Learning from the lives portrayed, it explores ideas of care, vulnerability and choice, questioning what it means to live a modern life with illness and illuminating the vitality of bodies along the way. Thomas Chavez learned this discipline under its developer, Dr. John Whitman Ray, and in Body Electronics, Chavez expands it to cover every imaginable trauma and illness. The basis for the approach is the melting of melanin protein complexes (crystals) in the body that develop through years of poor diet, insufficient water, poor bowel ecology, and other factors. The book addresses such topics as how to achieve appropriate levels of nutrient saturation with the right combination of enzymes and minerals; how much water to drink and why it's important; how eating cooked food can be a damaging addiction; and how to achieve a healthy relationship with bacterial flora for intestinal health. In addition to physical wellness, the book addresses spiritual and psychological well being. The results of body electronics have been called miraculous; this book shows why.

Book The Intelligent Body Reversing Chronic Fatigue and Pain From the Inside Out

Download or read book The Intelligent Body Reversing Chronic Fatigue and Pain From the Inside Out written by Kyle L. Davies and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2017-05-02 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Exercises and strategies for long-term emotional well-being in the face of physical difficulties. Why are we seeing growing numbers of people suffering from debilitating chronic symptoms of pain, fatigue, inflammation and cognitive impairment that medicine is failing to resolve? A new paradigm is needed where we understand the mind and body as an interconnected flowing system. This paradigm embraces the self-healing, self-correcting, and self-creating natures of our connected mind-body system. Physical symptoms are simply a sign of disharmony and energetic imbalance, a “tap on the shoulder” from our intelligent body that is trying to get our attention. This “tap” on the shoulder can become debilitating symptoms over time. When we pay attention, and understand this communication, we can take the steps to facilitate our own self-healing. This book explains the origins of chronic symptoms and outlines the road to recovery. Readers are offered life-changing principles and practices to regain harmony in their lives and bodies, whether they suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, adrenal fatigue, trauma, depression, or anxiety. It explains how we can learn to heal ourselves from the inside out by reconceptualizing the relationships among our bodies, minds, and emotions, embracing the full importance of the mind-body connection, and tapping our natural restorative capacities. Here, readers will find ways to maximize the connections between optimum health, peace of mind, and fulfilling life experiences, all emerging when we are aligned with our “true self.”

Drawing on ancient Indian healing systems, Pauline Wills puts us on the path to spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being as she explains where the seven major centers are located, how they are linked, and how they influence our health and happiness. Practical exercises, which range from color work, reflexology, and yoga to meditation and mantras, provide a chakra workout that balances each one in turn.

Book The Vital Psoas Muscle

Download or read book The Vital Psoas Muscle written by Jo Ann Staugaard-Jones and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2018-11-06 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Located deep within the anterior hip joint and lower spine, the psoas major (usually just referred to as the psoas) is critical for optimal postural alignment, movement, and overall well being. The psoas is the only muscle in the human organism that connects the upper body to the lower body, and its importance extends to the nerve complex and energy systems. As modern-day populations grow more sedentary, psoas-related lower back and hip pain, and the ailment of "sitting too much," are on the rise. Even the most active of athletes can suffer from psoas imbalance and pain. The Vital Psoas Muscle demonstrates how to keep the muscle in balance through specific exercises designed to strengthen and utilize this amazing muscle, and discusses its vital role in the emotional and spiritual state of the human being. The interconnection between the psoas and the root chakra is explored, along with yoga poses and postures that stimulate the psoas. Eighty full-color illustrations depict anatomical details, and show the key stretching and strengthening exercises in this practical and comprehensive treatment of the most important skeletal muscle in the human body.

  • Release : 2014-11-06
  • ISBN : 1136771727
  • Pages : 331 pages

Download or read book The Body written by Lisa Jean Moore and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-11-06 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This college-level handbook offers a comprehensive and accessible overview of sociological and cultural perspectives on the human body. Organized along the lines of a standard anatomical textbook delineated by body parts and processes, this volume subverts the expected content in favor of providing tools for social and cultural analysis. Students will learn about the human body in its social, cultural, and political contexts, with emphasis on multiple, contested meanings of the body, body parts, and systems. Case studies, examples, and discussion questions are both US-based and international. Advancing critical body studies, the book explicitly discusses bodies in relation to race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, age, health, geography, and citizenship status. The framing is sociological rather than biomedical, attentive to cultural meanings, institutional practices, politics, and social problems. The authors use commonly understood anatomical frames to discuss social, cultural, political, and ethical issues concerning embodiment.

Book Charge and the Energy Body

Download or read book Charge and the Energy Body written by Anodea Judith, Ph.D. and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2018-04-10 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Use the power of life force to live your highest potential with this “landmark book” that addresses “the role of the chakras in personality and our intimate relationships” and “opens the door to the inner experience of the authentic self” (Peter Levine, author of Waking the Tiger) We all know what it’s like to have a “charge” about something. It’s a feeling of excitement, fear, sexual arousal, or irritation. But what we don’t currently know is how to use charge for the behaviors we want to create. Charge is a word for the basic life force running through us. This force is crucial if we are to meet the challenges of difficult situations, heal past wounds and traumas, and manage the stress of modern life. Even more, it is essential for understanding how to master your own life force and become all you can be. This book makes an important contribution to the growing field of Energy Medicine, by looking at charge as the interface between mind and body, and the missing ingredient in Mind-Body healing. It brings the reader into a deep intimacy with their own life force, as well as an understanding of how charge runs their relationships, their children, their clients, and patients. It examines how we can become “overcharged” or “undercharged” and how to bring about balance through practices of charging and discharging. Each chapter gives simple exercises to put these principles into practice. World-renowned teacher, somatic therapist, best-selling author, and advanced yoga teacher, Anodea Judith, Ph.D., addresses all this and more in her groundbreaking book on mastering the life force. Taken from her decades of teaching on the subject and her doctoral work in Mind-Body medicine, this book contributes something entirely new to the literature on healing self and others.

Book Regulation of Tissue Oxygenation Second Edition

Download or read book Regulation of Tissue Oxygenation Second Edition written by Roland N. Pittman and published by Biota Publishing. This book was released on 2016-08-18 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This presentation describes various aspects of the regulation of tissue oxygenation, including the roles of the circulatory system, respiratory system, and blood, the carrier of oxygen within these components of the cardiorespiratory system. The respiratory system takes oxygen from the atmosphere and transports it by diffusion from the air in the alveoli to the blood flowing through the pulmonary capillaries. The cardiovascular system then moves the oxygenated blood from the heart to the microcirculation of the various organs by convection, where oxygen is released from hemoglobin in the red blood cells and moves to the parenchymal cells of each tissue by diffusion. Oxygen that has diffused into cells is then utilized in the mitochondria to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy currency of all cells. The mitochondria are able to produce ATP until the oxygen tension or PO2 on the cell surface falls to a critical level of about 4–5 mm Hg. Thus, in order to meet the energetic needs of cells, it is important to maintain a continuous supply of oxygen to the mitochondria at or above the critical PO2 . In order to accomplish this desired outcome, the cardiorespiratory system, including the blood, must be capable of regulation to ensure survival of all tissues under a wide range of circumstances. The purpose of this presentation is to provide basic information about the operation and regulation of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as the properties of the blood and parenchymal cells, so that a fundamental understanding of the regulation of tissue oxygenation is achieved.
