can result in a sort of spying by one believer on another. How much do we each earn? Is our giving equal to 10% of our income? On the other hand there are those who discount tithing, and consider themselves tithers because they give two or three percent of their income. They may say that they "tithe" 3% of their income. But what exactly does the Bible teach about tithing and how does that apply to us today? Is there a way for us to become grace-filled givers? Can stewardship, giving, and financing the work of building the kingdom become a joy rather than a duty or a source of dissension? David Croteau has written at length on this topic before. In this volume of the Areopagus Critical Christian Issues series, he undertakes a brief examination of tithing, stewardship, and giving. He starts by asking just what the Israelites were called on to give by the scriptures. He then follows through the various arguments in favor of tithing as a law applicable to Christians and shows how these arguments fail. Finally, he discusses a basis for gracious, joyful giving as God directs each of us. In just 96 pages (including all the front matter) you'll find your understanding of Christian stewardship changed. You won't find here a license for apathy or selfishness. Instead, you'll find a challenge to discover and do God's will in your finances as in every other area of your life.

God taught him how to have abundance in the area of finances. Andrew discusses the influence of money in our lives and how it is very real. He teaches that Jesus taught more about managing resources than He did on prayer or even faith. He exposes the manipulation that sometimes goes on with Christian ministers and how you can be immune from it. Andrew Wommack's message is clear that even though there are abuses in the body of Christ regarding money, that you can still benefit from the truths in God s Word about finances. He believes that by fixing your heart that you deal with the root cause of financial situations and then money will take care of itself. Once your heart is right, using wisdom in how you spend your money comes naturally.

Generally associated with money and giving, stewardship is really about managing everything God has given or entrusted to you: time, talents, resources, finances, relationships, positions, even the gospel. In a culture where the world around you distracts from the God who holds it together, More than Money shows the relevance of God in your daily life and how He has given you freedom to choose how to manage all He’s given you. How are you doing? God has entrusted to you to use what He has given to accomplish His purposes. More than Money shows you the principles of whole-life stewardship so Christ can say to you “well done, good and faithful servant.”

It's not strictly a financial issue. We have much to give that is far more valuable than money. We have our time, our commitment, our attitude, our gifting, our energy, our service, our talent, our assets, our devotion and our entire life. Yet in all that we have to offer, our attitude toward our finances does play an important role and affects the other areas of our life. Your role in receiving the blessings of God is all about you keeping only a needed portion of God's blessing and returning a large portion of the blessing so that others can be blessed as well. We should become resourceful and efficient stewards of all the possessions God has sent our way.

Book A Biblical Perspective On Tithing Giving A Believer s Stewardship Guide

Download or read book A Biblical Perspective On Tithing Giving A Believer s Stewardship Guide written by Rich Brott and published by Rich Brott. This book was released on 2008 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to author Rich Brott, nothing happens in the economy of God until you give something away. It is a universal law of God. Giving is the trigger for God's financial miracles. When you give to the Kingdom of God, it will be given back to you. We must do so in complete confidence that our God will not only meet our needs, but allow us to have plenty left over so that we can joyfully share it with others. When it comes to personal possessions, money and wealth, you cannot take it with you but you CAN send it on ahead. Bottom line is this: what you keep, you will lose, but what you give away, you will gain. When you become a faithful tither and a generous giver you become an individual whom God can bless.
