Book excerpt: The gospel of Jesus Christ is not about what Jesus can do for your life. It is not even the answer to the question, "How can I be saved?" It is the declaration of a victory. In His coming to earth, His suffering, and His Resurrection, Christ conquered demons, sin, and death. In Arise, O God, author and podcaster Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick introduces us to the spiritual war that Christ won by His victory, how we are caught in that war's cosmic crossfire, what the true content of the gospel is-and how we are to respond.

Book excerpt: All the treasures and truths men have searched for across the ages would be found in Him, if they would but look. The search ends and the greatest treasure found, once He becomes the object of our seeking. Are you walking through life unfulfilled, or are you seeking God’s plan and purposes for your life? Have you struggled with your faith and with living it out daily? How do you view God? So many people have read about God, or have even sat on church pews for years hearing about Him, but have yet to experience Him. He is a supernatural God and loving Father, yet so few of us experience Him relationally, experientially. It is His strong desire that we do so. Arise Shine is a journey which takes you to the heart of this amazing God and guides you into the power of His presence, finding the inexplicable peace, unspeakable joy, and overwhelming love He longs to give us.

Download or read book God of War Arise written by Archbishop Gloria Grace and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-01-21 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The strategies of the enemy in battles against the people of God over the years have been similar. He is threatened by the people and the nations that belong to God. He is also threatened by those who declare the will and the counsel of God on Earth through the preaching of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. So he attacks, enslaves, intimidates, terrorizes and also tries to kill them. In all these ways, he never stops until God intervenes for His people when they cry out to Him in prayers. The Lord did not leave us at the mercy of the enemy in any battle. He is the captain our warfare and He has all the needed strategies for us to undertake in every battle. Each battle has a needed strategy from the Lord with which we can win our victory. In the old times, the Lord gave His people peculiar strategy for each battle, and as the people of God follow divine instruction for each battle,, they had overwhelming victory. This book looks into various battles the through which the Lord led His people, and how following divine battle plans led them to vast victories. The same principle applies to us today. It is only when we seek the Lord for victory in our battles, and align ourselves to His battle plans that we have great victories.

Book Arise Impact the World

Download or read book Arise Impact the World written by Kay Mbayise and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2016-11-07 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book I pose four questions to the reader, which are : What is my role as a Christian in the Political Sphere ? What is my role as a Christian in the Ministry God has placed me ? What keys can I use to graduate from a life of failure to that of Victory? What keys can we use to make our Ministry to become Victorious ? The answers I give in the book are based on various messages I have heard and practiced throughout my life as a Christian but mostly inspired by messages preached at the Shekinah Conference at the Praise Christian Center in Lusaka, Zambia. I have backed up all the answers with scriptures from the word of God as I believe that it provides answers to all worldly problems. A Victorious Ministry consists of Victorious Christians who are active in both the Ministry and the Political World. When Christians Arise to this fact, they will Impact the World with the gospel of Jesus Christ

Book Logics of War

  • Author : Alex Weisiger
  • Publisher : Cornell University Press

Download or read book Logics of War written by Alex Weisiger and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2013-03-19 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most wars between countries end quickly and at relatively low cost. The few in which high-intensity fighting continues for years bring about a disproportionate amount of death and suffering. What separates these few unusually long and intense wars from the many conflicts that are far less destructive? In Logics of War, Alex Weisiger tests three explanations for a nation's decision to go to war and continue fighting regardless of the costs. He combines sharp statistical analysis of interstate wars over the past two centuries with nine narrative case studies. He examines both well-known conflicts like World War II and the Persian Gulf War, as well as unfamiliar ones such as the 1864-1870 Paraguayan War (or the War of the Triple Alliance), which proportionally caused more deaths than any other war in modern history. When leaders go to war expecting easy victory, events usually correct their misperceptions quickly and with fairly low casualties, thereby setting the stage for a negotiated agreement. A second explanation involves motives born of domestic politics; as war becomes more intense, however, leaders are increasingly constrained in their ability to continue the fighting. Particularly destructive wars instead arise from mistrust of an opponent's intentions. Countries that launch preventive wars to forestall expected decline tend to have particularly ambitious war aims that they hold to even when fighting goes poorly. Moreover, in some cases, their opponents interpret the preventive attack as evidence of a dispositional commitment to aggression, resulting in the rejection of any form of negotiation and a demand for unconditional surrender. Weisiger's treatment of a topic of central concern to scholars of major wars will also be read with great interest by military historians, political psychologists, and sociologists.
