She learns a secret which the enemy will go to any lengths to uncover. Book Templar Knight vs Mamluk Warrior

Download or read book Templar Knight vs Mamluk Warrior written by David Campbell and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2015-11-20 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Step into the violent world of the 13th century, where the European states of the Levant battled with Muslim powers for control of Jerusalem. At the cutting edge of the conflict were the elite fighting men of the Crusader and Egyptian armies – the Knights Templar and the Mamluks, respectively. The Templars were the most famous and formidable of the European Military Orders, while the Mamluks were a slave caste whose fighting prowess had elevated them to the point of holding real political power, threatening their Ayyubid masters who relied on them so desperately for military success. This book draws on the latest research to tell the story of three key engagements from the Fifth Crusade to the Seventh Crusade. It reveals the extraordinary ferocity with which these battles were fought, and how the struggle between Templar and Mamluk came to shape the political future of the region.

Drawn to his abandoned temple on the banks of the Nile one evening by the notes of a half forgotten, sacred song, Sobek the Crocodile God is unable to resist Merys, the beautiful singer who innocently summons him. Appearing to her as a man and concealing his true identity, he’s captivated by this descendant of his last priestess. Treated by her family as a servant, denied a dowry and with no prospects for anything but a life of drudgery, Merys is happy to steal away to spend time with the handsome stranger. Their mutual attraction burns hot but Sobek is forbidden to pursue a human woman and can offer Merys nothing beyond a few hours snatched from his duties tending the Nile. Then Egypt’s enemies attack the peaceful village. Can the love between Merys and the Crocodile God survive the ultimate test of the gods? A 21,000 word novella of ancient Egypt… Suggested reading order for the Gods of Egypt series (although the books can be read standalone): PRIESTESS OF THE NILE WARRIOR OF THE NILE DANCER OF THE NILE MAGIC OF THE NILE (a sequel to PRIESTESS) GHOST OF THE NILE HEALER OF THE NILE LADY OF THE NILE SONG OF THE NILE (a sequel to LADY)

Book Daegan

  • Publisher : Veronica Scott
  • Release : 2019-11-14
  • ISBN : 1733390235
  • Pages : 181 pages

Download or read book Daegan written by Veronica Scott and published by Veronica Scott. This book was released on 2019-11-14 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ex-Special Forces soldier and mercenary Flo Michetti is bored with her assignment as a pilot for the genetically engineered Badari pack in their fight against the evil Khagrish scientists. She jumps at the chance to take a dangerous undercover mission. She infiltrates a group of human prisoners on their way to a secret lab in the southern ocean, where the Badari believe many more of their own kind have been created and are being experimented on. Once Flo has located the lab, found the Alpha among the Badari there and sent a report back, the plan will be to attack and rescue all the prisoners. Arriving at the island Flo learns the true nature of the horrific experiment for which the humans have been brought to this remote location. Time will be perilously short to escape before it’s too late for all of them. She has to locate the Alpha of this captive southern pack, who conceals his identity to escape death at the hands of the Khagrish, and get him to join with her and her allies. Daegan feels an instant attraction to Flo when the Badari and the humans are forced together by the Khagrish scientists, but there are mysteries and questions surrounding her. Before he reveals himself as the incognito Alpha she’s seeking, he wants answers to allay his doubts. He also wants Flo in his bed…but can he risk his heart to claim her as his mate? Complicating the situation is a dangerous rival for Daegan’s position as Alpha, an oncoming hurricane and Flo’s resistance to abandoning her life as a soldier of fortune…as the Khagrish scientists prepare to initiate the experiment, the clock is ticking for humans and Badari alike. Author Note: There is an incident in this novel where a supporting character unsuccessfully attempts to commit suicide by drowning. This is the eleventh book in the Badari Warriors world (and the tenth book in the numbered series) and each novel has a satisfying Happy for Now ending for the hero and heroine, not a cliffhanger. Some overarching issues do remain unresolved in each book since this is an ongoing series but romance always wins the day in my novels!
